  1. which you could say is to Cooks credit as at least he is rider worth talking about. Not your run of the mill bland and characterless type. From that point of view its good - the sport needs 'villans' for the opposition to boo.
  2. Its a shame the BSPA listings no longer show the figures. In the past it would have meetings rides points average. Then we wouldnt be in the dark with these matters.
  3. no whining here -would say the same whoever wherever.Im sure there have been a few Witches - have not said otherwise or that it would be right either.Handshakes not mentioned either - just acknowledgement.
  4. Who will be at reserve for Edinburgh - Worrall or Sneddon? Latest averages show them both on 5.35 but the listings for all teams remain in last months order even where a reserve has gone into the top 5 (eg Jensen/Kus Berwick) so not clear where each will be. Could be the difference in who wins.
  5. I enjoy a single malt but not as many as you evidently. You say it yourself 'Sam was ridden out' not knocked off or even blocked off. Re Gino bailing out its not surprising when clouted by someone attempting a far too narrow entry divebomb move. As for the result Id say its one where both sides will think they shouldve won so the draw probably the fairest .
  6. Richie was so far off the pace he wouldve needed the fifth lap at race speed to catch them - Cook was right on their tails for the 4 laps. You dont need to give the winner a hug and send them flowers just a quick acknowledgement will do - even one given grudgingly through gritted teeth.
  7. There should be a separate flashing light similar to the 2 minute warning for any heat involving Garrity. 'WARNING WARNING - Garrity incoming off gateX' Think it will be a tight one with the team that runs the least last places coming out on top. Head - Rye 48 Witches 42 Heart - Rye 42 Witches 48.
  8. When each of your top 4 get paid 10 or better you expect to win especially at home so a draw is very disappointing. There wont be many meetings when Cook.is beaten in 3 of his 5 heats Sneddon was a rolling roadblock at times but credit to him he did that job and pick up the vital points Cam and the reserves didnt for the Witches. Steve Worrall was the real hero for the Monarchs - looked super quick and super smooth. Richie came good at the end. I hope it gives him the confidence to kick on and be that No1 that we need and he wants to be.
  9. A little misleading if you go by the latest rolling averages. For example Cam about 6.4 when this years real figure is under 5 whilst Steve Worrall 4.2 when this year actually above 8. Im sure we will see every Monarchs fan on this thread make a similar doom and gloom prediction whilst privately expecting another straightforward victory.
  10. The rain in the last 24 hours has been incredible but the weather shows a gradual improvement all the way to an expected dry Thursday pm and evening so no reason to expect anything other than a top notch race strip. Need all 7 to bring their 'A'game for this one. Im going for a 47-43 Witches win.
  11. Having been born in 1971 I was probably too young to realise how good he really was as I grew up. It was only as I got older and learned more about the sports history that I was able to appreciate his true position in British speedway folklore. RIP Simmo.
  12. 6th place and a 4 week purple patch is all it takes. Not as easy as it is to just say it but perfectly possible
  13. Caught up with the result late after seeing Dick and Dom at Butlins and al I can say is BOGIES!! Well done to the Diamonds and Danny in particular.
  14. so you are saying Wells is 1 poor showing away from the chop.If not then a double change upto a total of just over 10 pts
  15. bizarrely I think a redclaration to the original team would now be over the limit!!
  16. Wont do Jasons ribs much good if he fails to catch Lens beech ball. wink
  17. As Im away I havent seen the article but on a general basis Id say this - the first and most important stage in solving a problem is to identify what it is and acknowledge it exists. After that whilst it may not be easy at least you give yourself a chance of doing something about putting it right. Well done Rohan for getting that first bit sorted and lets hope that everyone who can gives him the support he needs.
  18. sorry fella new team is over the limit - multiple changes and not like for like so would need to come back under 42.50 which this one doesnt.
  19. Also Worky havent announced a redeclaration so until that becomes effective the existing line up remains with Mills in it officially.
  20. everyone bar the kids already married and they are cousins and only aged 6-11 so no wedding -we're not from Norfolk you know!
  21. and nanny grandad two sets of brother/sister in law and 4 of the boys cousins. She would lynch me!
  22. I know you meant the weather but turned out to be the team performance! In all seriousness though it doesnt mean Worky are a bad side. Look at my Witches side who have regrouped after a an awful run to show real character. Worky are more than capable of that but just not showing it right now. I think it sums up the PL this year - there are a lot of really competitive sides and there will be plenty of this type of result.
  23. I think you are reading negativity into it that simply isnt there. From what I see all the boys get on great - genuine friends rather than just team mates. I think it was meant as a 'well done Rohan - we knew youd come good' rather than an 'about time' dig.
