Wolverhampton v Poole. Prem A. 23/4/18
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That doesnt count he doesnt ride for Poole Lets be honest so far Woryna hasnt done much 6 being his best score in 4 matches. Came with a lot of hype as a future GP star. This is the issue with the Poles as none of their best stuff is here and Poole will be low down on his list of priorities. I know he has only had 4 matches and could get better but its not a good start. -
Poole should get a point at Lynn. If they don’t then there is issues for sure
-
Which is exactly what everyone is doing now. Shovlar was the biggest culprit telling everyone how Poole were going to smash everyone so when your getting beat as easily as you are right now then you have to take all the stuff that comes your way. If you can’t take it don’t dish it out

Just a few little gems

Wolverhampton v Poole. Prem A. 23/4/18
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As I said on paper Poole looked like the best team but with huge risks and one of those risks has yet to ride this season! The poles haven’t done anything yet. Woryna was going to put 3-4 points on his average and I’ve yet to see any indication that will happen. Linus has been poor and so to has Josh really and Kurtz is not living up to a number one role yet. Poole were built top heavy hence Shanes is in and I still see people saying he should go lol. Look at Swindon also built top heavy and Davey has done nothing yet they are still winning matches because the top boys are banging in the points so Davey can be carried a bit.....which the Poole top boys are not doing at the moment Timo Lahti is on standby..... -
Wolverhampton v Poole. Prem A. 23/4/18

Correct, every track has racing lines that the home team know best but yes its all about being able to control a bike and not just be a throttle jockey. Look at Mark Loram, could ride any track, fast ones like Exeter but good at Wolves , Eastbourne and Arena, Darcy Ward was good at Arena to. Unfortunately some riders have a mental block before they even ride there -
Peterborough v Ipswich CS Tuesday 24th April
Gavan replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not that i was going to this or that i live in Peterborough but im in Chelmsford and we have had 5 days including today of sunshine im a little bit surprised that this is off. How long is Peterborough to Ipswich and hour and a half? I fully understand that we have had those weeks of awful weather so meetings were cancelled in advance but this seems a bit strange -
But thats the way the Poole team has been built this year. You cant go top heavy like Poole have with Kurtz, Holder and Josh and Linus as 4 heat leaders yet be strong in reserve. If Shanes gets 3 or 4 a meeting he will have done his job. The problem at Poole is that the top boys are not doing there job
-
So Poole wait all winter for the Polish ruling so they can bring in Sundstrom..................then he has average meetings in his first 3 and Poole ditch him!!
-
Are you that thick that you compare form abroad to form over here. So your happy Brady gets 14 in Poland and then bangs in 3 or 4 on Monday....prat. Wasnt you telling everyone how amazing Woryna is in Poland beating top riders but over here he cant beat Bellego or Eliis or Starke. I hope your boys keep banging in big scores abroad and riding poor for Poole.....maybe its a management issue
-
Ah you missing me. Havent seen you on the Poole thread another new name for someone. Funnily enough i was out with my children last night its what parents do. Is the sport all about winning trophys then or is that the Poole mantra , win at all costs. Im happy to see my team race and will support them through thick and thin......unlike many Poole fans who disappear when they start to lose. And lets be fair Poole have a vast majority of morons on here so the Poole threads are such fun
-
No you dont. 3-4 meetings is fine to assess a riders form. If they are new to this country like Woryna then yes they need longer to be assessed. Kurtz is not in form simple as that. 15, 7 and 3 is not the scores of a rider who is in form. I dont expect it to last as Kurtz is a better rider than that but right now he isnt riding well. I think he may put to much pressure on himself at times. Seems to make mistakes or blow races when the pressure is on. Aussie champs this season prime example, apart from an engine failure he only lost one qualifying race yet blew every final , either falling or knocked Holder off in one as well i think. If he cuts out the silly errors and doesnt put to much on himself then he could go far. With regards him and Morris, Brady reminds me of a young Crump and Morris a young Adams....Morris more in control but Kurtz more likely to go on to better things and be the better rider

Lakeside v Redcar frid 20th April 8pm
Gavan replied to waco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nothing wrong with the Lakeside track, riders just need to learn to adapt better, not every track should be fast flat out racing. Watching Mark Loram wind it on on the big Polish tracks and Peterborough and Exeter but then also proving to be a master of Eastbourne and Arena shows riders can adapt -
Hougaard for Worrall is laughable Steve had started the season flying and on a low average that he looked like improving he will be nigh on impossible to replace. Nobody is saying he is a world champion just on an average that he looked like improving on and to replace that with someone else who could improve isnt easy and it certainly wouldnt be Hougaard!! As an example Howarth at Wolves looks on a low average , same for Ellis at Swindon. If either of those got injured i would say they would be more difficult to replace than either Thorsell or Morris for example.
-
How does his 5 points at Swindon show where he is lol How about Kurtz 7 away and 3 at home ......guessing though as he rides for Poole that doesnt show 'where he is'
-
Im sure Brady will be ok eventually but on paper he was the weakest number one in the league and at the moment he isnt doing much to change that. Shouldnt be hard for Holder to push for number one as nobody from Kurtz, Josh and Linus seem capable of it

Belle Vue V Poole SGB Prem. A. 16th April 2018
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wouldnt expect either Tungate or Bjerre to pass PK once he hit the front. But worrying how the front 3 were grouped together and Pooles number one on a tactical ride actually lost ground as the race went on -
And you dont troll lol Holder wouldnt do any better than PK so why would you want Holder to ride? He wasnt treated abysmally he threw his dummy out same as Batch did. I like Holder but you dont hold a team or the sport to ransom simple as that. Kings Lynn wont lose patience with Iversen........................maybe Poole need to look at replacing Kurtz with a proper number one.....shame someone like Nick Morris isnt available

Poole v Swindon SGB Prem A. 18th April 2018
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is way to early for any club to start talking about changes but how far do you let things go? At Ipswich so far Covatti and Heeps have been awful. Nico is coming back from a season out and Cam was flying last year. But they had an awful track to contend with at home to Peterborough which didnt suit racers, and then going to Lakeside which they both hate. Im sure my club will stand by them. As i said at the start of the season there was a lot of risks in this 1-7. The risks were if the Poles could produce their form, If Linus came back as strong as was, If Holder was still up to it. So far Poole have had a big success in Kildemand. There is no way Holder can do any better than PK so as long as he gets the same thats fine. The Poles have done their job i would say but nothing spectacular and with the way the team is built so to is Shanes. The problem with Poole is Brady so far has not lived up to his number one status. A maximum in the first meeting against a team missing their 2 best riders at Poole and a third heat leader in Fricke who doesnt go that well at Poole, masking over poor returns in his next 2 matches. I dont care how bad the track is a number one cant get 3 at home. Sundstrom to has shown nothing like he can do. The Poles havent yet got going really, Woryna managing only 6, 6 and 5. To be honest thats what i pretty much expected but we were told he would be a heat leader. Im sure it will come right but as i said lots of risks before a wheel was turned and to me those risks are still there -
Poole v Swindon SGB Prem A. 18th April 2018
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shut up It was Burntfaceman that made the remark about lack of passing from Swindon riders not Shovlar I merely pointed out that from updates it seemed only 3 riders made passes, PK, Ellis and Batchelor and i merely pointed out 2 of those were Swindon riders. Shovlar to be fair posted a post saying that most of the passes were in the first and second bend. Neither me or Shovlar wrote anything antagonistic to each other. I didnt 'yammer on' about Steves opinion. Pretty obvious the track was poor with a lack of passing. My response was to Burntfaceman saying that no Swindon riders did any passing when they did. Pretty fed up with everything i write being jumped on by morons like you -
Rye you might get something but i cant see the Poles liking it much. Kurtz has gone well there and Sundstrom used to race there. Dont think Josh likes it and has PK ever ridden there?
-
I get that but its better to have points in the bag rather than be having matches in hand. Didnt realise apologies. So they have to go to Wolves and Rye which will be hard tracks to get anything from, Swindon which after Monday will be tough, and then the chance maybe of points at Lynn
-
Am i right in reading that Pooles next 5 fixtures are all away Wolves, Kings Lynn, Somerset, Swindon and Rye? Poole could be quite a way off the pace with possibly only Kings Lynn and Somerset likely to offer chances of any points

Poole v Swindon SGB Prem A. 18th April 2018
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not correct according to people who were there and updates Heat 7 - PK passed Batch Heat 10 - Batch passed Woryna and Ellis passed both Woryna and Kurtz ( now correct me if im wrong but they are both Swindon riders?) Heat 13 - PK passed Morris and Musielek Heat 14 - Ellis passed both MS and Sundstrom (again im sure Ellis is a Swindon rider) Heat 15 - PK passed Batch Now correct me if im wrong thats 2 Swindon riders who made passes and only 1 Poole rider. I gather it was gaters paradise but if 2 Swindon riders can pass its a bit poor that only 1 Poole rider can manage it
