  1. Kyles improvement has been marginal at best. When you look at Steve Worrall and Jason Garrity they have left Newman a fair way behind. And to be fair i think Ellis will as well Paul Starke has also improved and is as good if not better than Newman. I would rank Newman in the same bracket as Auty really as not really kicking on. You say he had injuries so that held him back a bit. Ok then thats fair enough but if we saw the real Newman in the play offs where he was sensational then you must see how any average below 4 would be farcical I like the way you say 3.79 is about right then say he spent basically the whole season at reserve??? Well he averaged 5.52 from that reserve position yet somehow you think he should have that reduced down??? You make no sense! Granted he spent a few meetings in the top 5 so use a calculation to bring it down to say 5. Would love to know how you get to the thought that a rider averages 5.52 , is improving (so you say) yet should have his average reduced by over 1.5 points to race against the riders he beat last season! How on earth does that make any sense
  2. im not the one saying Kyle Newman should be on a 3.79 average! It's mainly 1 Poole fan and I'm saying he should be about 5. I highlighted other riders with premier conversions and Joe Jacobs on 3.02 is a steal for sure. Kyle Newman can not ride elite league on a 3.79 average
  3. Out of this seasons team we have 3 riders who HAVE to be back King, Covatti and Hume I would keep 1 of Risager or Sarjeant. That leaves 3 spaces. Personally i love to watch Ben but he is off to pastures new apparantly Where do we get those others from? Dont want to go back down the Heeps route personally. What would Gino come back on? Need to find that big scoring third heat leader from somewhere!! King Covatti Kennett Sarj ? ? Hume
  4. Kyle Newman finished on 5.52 Apart from what 6 meetings? (a guess) he got that average from the reserve berth If it was solely gained form the reserve berth then it shouldnt change and thankfully the powers that be have said as much Still some harp on about premier league conversion...............it isnt going to happen!! Deduct Kyles average form the top 5 and if Poole want him as a reserve his average should be no less than 5. If Poole want him as a second string then yes do some sort of conversion and he should be about 4-4.5 Please can the same people stop going on and on about him being 3.79 in the reserve berth next season as it simply isnt going to happen
  5. Shovlar yet again showing his lack of knowledge. Newman achieved his average from RESERVE!!! barring about 5 meetings. So he averaged 5.6 less his time in the main team makes him about a 5. To be fair it is only 1 Poole fan that still thinks the premier league conversion is in place for next season lol
  6. who said 5.5? But if Garrity averages 6 from a second string then Newman should be a 5 and Ellis obtained a higher average than Kyle from more second string rides so should be at least the same. Poole will be lucky to have 1 of them at reserve but it will be impossible to have both. The premier league conversion won't be happening as we all know so you can forget any thought of 3.79 as that can't happen. Newman averaged 5.6 from mainly the reserve berth so to put him at 3.79 is a mockery of the sport. Somewhere between the 2 would be about right. Joe Jacobs on a 3.00 is what you are asking for if you think Newman or Ellis should be under 4.
  7. no it will be somewhere between 4.5 and 5.5 I would guess which is exactly what it should be. Not a cat in hells chance it will be under 4. Bout time he was a second string anyway
  8. Everybody knows and it has been well documented that they won't use the premier league conversion. Except one person seems to think they will and keeps banging that drum hoping someone will listen lol. Haven't checked the away matches but Kyle only rode 3 home matches in the top 5 scoring 6 , 5 and 2. Take those scores out of his average and then you have a true average for him.
  9. Newman must have rode 90% of the meetings at reserve. It's simple enough to calculate what he averaged as second string and convert it. One thing is certain it won't be his premier average converted spot on
  10. Newman and Ellis on 4.5 is a far truer reflection
  11. no they won't do a u turn why should they? There will be a new conversion in place and it won't be premier league conversions. It would be farcical to see Newman at reserve for the 7th season in a row. Newman and Ellis will be between 4.5 and 5.5 as they should be.
  12. Its already been mentioned that they wont be using premier league conversions again so not a cat in hells chance Newman will be below 4 points
  13. You dont have any riders there that should be a reserve? Your heat leaders come to just over 24 points. 4 riders to fill 16 points? Gomolski and Batchelor and Bjerre over 5 Milik over 6 Ellis and Newman and Starke all over 4 Holder also likely need to be 4 or more. Like to see how you would fill those last 4 spots
  14. They could but Sarg and Morten apart the rest of our boys arent exactly known for their trapping prowess but the track didnt play to the strengths of anyone who tried to find some grip
  15. The track was awful tonight in my opinion. No line out wide and we have Covatti and Barker who tried to find the dirt and got nowhere. King tried it to attack Wright and got passed by Starke. Listening to the chat in the pits all Rohan and the Somerset boys did was set up the bikes to be quick away then they just couldnt be caught.
  16. Interesting conversation in the pits with a certain rider saying how nice it is to beat Ipswich, the home riders hate the place as it's different every week and it's boring follow the leader speedway! Anyway well done Rebels deserve to win. Great from Wright and impressed with Shanes as well. Could be our number 7 next year?
  17. Milik is the same as Woffinden they have an average over here that quite rightly should be used irrelevent of their form. Madsen has been away longer than 2 years do quite rightly needs to be reassessed and he should be a 7. Tai didnt need to be reassessed he had an average from 2 years ago.
  18. if you read my post I put the word 'unlikely' in it. I think it is very 'unlikely' that Holder , Andersen , Buck and Pedersen will be at Poole next season. It's my opinion that's all and up for debate. I just remarked that it would be a time for Poole to rebuild
  19. is this the same Milik and Madsen who both finished above Lindback in the European Champs because if it is then they quite clearly are up to Lindbackd level. Milik has an average so that should stick but Madsen has to be a 7. Doubt he would ride over here though. Looks like a difficult time for Poole. Holder, Andersen, Buck, Pedersen all unlikely to be with the club plus doubts over Ellis. Could be the first big rebuild in a long time.
  20. Correct But as i said if the rule is premier league conversion then Jacobs will be on 3.22 which is ridiculously low for the way he rides his home track but maybe to high for the way he rides some away tracks. Either way he may improve at some places so 3.22 is a good base for your number 7 Adam Ellis rode more of the season in the main body than Newman and averaged more by 0.08 Therefore he must have a higher average next season than Newman (laughable how Shovlar reckons it should be 3.00!) Convert Ellis to Newmans premier average and add on 0.08 (elite league difference) would convert to 4.12 which in my view would be to low for someone who is better than Newman and able to hold team a second string role
  21. Im not saying they should all be reassessed but it has to be a level playing field across the board. If you are going to convert the EDR riders from Premier league averages then it has to be all of them. Steve Worrall is a better rider than Kyle Newman so he should have a higher average. But if you are going to have Newman on 3.79 then Worrall gets his average converted as well. Joe Jacobs has an elite league average almost the same as his premier league one. (5.36 and 5.14). He gained his elite league average from the reserve berth only, so should he be 5.14 next season?? No is the answer. He should be 3.22 with the conversion. You cant just convert 1 or 2 EDR riders you have to do all of them and in Belle Vues case they would have had a right touch!
  22. My list above Ok remove Masters , Richie Worrall, and Tungate and the other averages should be correct then. Jacobs and Worrall look a steal to me! Ok so if a rider rides here on a 5 average at the start of his career, doesnt ride here for 5 years, and in that time then becomes a top gp rider you think its ok to come back on a 5? Of course they have to be reassessed.
  23. Steve Worrall on 5.12 Richie Worrall on 5.00 Rohan Tungate on 5.42 Sam Masters on 5.40 Joe Jacobs on 3.21 Lewis Kerr on 3.69 Paul Starke on 3.97 Josh Auty on 4.26 Kyle Howarth on 4.68 Charles Wright on 3.95 All the above spent some time at reserve last season so i agree that if Kyle Newman is 3.79 then the above averages should also come into play. Has to be a level playing field across the board
  24. This was my post in reply to someone who said that Kyle passed Tai and that Tai was only a second string Glad it made you chuckle, you obviously dont understand sarcasm or tongue in cheek. It was my response to the fact a rider of Newmans ability (i.e able to pass Tai on his home track and beating many heat leaders over the season) should be much higher than 3.79. If the rules allow him on that average then it makes a mockery of the league
