Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 6/4/16
Gavan replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ah bless you having a pop at Ipswich, nice try but i dont live there -
Is this debate still rumbling on??? Dudek had an engine failure. The primary cause of the stoppage was his engine failure its not rocket science. The secondary cause was Kildemand being unsighted and hitting him. By the way some people are talking is that if you get an engine failure you just cruise round on the racing line hoping someone smacks into you. Then the person that smacks into you is excluded and you can get in the re-run!! Im sure some people dont actually watch the sport or have no idea. you need to understand the sport a bit more then if you believe that the engine failure wasnt the PRIMARY cause of the stoppage. just answer me one question. Who should have been excluded if the rider in 2nd hit Dudek as he was closer? Understand the term primary cause of the stoppage and then you will understand why Kildemand shouldnt have been excluded. Of course Kildemand wasnt aware he couldnt see!! He pulled out to get a faster line into the bend or do you simply think he intentionally raced into another rider at full speed??? I also believe Kildemand can be reckless but that has no bearing on this incident! If Dudek didnt have an engine failure would the race have been stopped?? No, so therefore his engine failure led to the stoppage thus making him the primary cause
-
I cant believe people say it was the right decision. Ok say Dudek lost power like he did and Kildemand was right behind him, literally on his exhaust, and ploughs into him. Surely then the cause of the stoppage is Dudek and not the rider right behind him who had nowhere to go!!!! The only difference here is Kildemand was further back but the cause of the stoppage was Dudek stopping and because he stopped a rider hit him who blatantly couldnt see him.

Edinburgh Vs Berwick Fri 8th
Gavan replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Id fancy Wethers to outscore Clegg and if Mellgren is back to any sort of form then he is more than capable of outscoring Riss. Cant see Etheridge and Bewley getting more than 6 between them and i think their opposite numbers should be good for 11 or more. Wethers to outscore Clegg by 4 and Riss and Mellgren to get similar. So i think the bottom 4 of Berwick will outscore your bottom 4 by 12. The heat leaders of Edinburgh have the ability to pull that back but by how much can they win by? I think Edinburgh will win but only by 6 or 7. Depends on Fisher for me -

Bless him does his brain capacity allow him to do two such hard working jobs -
sorry im all for opinions but how in gods name can you exclude Kildemand???? I admit at times Kildemand can be a bit ruthless and sometimes a tad dangerous but he was blameless here. Dudek breaks down, Kildemand couldnt possibly have seen him and hits him they crash. Dudek has to be excluded. If you believe Kildemand should have been excluded then you think he must of deliberatly rode into him at that speed!!!

All depends on how many Sam and Wolbert can score. The bottom end of Berwicks team (Pijper, Mellgren, Wethers and Carr) should walk all over the weak bottom 4 of Edinburgh (Etheridge, Riss, Clegg and Bewley) All depends if Jorgensen , Doolan and Alden can keep tabs on the top 3 of Edinburgh. -

cant see Holder getting anywhere near the top 3 and Magic needs to kick on this season 1. Woffinden 2. Pedersen 3. Doyle (if he can cut out the reckless rides) 4. Iversen 5. Hancock 6. Janowski 7. Kildemand 8. Zmarzlik 9. Jonsson 10. Holder 11. Zagar 12. Lindback 13. Hampel. 14. Harris 15. Pawlicki -
Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April
Gavan replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
your not allowed to say that! How dare you suggest the loss of Cook and Sedgeman , and replace them with a has been and an untried young Aussie, makes them weaker , and have an opinion they wont make the play offs! -

and yet again you resort to childish stupidity. Poole had shocking crowds in the times they were crap, and yes so did Ipswich in the last few years in the Elite league. Stop thinking Poole are bigger and better than anyone else and have a think before you engage your so called brain. Poole have a promoter that knows how to build a side and put bums on seats and lets face it there is naff all else to do in Poole so it shouldnt be that hard to promote. You are successful now but when you arent again the fans will leave same as they do at any other club. -
Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April
Gavan replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
you believe that do you?? Cook, Masters and Wolbert , 3 of the top heat leaders plus Sedgeman, who is good enough to be a heat leader in every other side. Add in Riss , who is world longtrack champion so hardly a novice although likely to take time and 2 solid reserves. You think that team looked weak on paper??? They were picked by everyone to win the league -
Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April
Gavan replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oh do you mean im basing it on this 1 meeting or basing it on what i thought when the side was announced?? Because if you check back over the threads ive said from day 1 that Edinburgh looked a poor outfit this season. Your loss Cook Sedgeman and Branford and replace them with 3 riders so inferior yet you expect to be top of the league. Dont forget Masters scored what Cook would have done and you still get thrashed. Cook , Sedgeman and Branfords direct replacements scored a Grand Total of 5 points that sums up how difficult your season will be. Even if they improve i cant see them ever scoring more than 18-20 between the 3 and that simply will not be enough to win meetings and dont forget as good a rider as Masters is he wont get 15 plus every week. This isnt a pop at Edinburgh, although any negative word about them the fans are so precious, as i even tipped my side to finish 6th at best. Its called being a realist rather than just think you will win every season. However i do think Fisher is an awful signing he may prove me wrong -

Will be stunned if Poole dont hit 60 in this one -

Still confused how Monarchs fans think that was a decent performance! My team got beat at home by Scunthorpe no excuses its worrying for that to happen so a 20 point beating has to be a concern. Unless they make changes Edinburgh won't be in the play offs with that 1-7. Masters won't be dominant every week. As I sayd you replace Cook and Sedgeman and Branford with a has been in Fisher, an untried Aussie in Etheridge and a kid at reserve then you can't expect to be near the top of the league. -

At the track rain not stopped but not really heavy but no sign of it stopping -
Tai has been backed by all promotors on this as they understand his reasons. Chris Louis has gone on record as saying he would do the same thing in Tai's position Its just a few keyboard warriors on here who feel the need to have a go
-
well said that man!! the people moaning he isnt British because he is missing the british final find it an easy stick to use to beat him with. the bigger picture is completely different of course
-
How do you get to that chain of thought?? Think we all are a bit sick of the 'sheep' who come up with the same old same old same old he isnt British tosh. We have a 2x World Champion who grew up in a different country and people expect him to not care for that country. There were 1 or 2 people who used to say he wasnt British last season, and mainly because they arent Tai fans. He pulls out the British Final and suddenly all the 'sheep' or lemmings suddenly feel that is the stick to bash him with, its pathetic really. You are spot on. I know for a fact that in 1999 Mark Loram rode as a wildcard and did i think 5 of the 6 rounds and lost money and he actually won in Sweden that year. The guys at the bottom lose money its well known they do. It was worse in the days of 2 rides and go home but to say all 15 of next years riders make money out of the series is rubbish
-
You got no chance trying to explain to those who simply bury their heads and go along with a few lemmings. As ive said if you dislike Tai then fine but the blind and dumb who follow the herd and trot out the ' he is an Aussie' line are just a tad clueless
-
you for whatever reason have a huge chip on your shoulder. Read my posts i never said he wasnt eligible to ride for Australia. He loves the country he grew up in whats wrong with that? I was born in a place called Osborne Park in Perth in 1976. I was 7 months old when i come home so if i was doing what Tai did then i would ride for Australia as i was born there. However i feel that i am English, i was born to 2 English parents and lived here 39 years. Tai chose to ride for GB as he feels he is English. Of course he will hang around Aussie riders he grew up with them!!! Jason Crump was born here but to Australian parents, he sees himself as Australian. You are just spouting ignorant rubbish. By all means dislike Tai but your daft stance that he is more an Aussie than a Brit is a cheap and ignorant shot
-
The elite league this season is the worst i have ever seen. 2 or 3 genuine world class riders and then 4 or 5 decent performers. The third heat leaders are made up of riders who 10 years ago would struggle to be Premier league number ones. Are you serious? Lambert isnt even 18 yet?? He lacks ability out the gate and that might hold him back but how you can question that he hasnt pushed on is unreal. What are you expecting him to be Kings Lynns number 1???
-
100% spot on mate. We might not agree about everything (i.e Newman & Garrity) but at least i know i can have a debate with yourself. because he is the same as i am frustrated by the sheer volume of people who are not intelligent to understand what is going on and simply jump on the Aussie/Not British line that people either to dumb or unable to think for themselves use. No issue with people not liking Tai, I wasnt a fan of Tatum, but to use his nationality as the stick to beat him with shows a lack of intelligence. Again i tell people look at the dates of the semis and the final!! Anyone with half a brain can understand why he isnt riding
