  1. the ruts were not a problem, surely you have seen meetings run on far far worse tracks then that even some under water. The fact remains if the starting tapes hadn't failed the meeting would have continued
  2. Can only see this being a comfortable home win by around 20 points. R/R is no good to cover a top rider so getting in Harris should make Poole hot favourites
  3. not what im saying. Forget Janowski. Im talking about whoever replaces Holder at 1 while he goes to 2. If it was say KK or Tai or Ward then of course its an issue. But effectively he is replaced at 1 by a rider who isnt his equal or better so i cant se how Holder at 2 benefits Poole that much. I know that when its heat 13 i would still rather have Holder and Magic out there then Watt and Magic.. The points Holder gains at 2 will be counter balanced by Watt having harder rides. Might get away with it at home but not away. Unless Poole make changes they could struggle for top 4. Coventry, Belle Vue and Kings Lynn look certs for the top 4 and Wolves have started well to
  4. I have no issue with Holder riding at 2 if thats what his average dictates. It makes no difference if Holder rides at 2 and bangs in 13 if his replacement at 1 doesnt score much. It only becomes an issue if the rider at is world class which Watt isnt
  5. what a pathetic attempt at trolling Lambert has to be in. And Cook shouldnt
  6. Firstly well done Sheffield. Our problems stem from Cam and Rohan struggling at home and Richie struggling everywhere
  7. As i said pretty irrelevent Holder riding at number 2 if the person replacing him doesnt score that well, as proved by Watt yesterday. Magic is a massive loss for Poole but the dreadful inconsistency of the others is proving an issue.
  8. I think we all are fed up with the way Poole try to run the sport for their own benefit. Back to the match and with no Janowski and a badly out of form Holder i can only see a fairly comfortable home win
  9. So basically after god knows how many pages of waffle it seems that the majority of us were right all along. The riders got the meeting called off because of the situation of the starting gate. The fact that the track was tricky then was used as a very convenient smokescreen to get the meeting called off.
  10. I think we all want to see the real Holder back. However surely his confidence would come back quicker on a track he knows is safe and decent
  11. I disagree on this a bit as the track surely cant be helping. Granted he had a huge smash and yes his confidence has to be low. But if he is racing on a decent surface he would probably be more inclined to 'have more of a go' On the ploughed field of Wimborne Road he doesnt feel at ease on the track and will certainly not have the confidence to try anything. If he makes the gate he seems fine at Poole. if he misses it then he doesnt seem to want to mix it on a poor track.
  12. im assuming your joking. Even you can't be that thick to believe what you just wrote.
  13. nice to see an unbiased report from a Poole fan and congratulating Belle Vue. One of Pooles biggest issues is the track and quite clearly it's affecting Holder
  14. Well done Belle Vue what a cracking result. EF for Zagar cost them the win. Still issues with Holder not dominating meetings like he should
  15. God you speak crap. I would as ive said before love a rider like Cook in my team and this year we have one in King. If Cook guests for us, even though he isnt liked at Ipswich, we would applaud him if he did well for us, we are not as fickle as Edinburgh fans. Masters is a class act on and off the track and would be much welcomed as a guest. There are many footballers i dont like but if they signed for my club i would applaud them if they did the job but still doesnt mean they are my favourite people spot on. If Cook guested and got anywhere from 12-15 we would applaud . If he scored 8 or so then he hasnt done his job and would quite rightly not be cheered
  16. No problem and not obsessed. However year after year Edinburgh are up the top of the league and Cook is in the top 3 riders in the league , so as my club is a rival to yours i think i have every right to go on your thread and comment as i see fit. Do you not like discussing your club? You should be flattered people want to talk about Edinburgh. All people are commenting on is the lack of grace from a number of your fans who cannot accept a defeat but yet crow from the rooftops when they win
  17. Thats where your wrong. At my club Ipswich we have match reports and yes it does focus on our riders but it also manages to congratulate the other side and also see the shortcomings of our own side. Right now Hawkins is under fire in the match reports even allowing for his injury. A more balanced article would be to say how Cook and Masters couldnt really dominate and Cook was on the wrong end of 5-1's so well done to Workington. While a club and SOME of its fans revel in winning then appear sore losers then you will keep getting stick Sorry i forgot this was an open forum. Must remember just to post on my own team. And if you care to have a look ive posted recntly on Swindon, Kings Lynn, Coventry, Poole, Rye House, Somerset and Sheffield but you just stick to your agenda. so you say im on the Edinburgh thread then you comment its a forum! nice contradiction
  18. Totally agree. Real fans are the ones that come on and take a defeat as it shoud be taken. Those who only gloat when they win but cant accept defeat are quite sad really
  19. I've just read that report. Such a bit bunch of bad losers never congratulate the other team. Loads of excuses when they get beat yet the other team is never allowed any! Still at least Cook flew round his old track.......oh wait a sec.
  20. this was against a side whose number one could my score, there riders at 2 and 4 were poor and had a reserve who scored zero! To only win by 8 is pretty poor and if Sargeant was riding Glasgow would possibly have won
  21. You will not get a proper answer. We know he is as thick as .... He will come back with something like ' if you dont know yourself dont ask' or something about me He makes a pri.k of himself everytime he is on here but he is good for comedy purposes and right on cue comes the idiot with the usual response lol
  22. black and white as in the riders got it abandoned when it basically should of continued Because Poole had enough points by then to win the league. stop going over old ground
  23. Seriously people this is so black and white im confused by the comments. 1. The start tapes failed. This meant the riders had to use the green light. Not ideal in any meeting let alone a grand prix. However what this meant was that in actual fact the starts seemed fairer, which some riders did not agree with. 2. Temporary tracks in the main have never been much good , they generally tend to rut up. The fact is that the track wasnt dangerous at all, just a couple of issues caused by the track nothing major. 3.The riders 'walked out' of the meeting. Nobody called a halt this was rider power. Forget the crap and garbage of all the people towing the party line, the meeting should of continued. If we see a track later in the series where riders are hitting ruts all the time and the meeting continues then there needs to be repurcussions for all the riders. The track was difficult but the main issue seemed to be the start gate not the track ignore the troll mate.
  24. Is that the one where it was atrociuosly wet conditions bordering on waterlogged, and if you went off the line you slid off? Or was it the one where a couple of riders hit ruts and the one guy who was struggling to stay on had a bad wrist anyway You cant compere the 2 meetings at all for track conditions. That British Final was far more dangerous than the gp in Warsaw i have no idea what the conditions were in this meeting. wet or rutty?
  25. Cant believe this thread is still running? Its obvious as to why the meeting was stopped yet some still cant or refuse to see it. The riders are simply a disgrace to the sport for getting it stopped I truly believe if we had no isue with the starting gate the meeting would have carried on. Look at the reports form Lynn where quite clearly riders were lifting after hitting a rut and losing positions. This is sppedway not riding round on a billiard table. Cant see anybody saying that Lynn should have been called off. As i say i await to see what happens at Cardiff as that notoriously cuts up pretty badly. I can name plenty of incidents at Cardiff where the track has caused problems. Anyone remember Crump collecting 2 ruts on the last corner AND straight and he bounced off the fence almost collecting Nicholls? This is a hard and dangerous sport and we are grateful thes boys put on a show for us, but do we all want to see follow my leader on nice smooth slick tracks? Im sure the riders of yester year, Collins , Morton even more recently Loram, are finding the whole thing quite pathetic
