Went last night for only the second time this season Yet again we were just awful out of the gate, consistently beaten to the first bend Ive no idea why we have carried on with Harris he is just awful. Made one gate and even then Batchelor passed him like he was standing still. KP looked woeful and Allen certainly struggled. But as that Pinny thing reminded me , you cant have riders out of form, well at the moment Allen, Lawson and KP are out of form and maybe low on confidence. Swindon proved why they are favourites for the league. A top 5 that no other side can match. Doyle and Batchelor cruised through the meeting never looked any chance of them being beaten. Musielek was fast and Jensen looks a find. Special mention for Ellis Perks.....his score did not reflect his riding, was on the pace in every race and looks a decent rider Nobody will want this side in the play offs , at this rate nobody will get close to them. Im hopeful that we can still sneak in but the management need to make changes or the season will just blow up totally We have 5 matches left...home and away v Swindon where we will get nothing from..................home and away v Poole where we could get a home win.............home v Peterborough which now becomes a must win match. That will leave us on 39 points meaning Wolves will need to get 10 points and with away trips to Belle Vue and Poole to come i cant see it. Looking at the matches left i can see Swindon maybe even getting top spot and then they would pick us. Ive been saying on here for a long time Swindon are the best side in the league with the best manager....looking good for the Robins

Exactly how far back do you go Cook wasnt 100% responsible for the fight that ensued.....some are just either lacking in intelligence or simply Cook haters to accept what happened -

Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Cook is known to react to being wound up The Eastbourne presenter/management did just that in a deliberate manner. The same way a footballer will wind up an opponent with a short fuse to gain an advantage Cook sulked and rode off But as i said he wouldnt have rode off if not antagonised He wouldnt have thrown any punches if the marshall didnt walk out in front of him Not condoning Cooks actions, but to say he was responsible for the fight is rather blinkered to what made him be in that position in the first place -

And the Glasgow riders wouldnt have ridden off if they hadnt been goaded by the presenter and the Eastbourne promotion.......end of -

Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wrong Cook should never have rode off during the presentation.....100% he was wrong If the marshall hadnt have stepped on to the middle of the track and walked into Cook then Cook wouldnt have kicked off........Cook was 100% wrong again to kick of the way he did But was Cook at fault for the fracas? No the marshall was...............granted if Cook hadnt have rode off the marshall wouldnt have been there........but if the marshall stayed in the right position its more than likely Cook would have simply stopped and nothing more would have happened apart from Cook getting a word in his ear which may well have come from his own management. How far back do you want to take things to assess who was to blame? If you believe Cook was at fault for the fracas........then go back to the reason Cook left the parade........the deliberate act of stirring things up on the microphone from the Eastbourne presenter and the Eastbourne management team So those who think Cook was at fault need to then equally apportion blame on the people who dished out the stick on the mic. The reason a scuffle broke out was because of an over zealous marshall getting in the way.......without him no scuffle.................without the Eastbourne promotion deliberately winding up someone who they no is a bit volatile , then Cook wouldnt have left the parade....the marshall wouldnt have needed to be on the track....the scuffle would never have happened As i said if you think Cook caused the fighting ....then go back to why Cook was on the track in the first place -

He was going very slow and was slowing down and would have never caused an issue to anyone on the back straight Eastbournes statement just deflects everything away from them....right up to saying marshalls with the flags were at the edge of the track -

What a pathetic attempt form Eastbourne to obviously detract from their part in the melee Cant see why Edward got his ban!!! He rides for my club in the top league but you cant run 30 yards and then launch yourself and scrap with people! The funniest bit is where they say that Cook hadnt slowed down at all.........he was doing about 10mph on the video....and the marshalls were 'at the side of the track'....quite clearly they all werent Cook and Glasgow rightly taking a large portion of the blame.........but how about punches thrown from Paul Dugard and a headbutt on Vissing from his brother Ive no allegience to wither side but its farcical from Eastbourne that statement -

Gavan replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Absolutely spot on 100% You can look at three criteria and i will give you 3 answers..... but if you are discussing best rider ....its Tai if we talking about British only Favourite to watch...........Mark Loram Most naturally talented...........Loram, Ward, K.Moran, Screen, Gollob, Lee, Collins , Carter Best Ever..........Rickardsson, Nielsen, Mauger, Woffinden -
Why would Kings Lynn get Josh G? Firstly he rides for Poole and we know how good Poole riders are riding for other sides ....cant be trusted Secondly he has been average in his last 2 visits (admittedly once as a a guest) Not sure who else is available but surely Bjerre is a much better bet than Josh

The lack of 'entertainment' as you call it was only because the track was greasy and the opposition was poor. However im guessing you didnt watch the meeting at all. Heat 3: Andersen and Morris.... 2 passes Heat 4: Masters passed Douglas and Nicholls...and then Nicholls passed Douglas.....3 passes Heat 5: Tungate and Morris .... 3 passes Heat 7: Howarth and Wright .... 2 passes Heat 8: Procter passed Summers...1 pass Heat 9: Nicholls passed Schlein .....1 pass Heat 11: Howarth passed Tungate ....and then Masters passed Tungate.... 2 passes Heat 13: Masters passed Nicholls.... 1 pass Heat 14: Morris passed Andersen.... 1 pass 16 passes in 15 heats.....and 6 heats only with no action The only rider i saw wobbling was Porsing.......cant remember any others wobbling as you put it The inside was grippy because of the rain that had arrived...once or twice riders hit the grip and went wide Tungate in heat 13 madet the gate hit a bit of grip went wide and they all come up the inside of him...............nothing to do with him wobbling just simply picking up grip, happens in every meeting you see i would suggest, because it happened on the first bend against a high calibre of rider they all got up the inside The meeting was pretty good seeing the weather and the opposition....................seems like your yet again the only person with a differing opinion

Lions v Glasgow 17th August
Gavan replied to Happy Hunter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Glasgow will never be stronger going into any meeting without Cook and i would hazard a guess that Eastbourne would be the same without Kennett So in reality its the replacement for Vissing that could be the only issue -

Some people on here are laughable To have an opinion you have to back that opinion up with reasoning. My favourite rider ever was Mark Loram, right from the early days of being a mascot when my family helped to sponsor him right until his career ending crash Is Mark Loram better to watch then Tai? In my opinion yes...........was Mark a better rider than Tai......no....more naturally talented...maybe Those saying Lee was a 'better' rider than Tai isnt up for debate....he isnt Was Lee better than Tai to watch? Maybe....Was he more naturally talented? I believe so I think people get there judgement clouded by either being close to one rider or simply disliking the other I couldnt and still cant stand Gary Havelock......but he was a deserving world champion in 1992...it was his year he dominated with only Per Jonsson getting close....you cant take that away -

He wanted to give the younger riders a chance...something ignored by King and Harris Think Cook should be applauded -
If people prefer full throttle racing then thats fair enough....but to downright talk utter tripe that the passes were down to rider error is just trolling for the sake of it Wolves were up against the leagues poorest team and most predicted a thrashing........the torrential downpour before the meeting made the track very hard to ride and greasy. The fact remains that despite the poor opposition and the track there was passing in many many races......not rider error I get the fact its not everyones cup of tea...but a Poole and a Stoke fan moaning about another track lol

None caused by rider error....passing in most races.......im guessing you werent actually watching the racing Again .....none

Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final
Gavan replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ive been going to speedway for 38 years and ive never seen a marshall standing out in the middle of a track with a red flag Ive seen riders either buried in the fence or lying prostrate on the track and the red lights go on and the marshalls stand on the infield with flags out A red flag does not mean stop...........do riders stop at a red flag? No, they slow down expecting an incident to have occured. Cook was slowing and would no doubt have either left the track or stopped completely Im not condoning what Cook did next........but its absurd that neither the marshall or either Dugard have been reprimanded -

Dont like Cook, never have and never will........but the reaction on here by some is laughable We have had him 'flying' around the track endangering people on the back straight when quite clearly he was going about 10mph and slowing down (doesnt excuse the punched he threw later) We have been told he 'headbutted' the marshall..........simply a shoulder barge (again something that was out of order) Cook never should have been on the track...but also the reactions of messrs Dugard (plural) and Kennett seemed far worse then anything Cook done Yes Kennett races for my team but you cant excuse a rider who ran 30 yards to get involved in a scuffle. Cook and Kennett have got what they deserve but i agree with you , so many people on here going way over the top -

Not deplorable at all I had no idea Kennett was involved until i saw the incident a few days after on video, i also had no idea Vissing was involved either Chris isnt complaining that Kennett has a ban just the way it was handled Im guessing Chris wasnt told Eddie was under investigation -

Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes they were early season.........but at that time Poole had riders underperforming.........they now dont and are the in form side , i havent said they arent. But at the start of the season Holder, Worrall , and to a lesser extent Kurtz and Josh were out of form , Covatti had fans from Poole on here saying he should go. You honestly believe that some of Ipswich riders are riding to the level they did earlier? If they came back into form and a couple of the Poole riders dip a bit then we can beat them All riders go up and down in form.........i would say right now Fricke has gone off the boil. If , and its only if, Klindt and Holder have a dip in form then Poole will struggle like they did early on They are probably favourites now for the title but they are beatable and certainly not 'red hot' favourites as you claim. Poole did beat us because they were sharper out of the gates and their riders are in better form where as some of our have seen their form dip.....
