To tell someone to get their abacus out insinuates not being able to count Yep the figures may be more regular but if the leagues stay the same there will not be more.............. If Starman wants to debate regularity then fine.......................but why say use your abacus.........
-
Totally agree with all you said there We had a great time when we at Ipswich drooped down, far more variety and different tracks to visit
-
Forget the issues with sponsors there was other issues already at Poole. How then can a team that wins the league in 2018, see a reduction in season ticket sales the following season........did the club sit back and just feel the numbers would take care of themselves? All i can go by is what we at Ipswich do by going out into the community and promote that way..........maybe Poole did that i dont know. I would be stunned if after the success of this season if Ipswich saw a reduction in season tickets sold I would say that the change of race night was a huge reason....... If speedway moved from Thursdays at Foxhall im sure the crowd would drop
-
Says the person who thinks Poole will have more home fixtures if they drop down lol...............
-
Are you that thick!!!! Poole rode 12 league matches at home winning 10 losing 2 Leicester rode 10 league matches at home........winning all 10.............. Which team therefore rode the most matches???? Poole rode 3 matches at home in the supporters cup Leicester rode 3 matches at home in the championship shield Leicester rode 1 match at home in the KO cup Poole therefore had 15 home matches over the main season........and Leicester had 14............including the fact both teams made the play offs they will both have had 16 Now can you please show me how by dropping down you will have more fixtures..............so glads that the championship supporters now have to deal with a p1llock like you and a troll in Shovlar
-
Poole this season had 12 home fixtures plus the supporters cup which was an extra 3 meaning 15 fixtures at home Next year (if same size league) will be 10 plus the shield which is also 3 extra meetings meaning 13 fixtures at home They would then need to have at least 2 matches at home in the KO Cup to make it 15 again the same as this season You cant count the pairs and fours as they are at a neutral venue When Ipswich went down i enjoyed the variety of teams..................but you dont get more home fixtures dropping down unless you make the finals of the cups
-
The top division has 24 matches The second tier has 20 How do you explain that by dropping down you will have 'regular fixtures'??? Granted you will not see the same team twice ......but you will have less fixtures not more!
-
He is ................and so is Cam Word is that we have already spoke to Klindt as well
-
There must be some sort of cover up at Poole Had the best sponsors Had the best crowds One poor season and a loss of a sponsor and all of a sudden they have to drop down. Have all these years of chasing success and paying over the top money for the best riders finally broke the club that after one season there is nothing left to back it up? Matt Ford has put Poole in this position............he is a business man and now he isnt making any money he wants shot of it.

Ipswich v Poole Prem. 11/6/19
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Rare maybe......but we picked the right match The real Pirates wilted under the pressure Yes you can A full strength Pirates got done easily Perhaps complacency had set in. The Pirates just thought all they had to do was turn up and Witches would just roll over. Or perhaps they have been riding above themselves and tonight reality cut back in? Or perhaps Witches are lucky to have the best manager in the business who can motivate a team not expected to win. Hawkins is a very good man manager and knows just how to get the best out of a team. Whilst it was an impossible task on Monday, the Ipswich track is more similar to Wimborne Road in shape and size. He got them fired up from the start and determined to battle for every point. Perhaps Middlo hasn’t yet got that ability? Edited for accuracy.................... I can enjoy this all winter................ -
I feel the problem was that Poole were successful and thought that that would just keep happening You have to move forward with the times and Poole stood still............ Swindon and Ipswich two very good clubs at promoting themselves to get more crowds in Blimey ive even read that the success of Bournemouth football team hasnt helped this season!!!! Cant understand how because they have been in the top league a while now so that is no excuse I used to say Matt Ford was good for Poole.................not anymore it seems Reminds me of Leeds United under Peter Risdale

Who are your top five riders in 2019.
Gavan replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I cant agree about Steve Worrall, ended up over 6 but didnt push to be a heat leader. Disappointing seasons for the following: 1. Chris Harris.............signed as a number one but we all new he doesnt like Foxhall....didnt bring much to the table away from home either 2. David Bellego..........crazy signing in my opinion....would be good if every match was at Belle Vue 3. Josh Bates...........needs to probably retire in my opinion 4. Ricky Wells..........poor in the championship........poor for Belle Vue........very strange signing by Poole 5. Jack Holder/Brady Kurtz............combined these two together, only needed one of them to step up and maybe Poole could have done better and their performance at Ipswich was basically disgraceful and stuck 2 fingers up at the real Poole fans -
Cant believe Poole havent snapped up Harris from Somerset and let him go to Birmingham
-
Ive no idea what Lee Kilby has done and didnt say it was anything to do with him...just praised him for the way he has promoted the side this season
-
Happily have him at Foxhall
-
You are mixing up poor and unlucky Unlucky to be leading 2 races that were stopped Poor to then not make the gate in the re run The only way its comparable to a penalty is if a player scores but then its asked to be re taken due to an encroachment and then missed.......unlucky that it had to be re taken and poor that he missed the second chance
-
Of course he was unlucky but thats speedway Leading 2 races that were both stopped is unlucky To then go out and not make the gate in the re runs is poor i will give you that.............
-
True But as his scores how his best 2 away scores this season were both at Foxhall.....................we need to go after him quickly
-
He is more than welcome at Foxhall..............loves the place.....hope Louis has his eyes on him sooner rather than later
-
When you look at the final this year to the final last year there is no comparison 2 sets of teams with a full 1-7 No dodgy illegal use of riders Just the leagues best 2 teams (apart from Wolves) to see who could be champions Both Ipswich and Swindon in my view are the best two promoted sides in the top league..............both get out into the community and involve the community....what a great job Lee Kilby has done The final at both venues had huge crowds and proper atmospheres Credit to both sets of supporters
-
Hyabbs post which i responded to hardly misleading when i was answering a previous poster
-
Not what was meant and you know that.....
-
I think Allen and Heeps have to be retained. You will get the usual gobs on here talking about Cam away in the final but he is dynamite at home and thats all important. I think King will be back but out of the 2 around similar average would rather have Lawson but rather neither. Pretty obvious that neither Harris or Sarj will be back and unlikely that Niels will be either 1. ? 2. Nicholls 5.50 3. Heeps 6.37 4. Allen 5.56 5. Klindt 7.43 6. Covatti 5.27 7. ? Leaves 12.37 for 2 riders Fill in the blanks
-
100% correct..........Poole trying to stay relevant.............attention seekers....look at their fans on the final thread lol

Who are your top five riders in 2019.
Gavan replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
1. Rasmus Jensen (turned Swindon from potential top 4 to league champions) 2. Ellis Perks (he isnt going to be world champion but is 100% trier and every team wants those) 3. Jaimon Lidsey (did very well in his first season and by the end was really flying....heat leader potential) 4. Luke Becker (same as Lidsey a great little rider) 5. Cameron Heeps & Jake Allen (jointly because without either Ipswich wouldnt have made the play offs and both were the big entertainers at home) No snobbery but ive only used riders from the top league as ive not seen the others ride
