  1. There was some good racing but it was hard to see it as anything other than a glorified challenge match.
  2. I take it that is sarcasm, if so you are spot on, they were p!ss poor. Nicholls delivery was akin to how Staechman used to be (very boring) and the other guy simply hadn't a clue
  3. To be honest though nothing they said had any relevance, and it was delivered with zero passion. It shows how important a professional commentator is to any event.
  4. Racing is quitr good now, maybe someone could let the commentary team know. They are as dull as dishwater and are turning a decent meeting into a poor tv spectacle. Get nigel and kelv on board and ditch this guy
  5. Does everyone still think eurosport are great. Total amateur production when they have their own input into it
  6. It has nothing to do with opinion. The old Tac Sub rule could skew a result by 8 points, the current rule can only skew it by 3. You can have an opinion as to which you prefer but the facts are facts, the old rule was more unfair. That said I preferred the old way, it gave a dimension to team managing that doesn't exist now, a team manager these days is just a glorified programme filler almost
  7. But then again if those meetings had been on Eurosport I think they would have been so much better
  8. Have you not understood anything that has been written. The "powers that be" have no say in the wildcard rider. It is in effect at the sole discretion of the GP promoter, in this case BSI.
  9. Everyone is bogged down in "who deserves it" or "earned" it. It is a wildcard, there isn't, and never has been a qualifying process. It is entirely the organisers choice. Recently they have used the British Final to determine the Cardiff place, but there is no obligation to do so.
  10. Why would you assume that. The SWC may operate in the same was as the SGP
  11. Actually you have got me worried as to my nationality. I too was born in Britain, of British parents, British grandparents and spent a while living out of the country. Exactly as Tai Woffinden, I must only be half British then
  12. You come across as something that sounds very similar
  13. Are you struggling to read plain English. We all know BSI have the total say, FIM approval is a mere formality, they have no say in the selection. Is that clear enough even for you. For the less stupid among us I explained it more concisely 3 days ago
  14. I know how the process works, I assumed anyone joining the debate would have read the thread through before wading in with their usual cobblers. My head is no where near my ass thank you very much, as for you, you seem very adept at talking through yours
  15. I don't disagree, if it were my choice I wouldn't have picked Harris. The point is that the wildcard isn't, and never was, a means to blood youngsters, enhance a nations riding strength or any of the other things we all might like it to be. It is purely the choice of the organiser. They want Harris in so there really is no case to answer. The notion that it is preposterous is nonsense.
  16. What part of the wildcard process are you struggling with, there is nothing preposterous about it. Chris Harris is the rider the organisers along with the FIM want in the GP. It needs no more justifying than that. It is not about bringing on young kids who want it more. It really is that simple, bit like you
  17. It was always the purpose of the wild card. The promoter can select who he wants to add value to the event, it doesn't even need to be a Brit if the so wished, wasn't Crump a wildcard in a British GP once. Like you say I cant imagine it making a major difference to the gate but for certain more than Craig Cook, Garrity etc who would be hopelessly out of their depth
  18. I dont say that I agree with Harris but it is entirely the organisers (BSI in this case) and the FIMs choice based on who they think will maximise gate revenue.
  19. Harris has a bit of a pedigree, former British GP winner, British Champion, part of team GB etc. He is marketable and while not talikg thousands would put more on the gate than anyone else. All that being the point of the "wild card" system why then is he the wrong choice
  20. Getting the pictures from where exactly?
  21. It wasn't the reason you were citing at the time. The nonsense of the overspend on football was purely the reason back then Are you 12 years old or do you just act it, you are very convincing if its just an act
  22. I suspect speedway is now not a priority at SKY. They are simply running down the clock to October when the contract ends and then speedway will be gone. Obviously they have to have a token interest until that time but that is all it is
  23. The wild card is not there to develop a nations riding talent, it is simply a means by which the organiser can seek to maximise his crowd potential. In the case of Cardiff, Gothenburg and Copenhagen BSI, as promoters, in conjunction with the FIM (in truth simply BSI) get to pick that rider. That is how it should be, those with there money on the line make that choice.
  24. Honeymoon period over then. From Eurosport being the best thing to happen to the GP coverage (despite them doing nothing) it appears that their only input into the transmission is now not suited. Credit to Eurosport where it is due though, they provided us with a lovely summers evening in Gothenburg, SKY often gave us rainy nights from Sweden
  25. Agreed. I think it was probably more 55/45 hence why Dyer went but in truth it was an unfortunate racing incident
