RAFAL RACES IN Thursday June 25, 2015 PETERBOROUGH promoter Ged Rathbone is backing Polish ace Rafal Konopka to entertain the East of England Showground fans. The 22 year-old Polish ace has been drafted in at reserve by the Readypower Panthers and is scheduled to make his debut when they entertain Plymouth on Sunday (June 28) providing the move receives official British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA) clearance. Konopka has plenty of Premier League experience after spending much of the 2014 campaign and the opening half of the current season racing for Redcar. Rathbone has seen him in action in the North-East on a regular basis and believes he is capable of boosting Panthers' bid for title glory. Rathbone said: "I've seen plenty of him riding for Redcar and what you get from Rafal is entertainment and effort in every race. "He is dedicated to his speedway and does everything he can to be successful in the sport. He is very excited by this opportunity and we will work hard with him to ensure he has the right machinery and set-up. "Some people may question the move and see it as a gamble, but I feel he has the talent to do a job for us. "Sometimes riders can do a bit too much and cost themselves points. That has definitely been the case with him at Redcar. "We just need to calm him down and make sure he rides consistently to score us a few points." Konopka produced a best return of paid 12 points during his time at Redcar this season. That came in a late-April victory over Rye House. He replaces Ollie Greenwood, who has been released by mutual consent, in the Panthers side. Greenwood made a farewell appearance as Panthers pipped Glasgow 48-45 in a television thriller last night (Wednesday). http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/news.php?extend.2531

ha ha I saw some guy doing that - so that must have been you.... Sitting quite close to Crump99 ... you wouldn't have noticed him.... -
Its a business not a charity Ged does more than enough at grass roots level assisting riders... so don't preach about something of which you know nothing!
-
Maybe Ged is helping him out! The Promotion under Frost always had a spare bike that Ales used to ride, maybe they are using that!

CRACKER ON THE CARDS Wednesday June 24, 2015 SKY Sports expert Kelvin Tatum is bracing himself for another East of England Showground thriller tonight (Wednesday). The cameras will be rolling when Peterborough take on Glasgow in a clash of the Premier League big-guns (7.30pm). And Tatum is excited about Sky’s first visit for 14 months to a venue which has provided them with some fantastic televised racing in the past. Tatum said: “We have seen some terrific meetings at Peterborough down the years on television. “A fantastic World Cup round from a few years ago sticks in my mind as does the Elite League Grand Final second leg of 2006 which was one of the most exciting domestic speedway meetings ever seen. “I think tonight could be quite a meeting as well. Glasgow are an ambitious outfit and they have a very strong team with riders like Nick Morris and Richard Lawson being complimented by the recent signing of David Howe. “Peterborough have also been performing well and have a good-looking side of their own so it would be a tight and tough meeting. “I don’t watch Premier League racing every week by any means, but I have seen some really good stuff at this level. “The teams have that bit better balance than in the Elite League. There isn’t such a disparity in ability and that keeps the racing very competitive.” In the build-up to the clash of two teams sat third and fourth in the second-tier standings, Tatum has spoken about the tough test the Alwalton track provides for riders. He added: “When nicely prepared it is undoubtedly one of the better tracks in the UK. “It can be quite a challenging track for a rider. You need to have lots of speed but there is a fine line between having a bike that is too strong or not strong enough. “You have to relish the challenge of riding there. If not it can prove awkward.” http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/ -

Crikey you know me so well , especially when I'm driving.. -
and how many are riding in Poland on a Sunday?
-
That team would get massacred and wouldn't make the play offs let alone have any chance of winning them.. No Match for Somerset, Glasgow or Edinburgh...

crikey let it go.... you cannot still be suffering from PMT? -
the screaming imbecile - "Kennett's showing what he can do tonight scoring 10+ in a meeting when he's on form...." Erm!! Edward Kennett - EF, 3, 3, Fx = 6 Right!!!
-
Pity those Idiots at the BSPA don't see it that way!!
-
cannot see that!
-
wouldn't we have to re declare the team? don't think it would work if we did...
-
Poor that we couldn't get a Guest in at number 1..... expect a cup exit tonight!
-
Well I heard this through the grapevine so don't hold me to account.. I heard that his cousin Billy from Sunny Hunny was visiting his Auntie Veronica and his Uncle Vernon in Odense and dropped him off at Vojens stadium in time for the SWC play off meeting .. but was able to get back in time to get him and his bikes back to the EOES for the Ipswich meeting... btw Shads are you now a closet Panthers fan? as I am a Rocket? See You Saturday on the Launch pad!

If I was Robert Lambert I'd stick 2 fingers up to pretender fans like you and others. next thing you'll be saying that the lad is burnt out due to too many commitments. we have got the most prodigious youngster to appear in our Sport for a long long time riding for our team and still you all moan - I for one applaud and appreciate Robert Lambert for choosing to ride for Panthers in 2015 - not that long after the sport was on its knees at Peterborough and very close to permanent closure.

Not talking about replacing them just saying what on earth is the matter with these 2 guys this season? Is it their bikes? lack of rides? Confidence? Just asking the question... -
that is not a valid point as he was entitled to miss the meeting as per the FIM rule book - he decided to do what he was entitled to do. get that into your thick skull.. Slagging of Robert wont do him or the Panthers promotion any favours. It would appear that Young Robert and the Panthers promotion have moved on - and so should you and all the haters!
