personally think the BSPA should relax the EL 6 point doubling up rule... Rules out too many potential repalcements for PL Number 1 and heat Leader injuries... We should then go Rooboy Schlein!
-
what a great race track and also a good crowd.... some good close racing - a great advertisement for the Premier League...... Very enjoyable - thought Andre Compton came across very well..
-
get real ... FFS the promotion can pay the riders whatever they want to !!
-
Unless someone rides to the rescue ... the Panthers season could go up in smoke.... Ridiculous situation where a sport that is practically on its knees cannot find replacements for injured rides due to rules made by the inept and incompetent guardians of our beautiful sport,,

bit harsh mate - not the promotions fault is it? Blame lays firmly at the hands of the Landlords....

Oh yeah I can imagine that its really easy to run the family business from a hospital bed and then for the next 6 months with no weight bearing on it.... come on get with it! Crikey no thanks - those Bridges were burnt a long time ago! See what I done there?

Sky missed a trick not covering this Topsy Turvy affair -
make you wonder how one earth the guys survive financially when they have a bad injury - Olly will be unable to do much at the family run business for most of that time i'd imagine....

This day and age there is just no logic in planning a long haul trip to a speedway meeting...Even if it hadn't been the for the ineptness of the showground management the weather may have misbehaved - and curtailed events anyhow... Just too much of a risk with the associated costs involved -
last weeks speedway star - stated that he hasn't even thought about a comeback yet and would be next year at the earliest as the injuries were more serious than first suspected...

Greenwood gets the green light Ollie Greenwood. 09:30Thursday 07 May 2015 Panthers bosses are standing by young reserve Ollie Greenwood as he battles to find his form. The reigning British Under 19 champion has struggled in the early weeks of the 2015 season. He drew a blank in the 52-40 victory at Plymouth last Friday after suffering a heavy crash in his opening ride, but he retains the backing of promoter Ged Rathbone. The club supremo said: “I’m keen to develop young British talent and I’m very hopeful we can get Ollie going well again. He is trying everything he can and I feel sure he is only a couple of good rides away from getting his season going. “We are offering advice and support to him as a club and we will continue to do that for the foreseeable future.” Panthers have sent fit-again Adam Roynon on a short-term switch to Premier League rivals Redcar. The 26 year-old suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung when involved in a horror smash on the opening lap of the new season back in March. He will now gain valuable track-time with the North-East club and scored paid nine when making his Bears debut on Tuesday. But Rathbone insists Roynon remains part of Panthers’ plans going forward. He said: “Adam needs to race and Redcar were in urgent need of a rider, so this move should suited both parties. Adam fully understands the situation we are in at Peterborough where we don’t feel we can currently make changes to a winning team with Michael Palm Toft having come in and done very well. “But I must stress we are monitoring Adam’s progress closely at Redcar with a view to bringing him into the team at a later date.” http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/greenwood-gets-the-green-light-1-6730162

http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/speedway-a-posh-offer-from-panthers-1-6729351 Speedway - a Posh offer from Panthers Speedway news from the Peterborough Telegraph - peterboroughtoday.co.uk, @peterboroughtel on Twitter 17:40Wednesday 06 May 2015 Peterborough Panthers bosses have come up with a Posh offer . . . in a bid to attract football fans to speedway. Readypower Panthers chiefs are offering discounted admission to their Premier League clash against Workington at the East of England Showground on Sunday (May 10, 6.30pm start). The deal is open to Posh season-ticket holders from the 2014-15 season who can gain entry at Alwalton for just £10 upon production of the relevant documentation at the turnstiles. Panthers promoter Ged Rathbone said: “We are working hard to build up our fan-base and attract new faces to the Showground. “There are many people in and around the city who have never sampled live speedway. “I’m confident that if we can get them along to the Showground we can get them hooked. “Posh’s season came to an end last weekend and I’m sure there will be plenty of supporters looking for a sporting fix. Hopefully they will take advantage of this offer.” Panthers have enjoyed a sparkling start to their Premier League campaign with a hat-trick of wins.

There is more to Supremo Rathbone than meets the eye..... in him we trust! Even with his best intentions and immense efforts for the cause of Peterborough Speedway Pat always seems a little too uncertain of the rules and regulations for my liking

here's the article... ADAM ON THE MOVE Thursday April 30, 2015 PETERBOROUGH rider Adam Roynon is to make a temporary switch to Premier League rivals Redcar as he steps up his comeback from injury. The 'Furness Flyer' suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung in a horror crash in the the very first lap of the 2015 season when the Readypower Panthers faced a Great Britain Select team at the East of England Showground. Panthers drafted in Danish rider Michael Palm Toft as a replacement for Roynon and he will remain in the team after delivering a series of impressive performances. Roynon has been back in the saddle with a number of practice laps in recent days and will now return to racing during a 28-day deal with the Bears. The arrangement suits all parties with Redcar needing to cover the absence of Australian rider Hugh Skidmore, who suffered shoulder damage in a crash against Peterborough last Thursday. Panthers supremo Ged Rathbone said: "Redcar are in urgent need of a rider and Adam needs the opportunity to race. http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/news.php?extend.2459.2 from panthers home page... Long-term injury victim Olly Allen remains in the number one berth for May which means the club will continue to be able to draft in guest replacements.

Plymouth V Peterborough 1st May 2015

PLYMOUTH V PANTHERS, PREVIEW Friday May 01, 2015 SIMON Lambert is out to continue his purple patch while helping Peterborough extend their own hot streak. The Readypower Panthers are aiming to register a third successive victory at the start of their Premier League honours chase when travelling to Plymouth tonight (7.15pm). And they will certainly benefit from another big haul of points from the bottom of the order as they make the long trek to the St Boniface Arena. Lambert is in rip-roaring form after piling up paid 10 in a 49-32 win at Redcar last week before chipping in with paid nine as Rye House were blasted 55-37 at the East of England Showground on Sunday. He said: “Things are going very well for me and I’m obviously loving riding for Peterborough. "I’m enjoying it that much I would probably sign a deal for next season right now if offered one. “Hopefully I can keep scoring good points and we can keep winning meetings. “We were awesome up at Redcar in the first league meeting and very good at home against Rye House as well. “We had a great result down at Plymouth in the League Cup a few weeks ago and they will be desperate to get revenge after the trouncing we gave them. “But we have a good team and the spirit has been absolutely phenomenal since we got our first win at Rye House on Easter Monday.” Lambert is one of four Panthers riders to have boosted their averages with new figures coming into effect tonight. Skipper Ulrich Ostergaard, second string Lewis Blackbird and his fellow reserve Ollie Greenwood (although very marginal) have also increased their marks. Long-term injury victim Olly Allen remains in the number one berth for May which means the club will continue to be able to draft in guest replacements. Former Plymouth man Ben Barker is the rider they turn to tonight. Teen talent Robert Lambert, who returns to Panthers colours at Plymouth after missing their three most recent meetings, and Michael Palm Toft have not completed enough meetings to gain a true average and remained on assessed figures. Highly-rated Kyle Newman becomes the Plymouth number one following the release of the new averages. He replaces ex-Panthers man Ryan Fisher at the top of the order. Devils skipper Newman missed Panthers’ 57-36 success in Devon in the League Cup, but was seen to great effect when they left the East of England Showground with a consolation point following a much narrower 48-42 loss a couple of days later. TEAMS PLYMOUTH: Ryan Fisher, Jack Holder, Ben Morley (guest), Ashley Morris, Kyle Newman, Morten Risager, Sam Simota. READYPOWER PANTHERS: Ben Barker (guest), Lewis Blackbird, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Ulrich Ostergaard, Michael Palm Toft. Ollie Greenwood. http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/news.php?extend.2460.2 -

Great Guest booking!!!! -
Panthers are ready to roar into Premier League action Michael Palm Toft in action. 11:32Thursday 23 April 2015 Panthers supremo Ged Rathbone is targeting a roaring start to the Premier League season despite a stack of availability issues. The city team travel to Redcar tonight (7.30pm) for their league opener before entertaining Rye House at the East of England Showground on Sunday (5pm). They also have their final Southern Group outing in the Premier League Cup at Somerset tomorrow night (Friday) although their chances of qualification to the latter stages could be over by the time they arrive at the Oaktree Arena. A poor start – Panthers lost their first three competitive meetings - looks like costing them dear in that competition and Rathbone is anxious to avoid a similar fate in the league. Rathbone said: “Being a Middlesbrough man, it is a very big meeting at Redcar for personal reasons. I go there to watch every week and it’s certainly a place where I want to win. “I also think it is somewhere we should be able to get a result if we are serious about challenging for the title. “We look like paying the price for a bad start in the League Cup and I do not want to be in a similar position in the league. “We need a good haul of points from the Redcar and Rye House meetings to show everyone we mean business. “The situation of having riders missing is far from ideal, but we have drafted in some excellent guests.” Teen talent Robert Lambert misses all three meetings due to commitments with his Elite League club, King’s Lynn. Club bosses have drafted in former Panthers man Claus Vissing to replace Lambert at Redcar and Somerset, while Somerset rider Brady Kurtz deputises in that position against Rye House. Panthers continue to use guests to fill the number one spot with Olly Allen ruled out for the season and a search for a potential replacement so far proving unsuccessful. Frequent guest Richard Lawson steps in at Redcar and against Rye House while the popular former Panther, Kenneth Hansen, gets the nod at Somerset. Panthers are struggling to find a guest to replace Lewis Blackbird at Somerset when he has Elite League action with Wolverhampton. Their intended stand-in, David Bellego of Sheffield, has since been laid off with a hip injury. Meanwhile the impressive Michael Palm Toft is prepared to extend his stay with the club if necessary. The Danish ace was drafted in as a short-term replacement for Adam Roynon after he suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung in a crash on the opening day of the season. Roynon is set to begin his comeback in the coming days with post-meeting practice laps after all three Panthers meetings. Panthers bosses could potentially reshuffle their pack to include both Palm Toft and Roynon in the coming weeks. The Peterborough Panthers Speedway Supporters’ Club (PPSSC) have organised two collections for sidelined star Allen. The first will take place at the group’s next social event - a St George-themed quiz night at the Post Office Club in Bourges Boulevard tomorrow night (Friday, 7.30pm). And a second collection will be held during Sunday’s home fixture. http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/panthers-are-ready-to-roar-into-premier-league-action-1-6704090
