Luke Killeen was at Berwick last night, but had bike trouble, didnt get many -- any -- laps in after match. His brother Dec is lined up to start in the Berwick Academy team, although both are currently awaiting the blessing of Prittii Patel ....

Late change for the Chargers. Sam Woods replaces Luke Killeen, who is awaiting issue of his UK passport. Bullets will enter this one cock-a-hoop, following tonight's big win, featuring a dream debut for 15-year-old Ace Pijper, at Armadale.

Quite apart from the result, this was an entertaining match on a chilly night. The first half-dozen races had so much going on, with passing and re-passing galore, that one could hardly draw breath. Armadale had more heat winners than the Bullets, but Berwick had only two last places all night. A great advert for NDL speedway.

Saturday weather forecast offers a dry day, if not warm. But it is Berwick! Teams are -- on paper -- pretty evenly matched, could be an NDL classic!

The first match of the whole Championship campaign starts at seven on Saturday, and is a repeat of last season's opener, which ended up as a big win for the Brummies. This time around, Bomber's on the side of the angels -- but the visitors have recruited the British Champion! It'll be a first-ever presentation by the BSN too -- and with local interest at a healthy level, thanks to the Harris-factor, expect a bumper opening-night crowd. Just a reminder -- it's all starting this Friday night! At 7:30pm on Friday (25th) there's the official 2022 Launch Night for FTS Bandits, GHT Bullets and the Academy side -- in the Black & Gold. A donation will be appreciated on entry, all proceeds from the evening will go towards helping young Ryan Renton and his family source the best treatment possible in his fight against cancer. Your Berwick Speedway Promotion and all three teams will be in attendance and we will get to know a bit more about everyone’s ambitions for the upcoming -- and very exciting -- season ahead!
