  1. Late change for the Chargers. Sam Woods replaces Luke Killeen, who is awaiting issue of his UK passport. Bullets will enter this one cock-a-hoop, following tonight's big win, featuring a dream debut for 15-year-old Ace Pijper, at Armadale.
  2. Quite apart from the result, this was an entertaining match on a chilly night. The first half-dozen races had so much going on, with passing and re-passing galore, that one could hardly draw breath. Armadale had more heat winners than the Bullets, but Berwick had only two last places all night. A great advert for NDL speedway.
  3. Saturday weather forecast offers a dry day, if not warm. But it is Berwick! Teams are -- on paper -- pretty evenly matched, could be an NDL classic!
  4. Tom Woolley is an excellent choice to skipper the Devils, IMO.....

  6. This Saturday has Berwick Bullets taking centre stage in their first stand-alone match of the new season. Hopefully the Berwick public -- very enthusiastic at Bullets' matches last term -- will continue to support the NDL side. The line-ups (not in riding order) are expected to be: GHT Bullets: Kyle Bickley, Luke Crang, Greg Blair, Ben Rathbone, Ace Pijper, Mason Watson & Kieran Douglas. Chargers: Ben Hopwood, Jordan Jenkins, Sam Hagon, Luke Killeen, Arran Butcher, Nathan Stoneman & Jacob Clouting. In addition to cash at the turnstiles, the usual e-tickets are on sale -- £10 across the board -- from the usual site: https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/
  7. Garry May however, is listing Ben at #2 in this week's Gladiators line-up
  8. The Northern Junior League (established 2010) will continue and will be overseen this year by Jim McGregor who takes over from Jamie Swales as co-ordinator. This season there will be 6 teams competing: Armadale Angels, Berwick Speedway Academy, Newcastle JCM Sapphires Gems, Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs, Teesside FIP Consulting Tigers and West Lothian Wildcats. The season will start at Redcar on 22nd April. 22-Apr Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs v Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers 29-Apr Armadale Angels v West Lothian Wildcats 29-Apr Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers v Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs 30-Apr Berwick Speedway Academy v Newcastle JCM Sapphires 01-May Newcastle JCM Sapphires v Berwick Speedway Academy 13-May Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers v Berwick Speedway Academy 14-May Berwick Speedway Academy v Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs 20-May Armadale Angels v Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs 22-May Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs v West Lothian Wildcats 05-Jun Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs v Armadale Angels 10-Jun Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers v Armadale Angels 10-Jun West Lothian Wildcats v Newcastle JCM Sapphires 11-Jun Berwick Speedway Academy v West Lothian Wildcats 12-Jun Newcastle JCM Sapphires v Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers 24-Jun Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs v Newcastle JCM Sapphires 01-Jul West Lothian Wildcats v Berwick Speedway Academy 02-Jul Berwick Speedway Academy v Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers 08-Jul Armadale Angels v Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers 08-Jul Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs v Berwick Speedway Academy 10-Jul Newcastle JCM Sapphires v West Lothian Wildcats 15-Jul Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers v Newcastle JCM Sapphires 17-Jul Newcastle JCM Sapphires v Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs 22-Jul Armadale Angels v Berwick Speedway Academy 23-Jul Berwick Speedway Academy v Armadale Angels 24-Jul Newcastle JCM Sapphires v Armadale Angels 29-Jul West Lothian Wildcats v Armadale Angels 05-Aug Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers v West Lothian Wildcats 26-Aug West Lothian Wildcats v Redcar Erimus Insurance Cubs 02-Sep Armadale Angels v Newcastle JCM Sapphires 23-Sep West Lothian Wildcats v Teeside FIP Consulting Tigers
  9. I think Stewart Dickson's eyes will be on a much-more-important match on Sunday!
  10. Magnificent achievement to sell out, nearly a fortnight ahead of opening night. A similar attendance for the visit of the champions a week on might be expected, too!
  11. Sandhu calling someone else corrupt? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle, er, black?
  12. Spring is here, the wee animals are getting frisky and everyone's rummaging in their hall cupboards, looking for their speedway jackets and woolly headgear! On the first night, it's all new. Everything to play for. Every rider knows his average will rise like one of Mary Berry's best cakes, and every supporter secretly believes this will be THE year. The first match of the whole Championship campaign starts at seven on Saturday, and is a repeat of last season's opener, which ended up as a big win for the Brummies. This time around, Bomber's on the side of the angels -- but the visitors have recruited the British Champion! It'll be a first-ever presentation by the BSN too -- and with local interest at a healthy level, thanks to the Harris-factor, expect a bumper opening-night crowd. To avoid the queues, e-ticketing is in place per the club website. FTS Bandits: 1 Chris Harris (captain), 2 Ty Proctor, 3 Theo Pijper, 4 Leon Flint, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Jye Etheridge, 7 Kyle Bickley Curtis Sport Brummies: 1. Claus Vissing, 2 James Shanes, 3 Josh Auty, 4 Ashley Morris (captain), 5 Adam Ellis, 6 Stefan Nielsen, 7 James Pearson Referee: The Dish
  13. Just a reminder -- it's all starting this Friday night! At 7:30pm on Friday (25th) there's the official 2022 Launch Night for FTS Bandits, GHT Bullets and the Academy side -- in the Black & Gold. A donation will be appreciated on entry, all proceeds from the evening will go towards helping young Ryan Renton and his family source the best treatment possible in his fight against cancer. Your Berwick Speedway Promotion and all three teams will be in attendance and we will get to know a bit more about everyone’s ambitions for the upcoming -- and very exciting -- season ahead! Fans are encouraged to arrive early at the Black and Gold as we expect to reach venue capacity. The following evening will see our annual Press & Practice event for all of our teams. Once again everyone will be welcome to come along and stadium entry will be gained by donations helping towards Ryan Renton’s target. We’re getting just a bit excited now folks! #FTSBandits #PoweredBy #KeenwoodKarpets #GHTBullets #ForRyan #LetsDoThis
  14. Indeed, beating Brady Kurtz, NKI and Klindt was very impressive. A very, very classy field for the event.
  15. Well, there's a hissy fit. Your reason for not visiting is because they're offering you free car parking?
  16. Jye Etheridge has served BV well in his spells with the Aces, as his average shows. Leaves a fair figure for your last announcement. Unlike some on here, l believe Mark Lemon is building a good squad, given his employers will have laud down his budget.
  17. I'd think -- but dont quote me -- it is reasonable for a theatre, football club, circus, speedway club to offer reduced prices for pensioners. Anyone not yet elugible for state pension might be presumed ti be working, and therefore able to pay full whack .
  18. I rather think the problem was that two Saturday tracks (Workington and Lakeside) wanted to run extra meetings on Fridays, on nights the three regular Friday tracks already had fixtures set. While this has nowt to do with Oxford (and lets remember the Cheetahs were originally wanting to enter the Premiership as a Thursday club anyway) it needs to be remembered what really was the problem in four years ago.
  19. You started this pish. Want to retract it and apologise?
  20. The British Speedway Network will go live for the first time on April 2nd and the FTS Bandits are honoured to welcome the Birmingham Brummies to Shielfield Park for the groundbreaking first ever, live streamed, Championship Speedway meeting on the new network.
  21. VOLUNTEERS WELCOME THIS WEEKEND! The club will be working at the stadium this weekend, and will welcome any volunteers who can lend a helping hand. Work will involve general repairs, both to the safety fence and in other areas which suffered damage during the recent storms. Volunteers are requested to enter via the pits area.
