  1. Great, but why isn't this also advertised on BSPA website with the other clubs' offerings?
  2. Track lighting just needs to be even for riders, their problems come when there's a brighty-lit patch, then a dark bit, etc, etc
  3. Tomorrow (Tuesday) night's featured match on Edinburgh's EM-TV is a curio -- Dale Devils v Oxford from 2004. A certain Jamie Courtney will be featuring for the Silver Machine Academy -- c'mon, boss!
  4. Might be a couple of reserves who picked up a few Heat 2 5-1s?
  5. Bandits v Glasgow (2018) is premiering on YouTube right now...... Started 30 seconds ago!
  6. Kiosks could be the saviours of speedway
  7. Edinburgh are 'staging' a meeting every Friday at the same time. They began their 'season' last Friday, with a match against - - Peterboro! Others are now following their lead, which is great, but the Monarchs can claim 'seniority' for Friday nights!
  8. I think his all-nighter was with Adam Scorniki.....
  9. Delightful phrasing from George Dodds in yesterday's blog on club website: saying that the pandemic was "making self-isolation a sexy and socially-responsible lifestyle choice, rather than the fate of window lickers from Cornhill" I laughed out loud
  10. Duns opening session, intended for this weekend (22nd) has also had to be cancelled.
  11. As this could be the only speedway meeting in the UK for months,! I'd certainlysuggest as many fans as possible get to Scunny tomorrow..
  12. Quite clear that it isn't regionalised (All seven clubs will field their own four-man team, who will race their opponents over six heats on a one-home, one-away basis after Premiership matches between the respective sides.) but as the Premiership isn't exactly a nationwide competition like the Championship, the travel isn't too big a burden. Six home meetings can be accomodated in the warmer, lighter summer nights when spectators are happier to stay on to watch the juniors. As long as the promoters all take it seriously, use their own junior riders and encourage spectarors to stay and watch, it can succeed. All it needs to be a success is for one gilt-edged UK prospect to emerge from this mini-league every year, and that's job done.
  13. OK, this thread is about unattached British talent. Is there any?
  14. Wow! Becker is likely to set this league on fire. He has had many, many offers to 'come across' from the Premiership, and it looks (no pun intended!) as if Garry & The Hancocks -- sounds like a 'sixties pop group -- have a hit on their hands!
  15. Press'n'practice on March 28th. Should be a greater-than-usual turn-out of interested folk to watch the guys exploring the wide open spaces...
  16. Don't complain, there are people who pay good money to get onto that kind of site
  17. Not as far as Bailey, Watson or Douglas for the same meeting....
  18. Perhaps a better parallel would be the highly-successful National League, which operated independently of the BSPA offices, had its own management committee and shared events, and created a healthy, profitable league structure between around 1983 and 1990? This was still within the SCB/ACU framework, and riders had free movement.
