  1. I agree about seeing the much better BV track instead of MG, but the plays offs are normally about tension, excitement and edge of your seat important heats. There will be NONE of that tonight, just a meeting going through the motions.
  2. Even if Ipswich had have brought in Lambert, rather than BV, there’s still no way they could possibly chuck this away!, Relax and enjoy it
  3. Oh dear!!!…..as if this meeting isn’t going to be a farcical waste of time!….don’t be such a bed wetter!!
  4. Can’t believe that Eurosport are wasting time and money on what will be a completely embarrassing FARCE tonight when they could have chosen to cover the other semi!! Sums up the joke British speedway scene COMPLETELY!
  5. Fancy having to choose Batchelor for a heat 15!!……Surely they (Eurosport) won’t waste everyone’s time by showing the second leg instead of Wolves v Sheffield, will they?!!!
  6. Where’s the red light Kelvin?!!!…..still, in a few more years with a bit more commentating experience, you might have some idea about what’s actually happening!,
  7. Still, the food and drink outlets are enjoying the (another!) long drawn out evening I suppose!! Most people already been there for nearly 2 hours to see TEN minutes of racing so far! Its not necessary and people will get fed up with being in the stadium for 2 1/2 hours for 15 mins of racing!
  8. Aha!!…so it IS a all about money and gimmicks then and any semblance of entertainment or actual racing and overtaking on the track, isn’t relevant!!! Attitudes like yours are unfortunately the reason why utter shambolic farces like tonight will keep happening but as seen this year, less and less gullible people will be fooled into wasting their money watching the rubbish, until finally only 12,000 want to actually see it! THEN sense will finally prevail and the actual racing will finally become important again and these meetings will be held on a PROPER speedway track where you can watch some PROPER racing!
  9. I don’t, serve them right for paying lots of money to watch that rubbish! Its the same every year!
  10. Sadly that’s very true although fair play to him, he did well.
  11. Well this utterly embarrassing FARCE of a non event must be the low point EVER of the GP series!! Unrideable track, not ONE lead pass and only about two passes for any other place, in 22 races. The “happy clappy” muppets there really have had their moneys worth!! LOL The whole evening has been exactly as I predicted it would be and nearly always is at this joke of a venue! Will the dopey lot in charge ever learn and actually have this meeting in future years and other rubbish GP’s on temporary tracks in other countries, at the best venue for actual RACING rather than just worrying about fitting in as many deluded happy clappers as possible!!? Utter low point in GP history tonight, it’s laughably bad! The only surprise tonight has been that Ellis took a dive in his first race to save him anymore embarrassment!!…I thought he would have tried for three races at least.
  12. And that’s 4 more points than Ellis will get this year!!!
  13. Exactly, would have been great to see him get one final chance in a GP, especially as this year we might not have heard “……and Harris at the back again” from Kelvin every race, such has been his form this year!
  14. Come on for goodness sake, let the poor buggers in the crowd go home and just announce the meeting is over! You’ve had an extra half a hour’s worth of pints and hot dog sales since the last race, so just put everyone out of their misery!
  15. Spot on, the parade should have been cancelled at the start and the first race should have started at 7.15 at the latest. Then the riders should have been put on 30 secs for each race so they didn’t bugger about for a minute at the gates but instead just got on with starting each race. So many ways a little bit of common sense and a sense of urgency from the organisers and yes the TV lot too, could have sped things up so they could have got to at least heat 20. BUT it’s always the same, never any sense of urgency, lets drag the meeting out so more money will be spent on food and drink etc!!
  16. Think they need to put Bewley on 15 yard starts to make it ANY kind of contest for the title tonight!! It’s a shame because without him it would have had the potential to be a really good fight for the title tonight.
  17. Another tedious night of racing (which I guess when four riders basically just follow each other all night , you CAN just call racing!!) only saved from complete boredom by the closeness of most of the teams. If speedway is to have a good long term future then those in charge have got to tear up the current way of thinking and stop sharing GP’s, World Cips etc around various tracks and Countries just to please everyone! They need to have them at the BEST tracks that produce actual EXCITING and passing speedway! If that means the same few tracks/Countries get them all the time, then TOUGH! Unless you are a die hard ‘happy clappy’ speedway fan people will get fed up with the rubbish we have seen (passing wise) in virtually every GP this season and big meetings like tonight. They should start by having the British GP at a proper, exciting track (Belle Vue, which after all is supposed to the “National speedway stadium”! Instead of at that tinpot temporary track Millenium Stadium Borefest!
  18. Another dreadful GP all down to the track AGAIN!!...Slightly more chance of passing that that utter embarrassment in Prague but the track was a disgrace!. Stuff this practice of sharing the GP's all around the World, this is supposed to be the pinnacle of a so called "professional" (sic) sport, yet so many rounds are ruined by disgraceful tracks. Give ALL the rounds to the best tracks, even if that means some tracks getting more than one round a year. This is supposed to be speedway RACING, not speedway "GATING" (last week) and speedway "HANGING ON FOR DEAR LIFE" (last night). Another embarrassing night for the sport.
  19. We do live in hope that the law of averages SHOULD dictate that you’d get one or two good races out of 23 even on this embarrassing disgrace of a track. But we were wrong as that was the worse GP of all time. The happy clappy crowd at the track may as well been zombies as they all seemed happy enough to witness that shambles! Perhaps the tickets were given away this year for free as I can’t think of any other way they would have been (apparently) happy with what they were witnessing! Prague should never ever be given a GP round again, but we all know they will be.
  20. Without any shadow of doubt this utter FARCE is the worse GP of all time……20 heats and not ONE lead change! Absolute RUBBISH!!
  21. Absolutely spot on!!…..Just cos half of the shouty twins (was the other one even at Peterborough or is he at the darts?) wouldn’t have been at Sheffield to commentate, like you say, one camera coverage with the more than competent Dave Rowe commentating would still have been good and better than nothing! They big up the play offs all season, yet can’t be arsed to cover them when they finally arrive!! And people wonder why speedway is regarded as a joke these days!
