  1. The thing is Iris is that so many of us in here said that this would be a load of rubbish, last year when it was first announced, but we were put in our places by the experts such as Rising, who said it should be great and better than the old format!!..... To be fair, the "two" finals have got to be better than the absolute trash we have witnessed so far but these first two "qualifiers" have been a complete waste of time and more fool anyone wasting good money on these farces.
  2. .... ahhh, finally we have a convenient excuse for the screaming shouty monkey noises that eminates from his mouth!!.... He obviously doesn't realise he is shouting as he can't hear himself. And to think that all this time I thought it was him just being unprofessional and over hyping the action!!.... Apologies Nigel, how on earth could I have been so oblivious to the truth?!!
  3. Yes, to be fair maybe "ringer" was an incorrect term but I just have a big bug bear when I see people who are far too good to be reserves, "winning" matches single handedly with their 7 rides. Reserves should not be allowed that many rides in my opinion as it spoils too many meetings when you get people like Kerr who are too good to be there and that's why I said for once it was nice to see a meeting not decided by a reserve outscoring virtually everyone else on both sides, even GP riders!
  4. He's scoring 10+ points every meeting so how is his average a number 6 or 7?
  5. Nice to see a surprise away win on this match and also for once the team with the "ringer" reserve also not winning!
  6. Absolutely spot on. Once again, both league meetings tonight have been totally decided because of the reserves, as it has been for nearly every meeting in the Premiership so far this season. 17+5 v 2+1 in one and 13+1 v 6+1 in the other. Not sure that anything can be done about it and its just good luck to the teams who have the strong reserves but its making the "heat leaders" performances and results virtually irrelevant in nearly every meeting.
  7. Agree totally. Would be great to see the SCB grow some balls and tell the little ****** where to go!
  8. That kind of blows any excuses for Lamberts absence, out of the water really!!!
  9. I think people would be happy to spend £17 - £18 per meeting IF they got value for their hard earned cash. I'm sorry but £18 for FIFTEEN minutes of racing is not going to be called value for money 98% of the time. Hell, ratio that up to a Premiership football match and it even makes those ridiculously overpriced tickets seem value in comparison (£50 for 90 mins of action).
  10. Thanks for the update, I want aware of that.
  11. Why can't Poole just come out with the facts rather than the complete silence on the matter?!!.... He's either still banned or has no visa so what's the great secret about that?!!
  12. Didn't Holder get banned from Speedway in the UK for 9 months mid August last year after the Lynn fiasco?!!!..... That would make it about mid May before he could race again, is this why he hasn't raced yet for Poole or was that punishment quashed?
  13. Despite the armagedon forecasts from the ever reliably useless weather men, there has not been more than about 6 drops of rain here at Lynn since Saturday afternoon so if the next couple of days are decent then this meeting should be on. Going from all the local gossip around here most people will be at The Walks on Wednesday evening, so don't expect much of a crowd for the speedway. I reckon Chapman will be doing a rain dance over the next 2 days so he can call it off (especially being half a team short too).
  14. Absolutely SPOT ON buddy. Been like that for a few seasons now. You add up and compare the combined scores of numbers 6 and 7 for each team in 8/10 meetings and that will be the difference between the two sides. Unless someone is injured then the max number of rides a reserve should be allowed during a meeting should be 5 instead of 7.
  15. Well, we've just a had a LONG sharp shower this time, so it looks like the decision this time was the correct one to be fair.
  16. Not raining here 6 miles away, bright sunshine!!!! But you could be now having the short sharp shower we had 15 mins ago, I suppose.
  17. This really is a catch 22 situation for any promoter really. Yes, it can be called a good decision because IF it does rain then it will be proven to be correct but also IF it doesn't then Chapman will be sitting there with a very red face. A few miles away from the track and so far we've had a couple of short, sharp showers today, so as it stands right now then the track would be fine. Dont like this cancelling meetings just because there COULD be some rain later though....... It rains a lot in this country and if every time there is a little bit of a "dodgy" forecast they are going to cancel a meeting many hours ahead of the start time then they are going to find that there will be a lot of meetings to squeeze into a very short time period at the end of the season! Looks like Lynn and Chapman have gone from one extreme to another with their rain call offs!
  18. They've GOT to get better than the efforts they are producing now and of course every year they seem to be there or thereabouts but I'm really not sure they will make the play offs at all this season. Such a long way to go yet and injuries will inevitably affect things as the season goes on (we've seen how that has affected Leicester already!) but my prediction for the play offs are Belle Vue, Wolves, Swindon and Kings Lynn. I think the only just about certain thing about the season is that Rye House are going to be bottom! (as long as Doyle makes an effort all season for Somerset and doesn't lose too much focus on them)
  19. I've said this for years!..it seems SO OBVIOUS and sensible that there must be some reason we are not aware of that is stopping this happening? or is it just that those in control of speedway really ARE that thick?!! The shouty twins time and time again spout on that the track will get better after a few heats and so will the racing and for once, they are mostly correct as it generally does! so why is this not happening NOW? Would have stopped any injuries last night and also would have improved the "entertainment" on show for hundreds of meetings over the past years and given the (all too often forgotten) spectators better value for their hard earned money.
  20. Only six miles from the track and I am quite surprised that this has been called off as there hasn't been any rain since yesterday morning. To be fair though there has been a lot of rain recently and there hasn't been any real dry out as there's been no sun or wind but I am still surprised that they couldn't have got the track in a good raceable state within the last 24+ hours. If it's been called off due to the state of the car park/stock car pits then that is a poor show. They have been a disgrace for many years now and something should have been done about them a long time ago. The pits at Mildenhall were in a similar disgraceful state until a couple of years ago but a bit of investment (£) and time have now made them good (I know that's not where there public parks there but just using that as an example that something COULD be done at Lynn too) With the fixed race nights this season, a poor Summer is going to lead to an even worse fixture back log than previous years so I would have thought that every opportunity to get a meeting on when it was actually dry overhead would have been taken!
  21. I know that in your eyes EVERYTHING connected to speedway is always perfect, but put your tongue away please just for ONCE and actually LISTEN to his commentary next time two riders pass each other on the final lap of a GP race for example.....it will be screams and noises, NO WORDS. Now go and compare that to how a proper professional commentator i.e. Lanning, used to do it. Then come back with your stupid comments if you still think Pearson doesnt sound like a monkey in comparison!
  22. Agree, there's nothing wrong with them....if you want your commentators to shout all night like a fan pulled from the crowd and asked to commentate would do, and also make monkey noises rather than actually commentating on whats happening, when two riders actually get close to each other!!... Kelvin isn't too bad I suppose and has a good knowledge but i.m.o. Pearson is an embarrassment to the professional commentator profession and an insult to the memory of the great Dave Lanning, who really DID know how to commentate, generate excitement WHEN APPROPRIATE and still manage to not sound like a demented baboon whilst doing so!
  23. Spot on. They are a complete and utter joke. Even the rules that dont get amended to, won't be adhered to more often than not anyway!!...e.g. 4 mins between races!!...yeah, RIGHT!
