  1. It's a business decision. They're running a business. How many Glasgow fans go regularly to Berwick or vice versa? 20? 30? 50? They must have made a calculated decision that a switch to Saturday night will offset any Bandits fans not coming to Glasgow on a Sunday.
  2. What were the confirmed extent of Danny Ayres' injuries, after the trip to hospital? Nothing too serious I hope.
  3. I first thought about this opportunity too but how practical would it actually be for riders to finish at Ashfield 10pm(?) Saturday and ride in Poland the next day? Doable of course but how attractive, I don't know.
  4. I'm pleased about this announcement but the brightness of the floodlights will need to be a lot lot lot lot brighter. The quality of the racing last Monday was fantastic but the lights were not great. Although I'm sure they must meet a minimum standard.
  5. And back to the actual meeting..... Fantastic entertainment. Best meeting I've seen at Ashfield in years. Smooth fast track with lots of thrills and spills. FTG very infrequent, for a change. I don't know if it was track prep or an evening meeting that made the difference to the racing. I must mention Robert Lambert, boy is he exciting to watch. So brave and so fast.
  6. Please please please no 3 hours long meeting. It's gonna be half baltic at tapes up and double baltic by ten o'clock. BTW when is our curfew?
  7. To be fair, although we in the west are exploiting the situation to criticise the mighty Moanarchs, we must all be so so so grateful that the lights didn't go out during a race. The potential danger of such a scenario doesn't bear thinking about.
  8. What a farce. Never mind we've got some fully functional floodlights which we could loan you any Friday evening next year as you'll no doubt block any discussions of us riding on your precious Friday. Heavy fine for any other promotion but I feel an inner sanctum fudge coming on.
  9. Danny's good form continued on Monday for Kent with 16+1 from 6. Perhaps the penny has dropped, more speed less haste.
  10. It's always bloody raining in Paisley. What do you think of the Strictly Come Dancing line up so far Paul?
  11. Should the Colts fixture not take precedence for the prodigy? I'm lost with the rules these days.
  12. This is our first time in Manchester and I'm quite surprised by the number of vagrants. They seem harmless enough but it doesn't give a great impression TBH.
  13. This is very very very disappointing. We're here in a very drizzly Manchester, as of 1230, cursing whatever reason Greg isn't riding.
  14. So.................if you went to see a movie at the Showcase, for example, before the SWC you'd be fine to just leave your car there as a patron? How can they prove, when you're entering the car park that you're not going to the pics?
  15. "Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Thursday is looking cloudy and wet with rain turning heavy at times. On Friday and Saturday it will become generally drier and brighter although, there could be occasional showers." That's not good Agreed it's nothing very very concerning. It's not awful but it's still not good.
  16. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcw2hzs1u#?fcTime=1469664000 The weather forecast is looking a bit Manchester-ish for Thursday and Saturday. We're East Stand, so bringing a brolly!!
  17. As a Glasgow supporter I am taking a keen interest in any appearance of Danny Ayres, either for Kent or as a guest. Clearly we've taken a great shine to Mr Ayres, with his infectious enthusiasm and showboating. However I am surprised, pleasantly but still surprised all the same, to hear you describe his style as smooth. To be critically objective his style is anything but smooth around Ashfield. I've posted agreements on other threads that (paradoxically) he'd go faster if he slowed down!?! By this, of course, I am meaning that if he focused on his style / smoothness and choosing / testing racing lines he'd make quicker progress around the track. Ashfield has much tighter turns than Kent. I've never been to Ipswich. Is Foxhole a technical track? Although we love to have him at Ashfield I wonder if he's not yet good enough to ride a smallish track consistently well. I suppose it's a double edged sword. Do you want a novice rider to only ride well around the likes of EOESG or Owlerton and have no chance at the likes of Armadale.
  18. In which way are you suggesting any confusion on my part? It is you who is contrary. You had a dig at Richard for being a "GT" and then contradicted yourself by saying it wasn't a criticism. If you had described Richard as an excellent gater then that would not be a criticism however you chose to use the "GT" epithet. However I couldn't agree with you more regarding the waste of time that is jungle balls and kids running after a numpty in a furry suit.
  19. So "one of the biggest GT in the PL" wasn't a criticism or a dig on your part? You're actually complimenting Richard on being a good gater, thanks for clarifying. I acknowledge that WWE is potentially dangerous. I am differentiating between Sports Entertainment and a proper unrehearsed sport. The primary objective of WWE is entertainment. The primary objective of speedway is to win and to be paid, not primarily to entertain. If you are a good gater then you've a better chance of winning and being paid.
