Sgp Challenge Final Sat 20th Sept
Joseq7 replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes by default. Other riders were injured or banned as you say so they failed to meet their commitment which is the definition of default if you care to look it up. At no point have I suggested that it's his fault or anyone else's fault. So you think he'll finish in the top 8 next season do you? -

Harris has not "earned his place on merit". Fact _ he did not "earn his place on merit" for the SGP Challenge on merit so he did not earn any place on merit. Fact _ he squeaked it in to the Challenge by default but made the best of that. To his congratulators do any of you seriously think he'll qualify for the top 8 by the end of 2015? -

All credit to the bloody minded determination of the fella but please no Harris in 2015 SGP. -

Oh dear not this old toffee again. There were three ppl employed at the start gate in that fateful GP. Did she grab the checkered flag or did someone pass it to her? Have any actually any clue regarding the facts of the event? -

I couldn't agree more. I think it's a particular Scottish trait. We'd rather see someone of average ability give everything they have than a gifted fancy Dan who doesn't give a monkeys -

This has got to be the end for Wolbert. I was so pleased when we signed him but it's just not worked and he's now a "dead man walking". And no, I don't know who should replace him but surely those charged and accepted as being responsible for team affairs must and should know. -
Less Than 60% Brits In Pl - Is It Right?
Joseq7 replied to Bryn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Logic would dictate that a team of 7 Brits would / should be cheaper than a team of 7 continentals. IF IF IF that is true then the break even point, regarding crowds, would be lower - which would leave clubs in a better financial positions. I do think you're correct in one regard - crowds wouldn't be higher JUST because a team was made up of 7 Brits. I personally don't care whether a rider is from Siberia or Skegness, as long as I am being entertained. -
Pl Ambulances, Medics Or Just Plain Lies.
Joseq7 replied to jenga's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Fair enough - even the interpretation is open to interpretation!! I took the "I believe" bit to refer to the "..........a taxi to Alnwick to collect his car........." bit. -
Pl Ambulances, Medics Or Just Plain Lies.
Joseq7 replied to jenga's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agreed - excellent statement. http://www.berwickbandits.co/article/bandits-boss-apologises However.......it certainly does seem to contradict Richard Lawsons ascertion that the person in question was drunk: "............the Medical Officer in control of the event became unwell to the extent he chose to leave the stadium, taking – I believe – a taxi to Alnwick to collect his car (he had travelled up with our First Aid Team) and then back to his Tyneside base” “The Paramedic had just attended to our rider Matej Kus, who was himself feeling ill, and had instructed that Matej could not continue riding. An ambulance was called to assist Matej and further assess his condition – but this in no way would have prevented a continuation of racing had the Medical Officer not then excused himself and departed shortly afterwards”. The club has, as a matter of courtesy spoken to the Paramedic since the weekend to check on his well-being and he has apologised for having to withdraw in such circumstances. It appears -- and we do not wish to breach confidences -- he is experiencing acute personal emotional problems which were severely compounded by a family telephone call during the meeting, which affected him to such an extent he felt no longer able to carry out his official duties." So he either wasn't drunk or was guilty of drink driving? -
Hall Not Returning To Redcar
Joseq7 replied to Yearbyred's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
What is technically Hall's average? I know he was 6.55 on the last GSA that is listed with him in it. Glasgow (probably) looking for a (hopefully very very) short term replacement with 6.01 available. Not really advocating Hall but business is business and Hall has served his time. -
Glasgow Vs Panthers - 27th April
Joseq7 replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Get it right up ye. Sideywise. Or "hard luck old fruit" just in case you're unfamiliar with this triumphalist Scottish greeting. -
If it's well known and accepted that this lad is a really crap gater then why the hell have we signed him? Ashfield has been gate and go for season after season in recent times. Was it simply mathematics?
-
What's the delay in naming the replacement? I thought we had someone lined up?
-
There's something similar to "goldy" and "silvery" but it's made of IRON
-
. So it's Kasper Lykke then?

http://www.glasgowtigers.co/?p=3032 As per the above link...............Glasgow have now conceded that Joey will NOT be riding for Glasgow this year. The above article appears to be laying the blame fair and square at the door of the BSPA. Another conspiracy from the East no doubt. Okay so now this is a definite can someone please spill the beans on who the replacement is?
-
To be accurate Jacobs wasn't ours to keep but I take your point. To be fair he performed OK over the season, raising his average by >0.50 points which is not too shabby for his first year in the 2nd top flight. On balance I wouldn't have had him back if it had been a straight choice between him and Ringwood, based entirely on what I thought they could do this year, IMO.
-
Any updates from the Stars event? What's new on the Joey situation?
-
It is fair criticism that the racing quality in recent years at Ashfield has been nothing like it was ten plus years ago. Can anything be done to the track to reverse the malaise? Who knows.
-
Yes definitely thanks are due to Mr Biggart. Hopefully he's not taken a compromising loss during his period of ownership. Sporting history is littered with humble men made good frittering away their children's inheritance. The ultimate aim of a supporters trust is appealing as long as wee canny Scots think with our wallets and not our hearts.
-
Eh hello this was an expression of an ideological preference however I will humour you and say that as I can't predict the future I couldn't say which of our very few British assets could out score Joey. Can you predict the future? Are you gifted with second sight? No I thought not.
