  1. Just curious NYer......................how have you got in to speedway? It's truthfully quite a minority sport here in the UK but with a higher profile in Scandinavian and in Poland. As you've indicated yourself the profile is pretty non existent in the US so how have you came across it?
  2. Bl**dy hell, you're far too erudite for this forum
  3. Fair enough. I haven't given this hours and hours of thought but......... Keep the averages going on, in the background, same calculation as now. Yes, grade the riders as per their averages. For example: Grade A = 9.00 - 12.00 Grade B = 7.00 - 9.00 Grade C = 5.50 - 7.00 Grade D = 3.00 - 5.50 Grade E = <3.00 Team make is 1 x A + 2 x B + 2 x C + 1 x D + 1 x E Clearly the problem with my suggestion - before anyone else mentions it is that one team could have a team average equivalent to the old average of 52.50 and one team could have the equivalent of 40. However it would help with a team being say 0.50 - 1.00 over from one year to the next.
  4. Perhaps I've misunderstood your intention but what would you suggest instead of averages? Surely a freeforall would be farcical? Any rider can sign for any club irrespective of what would be the cummulative total of averages? If you're suggesting something along the lines of..............a team could be built of, for example, 1 off Grade A + 2 off Grade B + 2 off Grade C + 2 off Grade D I'd be kinda with you there.
  5. Booked a pair of 'weekend' tickets today for the East grandstand with no issues. £92ish delivered.
  6. There's a hundred and one questions regarding the 3 point rule. Every time I think I've got my head around it another couple of questions pop up. I don't really know anything about Danny but as Glasgow are my team I'll be cheering him on, of course. However, I can't be hypocrytical and not say that signing a guy in his late 20s, albeit a novice, wasn't really the objective of this 3.0 NL rule.
  7. So how does this Jye fella phonetically pronounce Jye? Is it Jay?
  8. That's right..... Perhaps there should have been an "under 23(?)" stipulation too.
  9. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/other-sport/speedway/2015/08/20/lewis-blackbird-announces-speedway-retirement/ Ah right ok....retired right enough....I didn't do a lot of research on this one just looked at the numbers.
  10. I don't know this guy's position regarding a reduction?? Lewis Blackbird - listed as 6.16 which would, of course, be too much but reduction??
  11. Fortunately no Tigers fan gives a monkeys about your opinion blob.
  12. I don't want to press "report" on your post in case someone thinks I'm actually reporting it :S I'm honestly not being funny but you've tried pressing "report" ?
  13. Okay we know Steve's done that - very frustrating
  14. Can you tell us which specific mod you contacted? That might help specifically direct Steve to someone who does listen.
  15. Nobody is criticising you fella... Keep up the good work.
  16. Someone is paying attention to the Elite thread, it's pinned.....
  17. I know that this question will have been answered earlier but I'm not trawling 57 pages to find it............ How does Matt Wethers qualify for a team place on that average? To be clear, he's always been reported to be a very decent bloke and I know he's married to a British girl and has kids with her, so I'm not criticising him in any way, It's just that he didn't initially qualify last year because of the sub 7.00 Australian rule - what happened to that? Does he now qualify as being British, through residency or something like that?
  18. Sheffield's race night is traditionally Thursday, so I am sure they will want to attract visitors to the Yorshire area for the SWC. Hopefully a glamour tie against the Bayern Munich of speedway.................the Glasgow Tigers, of course
  19. Apologies if this has been already answered but I've had a wee trawl and can't see it.......................... Is there any further clarification around the specific logistics of the complusory 3.00 NL Brit at No.7 ? Is it a draft? Is it a free for all? Does the No.7 stay at No.7 all season irrespective of their average?
  20. For the love of all things holy not Fisher!!
  21. Do Edinburgh have preference on choosing the leg order by right of finishing top of the regular season then?
