I did have a look at the fixture list but didn't count the reserved dates. Fair enough the majority of fixtures are Friday if you count the reserved dates. I was counting the actual dates that are scheduled to happen, not maybe happen.

I know this is probably wildly simplistic but could Peterborough redeclare their race night as Sunday? It is kinda weird that they're a "Friday" track when their majority of meetings aren't a Friday.

If you'd actually bothered to read this thread these are comparative totals for Adult Entry + Programme + Parking. At Glasgow this is £17.50 + £3.00 + £2.00 = £22.50. At Berwick this is £15.00 + £2.00 + £0.00 = £17.00. Do keep up.

You're missing the point.....or just being deliberately obtuse. It's not that £17.50 is a lot of money, on its own. It's £140 for my partner and I to go four times a month......now that is a lot of money. Please do not recount your SCB story for a fourth time.

Aye I take your point again but we get paid monthly, or weekly of course and all my personal outlays DDs and SOs are monthly. Paying for speedway is an instant hit from our monthly budget.

I take this comparative price point but speedway is four home fixtures a month, football is two home fixtures a month, so it's twice the outlay to follow your speedway team at home compared with football.

£17.50 + £3.00 for a program is too expensive for me personally to go every week. "If they built it, they will come". Well they're not. I don't personally give a flying for chucking balls and running after a numpty in a furry suit. I think the ship has now sailed unfortunately but I am convinced they'd get more in for £12.50 than £17.50 and it's very simple economics more ppl in the stadium means more money. The Facennas are never gonna make money from speedway and it can't be their objective of course so why not slash the prices and get punters in through the door, buying programmes, buying chips and burgers, buying pints, buying merch.

I can't believe anyone would have the temerity to suggest that Edinburgh could manipulate the rules to their benefit. Like they'd ever done that before??

I couldn't be more positively in favour of the new PL No.7 rule, especially if it's a young British guy. I have not had the advantage of seeing live the discussed Mr (or should that be Master) Bewley. One thing we can all be agreed on, surely, is that the lad must have b*lls and we all hope he becomes a great success. If these young British guys are getting valuable track experience and are willing to listen and learn regarding set ups from the auld heids then what's not to like about this principle? If they're falling off all over the place and getting hurt and losing money hand over fist then, of course, the BSPA will need to have a rethink.

Just curious NYer......................how have you got in to speedway? It's truthfully quite a minority sport here in the UK but with a higher profile in Scandinavian and in Poland. As you've indicated yourself the profile is pretty non existent in the US so how have you came across it?

Fair enough. I haven't given this hours and hours of thought but......... Keep the averages going on, in the background, same calculation as now. Yes, grade the riders as per their averages. For example: Grade A = 9.00 - 12.00 Grade B = 7.00 - 9.00 Grade C = 5.50 - 7.00 Grade D = 3.00 - 5.50 Grade E = <3.00 Team make is 1 x A + 2 x B + 2 x C + 1 x D + 1 x E Clearly the problem with my suggestion - before anyone else mentions it is that one team could have a team average equivalent to the old average of 52.50 and one team could have the equivalent of 40. However it would help with a team being say 0.50 - 1.00 over from one year to the next.

Perhaps I've misunderstood your intention but what would you suggest instead of averages? Surely a freeforall would be farcical? Any rider can sign for any club irrespective of what would be the cummulative total of averages? If you're suggesting something along the lines of..............a team could be built of, for example, 1 off Grade A + 2 off Grade B + 2 off Grade C + 2 off Grade D I'd be kinda with you there.
