  1. Been wrong the last couple of times also. Good to see you need to give an e-mail address so if you vote various times for the same rider you will need various e-mail's. Great news for Berwick fans. Hopefully the other members of the team see this and use it as inspiration so we get all riders involved in heat 15 (and possibly 13) and Leon can keep progressing without being put under this much pressure.
  2. Only 42 points per meeting. Averages based on 4 rides per rider per meeting. For heat 15 a riders average is usually divided by 5 (5 races instead of 4). Scoring 8 points from 4 races is the same average as scoring 10 points from 5 races.
  3. What is fanseat (out of interest)? I'm the same as you except I have Premier Sports instead of fanseat. Don't think I will bother with the stream (probably watch the football instead) since Tai is out. Would probably have got it if Cook etc were the replacement but not with Pearson on commentary and Harris riding.
  4. Have to agree. Suppose Britain were top with a last bend pass by Tai on Laguta in 2018 to top the points table by 1 point from Russia (think Cookie only had 1 race over the 2 days?). Would be more gutting to be 10 points clear and lose (even a 7-0 would still have left you short).
  5. I think you are right in saying the speedway hasn't used the football first aid room for a rider (was once used for a spectator I think a few seasons ago). I have quoted Ian Rae from facebook in the following post about your second point (if there is a county ambulance it is usually called for). The ambulance can leave the stadium if it has to but usually only as a last resort (used up at the training track in Duns sometimes). Ian Rae Berwick, for a number of years now have two Ambulance’s ( one is our own, the other from a private company )and two Paramedics at every meeting. I think Ian will know better than yourself or me? It is in speedway friends on a post from Roger Hutchins if you would like to check. You will also see this confirmed by Dennis so I would think Dennis and Ian know what they are talking about.
  6. I wonder what I was doing for the two days I took off my work (holidays) to fit sockets, new lights, heaters, help with the painting etc. I thought it was for the first aid room (that FIM wanted I think) but obviously it wasn't. I will agree it wasn't used as much as it could have been (luckily enough). John then bought an ambulance so it therefore was never really used after that. When the speedway started using the football changing room, I would suspect they would (if necessary) have use of the football room as well (would like to think as I replaced ballasts and lights in the rooms, hospitality area, toilets and the showers).
  7. Need to start following Poland's lead. Was told that G Laguta was unfit for the first leg of the grand final on the Thursday so was banned from racing in the second leg due to the rider having to be out for a certain length of time (would stop all this nonsense of being fit one night and then suddenly being unfit the next after an injury).
  8. I would laugh if Lublin were to get a 5-0 in heat 14. Teams normally wait until it's mathematically safe before celebrating.
  9. Berwick team (just watched total access) NBJ, Jye, Leon, Dany, Aaron, Kasper and Kyle. Kyle, Mason, Ben, Luke, Greg, Ryan and Kieran.
  10. Tend to agree that Summers did just ok. Leicester would have scored more than 11+1 with R/R
  11. Appears so. Thought Eddie Kennett was withdrawn from the British Final (on a Monday) after missing the meeting at Leicester (on a Saturday). What's the difference? arnieg said the following "I assume there will be no Ed Kennett following his absence last night [10.5 (h)]" on the British Final page. Thanks in advance.
  12. Think the format worked quite well (maybe let the team managers choose what number they want the R/R at to give them more options)? It was something along the lines of the old 6 man teams from the late 90's (remember Ipswich sending out Golob 1 race, Rickardsson the next, Louis the next etc).
  13. Think they have removed the number 5 rider and will use a nominated rider in these races (like an R/R race) so some riders will have 6 races and others 5. There will be 2 protected heats (alter heats 12 and 14) for reserves. Number 5 and 6 are reserves. Think that's what Gary was saying on his facebook chat (total access).
  14. Luke didn't mention having a sore knee last Friday night (on his facebook page or on the updates site). In fact he seemed to be racing for the Bullets on Saturday night (didn't say he was missing the meeting on his facebook page). I have come to the conclusion that the league will be decided by whoever's rising star is injured at the correct time so they can fit Alfie, Drew or Leon into their team. Luke Crang Speedway August 20th at 8.58pm · MONARCHS DRAW Edinburgh’s Sam Masters and Josh Pickering secured a last heat 5-1 to ensure a share of the spoils in tonight’s match against Kent. In a tough night for the home side they had to scrap their way back from the brink of defeat, and in truth Kent were the better side on the evening. On a personal level Luke got among the points, scoring 5 from his 3 rides and he hopes that will boost his confidence going forward. He said: “It was a very tough night for the boys and the track was tough to ride. I think it shows the character within the team that we managed to pull it back to get the draw.” Luke Crang Speedway August 20th at 10.44pm. · BULLETS V ROYALS Tomorrow night the Berwick Bullets take on the Kent Royals in National League action at Shielfield Park, following on from the Bandits match against the Kings. The Bullets will be aiming for crucial league points as they look to continue their title challenge! Get your tickets now - www.berwickspeedway.co.uk/tickets
  15. Was wondering how the teams would look like (fairly even). Luke possibly riding for Edinburgh or stepping aside due to only having made 1 appearance.
  16. Seems they aren't making the same mistake. Seen Doyle and Laguta have signed new contracts according to the Speedway GP website.
  17. Bet they wished they didn't have him under contract for this season and were able to keep Doyle instead (probably in the play-offs with Doyle).
  18. Just seen on the Newcastle facebook page that their meeting with Eastbourne is off next weekend. Wonder if the Berwick match goes ahead with the Eagles or possibly move the Glasgow match or an open meeting?
  19. Great performance. Got better each race he had. Seemed to be a trainee referee at that point (being trained by someone who was a trainee referee the last full speedway season we had). Could you imagine going to a football match between Hibs and Hearts and a Sunday League referee appears for the second half. If there is someone else on your line you need to race a slightly different line not ride into the side of them and knock the rider off. Hopefully Jye and Danny make a speedy recovery.
  20. Poole couldn't revert to their previous team due to the rider being dropped signing for another team. Sensible getting a facility (unless someone knows why the rider isn't in the country). A silly rule is when you can get a rider who has an average about 3 points higher than the rider they are replacing.
  21. Will the teams not already be declared? Would think if it's R/R it would be at 5 (or wherever Glasgow had Ulrich at prior to last night). Think Joe will be in double figures for league points now for the season? He seems to be struggling for points (possibly apart from a couple of matches). Hopefully he will improve as the season goes on.
  22. Seems to be 4 teams in the play-offs this season according to the Birmingham and Glasgow bits on the speedwaygb website (unless I am reading it wrong). Remember there being a discussion about the number of teams a couple of weeks ago (4 or 6 teams). Possibly was 6 teams before the season was shortened and the North/South split didn't happen?
  23. I just said we had a discussion about Berwick using him. We were wondering if later on in the season when teams are looking to get into the play-offs there may be a few "tactical" decisions to get a rider who will score more points into a meeting (that's where we were headed and thought that averages would be used for riders not being used as a rising star to try and eliminate this). I think it was Neil who covered this in another topic? My understanding (from his explanation) is that it wasn't Berwick who reverted the team back to having Coty (it was the BSPA)? As he said it was to stop teams from bringing in a rider before the averages changed (knowing the rider would miss the first meeting) to strengthen the team (possibly at the cost of the first match). If you waited until the rider could make his debut then the team average would be to high to make the change therefore making the team ineligible. Lets say Andersen was still available and Edinburgh wanted to replace Lawson and Kye got a new average that it makes the change impossible in a couple of weeks due to the team total average. If Edinburgh have a match and Andersen isn't available, before Kye gets his new average then they would revert back to having Lawson and would then be unable to make the proposed change due to the team average. Berwick could still make the change due to the rider having a lower average than the rider he was replacing and being under the points limit. See above.
