Usually buy DVD's from re-run most years. Was checking an e-mail from them when I asked.
-
Will the track shop have any DVDs from the wins at Edinburgh and Ipswich?

I am for 4 meetings. Jonas B also rode in the cup match as a guest. You therefore got 18 points (haven't watched match yet so going by your points totals) for Cook, Bewley and Riss. I think that's a fairer assessment than saying you got 9 points for Bewley and Cook. On another point about the tie being over. Ask Robert Lambert how his Swedish team got on last week after winning away the week before (Rospigarna 51-39). He won't be very impressed due to getting beat 52-38 at home.

Thought I saw last night that Craig was hoping to ride on Monday so hopefully not as bad as feared"

Workington v Newcastle 21/09/18 7:30 koc2nd leg
sparks123 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Could the fixtures be better arranged to take into account Polish div 2 fixtures? This could help with these cases as according to Rob in the Speedway Star there are two teams with Sunday race nights. On another point surely a British rider should be racing in Britain when there is a fixture clash in Poland? Was the Friday race nights mentioned as Lakeside seemed to hint in the Speedway Star that there was going to be a problem and that they were talking to Rye House about Saturday's (backing what Rob said about the teams being given a months notice and no matches had been rearranged). Was it mentioned at the fans forum why teams get 29 day facilities instead of 28 day facilities? Did they mention having the riders championship when there are no Polish playoffs? Back on topic Newcastle did well lasting till about the last week in September in the KOC. How many rounds did the two teams get through before facing each other? (funny that promotions say they cannot race when riders are going to be missing and then when riders are missing the team is slaughtered). -
Have to agree. Edinburgh have been through since June and still don't know who they are racing. See Rospigarna led their semifinal 51-39 going into their home leg (with Doyle, Fricke, Lambert etc) and still lost on aggregate
-
The simple matter is then for Peterborough to decline the rearranged meeting and then Workington could miss the playoffs (Peterborough have already qualified). Is that a better option? Teams should be willing to rearrange fixtures but making themselves weaker in not in the team or fans best interest.

Have to agree. Couple of things I would like to see different next season Trainee or probationary referees not taking control of championship league meetings with main meeting referee nowhere near the box (couldn't see a football referee taking control of an ECL match without working his/her way up). Willie Dishington wouldn't have started in the Championship in Scotland without working his way up. No problem with dead rubber matches (Berwick v Edinburgh in the shield or same teams after heat 7 in the KOC). Certain teams getting favours from the BSPA (a rider takes time out the sport then the team should get a 28 day facility not a 29 day facility).

Ipswich V Berwick

While I agree with you, according to Belle Vue they were informed by Ipswich that Mark was stepping down. Do you not think the decent thing for Mark to do is to inform his two clubs. -
Ipswich V Berwick

Wonder what meeting he is racing in in Germany? It says he is taking a break in the press release so surely if that's the case then for Ipswich to get a facility he will need to be banned for 28 days which will include Belle Vue matches as well. Not the clearest from Richie in the statement (spoke after Thursday meeting so Richie comment not relevant). -

Bad team management cost Eric 1st pick in the final. His team-mate who couldn't qualify by finishing 2nd in his 4th race passing Eric cost him the top qualifying position. -
I think Tai was harshly excluded. Greg was the same at Cardiff and didn't get excluded. At FIM events the start marshal will be told what to do (that's usually why they look up to the referee before they walk away). Should the riders not be pulled up from gate 1- gate 4? Inconsistent refereeing isn't new to the sport as Greg was excluded for not racing a couple of years ago but Joe Screen wasn't at Bydgoszcz when he let Mark Loram passed. (Mark would have been eliminated in the format if he wasn't second). Was it not also a British referee who excluded Tony R when he had a coming together with Mark and with Steffan Danno with Tony falling on both occasions?

Have you never complained about the Berwick track? Did you not report about Ricky Wells after Berwick winning earlier in the season. I could probably look back and see. Seem to recall Berwick just getting on with it at Armadale when most thought it was dodgy starting (didn't think there was much difference between that night and the night at Berwick at the start of the season which was off). Berwick also just got on with it at Ipswich so I assume Berwick are not one of the teams that "could do with a bit of the same". I recall when Craig broke the Berwick track record it was to grippy also.

Good to see Tero not to badly hurt after Thursday night. Did Robo come off at Glasgow? -
Workington v Edinburgh Ch 01/09/18 7:00pm
sparks123 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I thought it was changed to heat 10 (the season after Kyle and Lee Complin crashed in heat 10 at Workington v Berwick). I won't be back again this season (won't make the Edinburgh v Berwick match either). Good luck with the rest of your season and hope others follow your lead. -
It doesn't really help with most of the riders having about a 3 week gap between fixtures. Why was the deadline extended as Berwick and Sheffield showed that the league meetings could be done and dusted by the end of August if you run against GP's, World Cup's etc (Berwick even stepped in to host an extra meeting when others were unable to host). It seems to be the same teams every year that seems to drag their heels with the fixtures. We had a great summer when teams decided not to race
-
I have to agree. Berwick and Sheffield were the same in that they finished in August. Teams make excuses to move the cut off date and all it does is affect the teams that get on with the league meetings. It is mostly the same teams every year that drags the season out.
