  1. AAAArgh, someone quoted Gavan again ! This is the only response i'll give you "buddy" is that i blocked you because you're a dick, plain and simple. In real life I (and i suppose many others) wouldn't give you the time of day as you come across as a thoroughly unpleasant and nasty guy. As to your comments, do you really think I give a rats left testicle about your opinion ? you're definitely flattering yourself on that one. I presumed you were posting drunk as no one could possibly be that aggressive and as much of a dick whilst sober can they ? Otherwise they'd just be a bit of a .... oh , hang on. Bye loser.
  2. Adam had a good night ( my first meeting watching him ride at home for the pirates) his steel shoe came off in heat 15 and he clattered the air fence trying an outside sweep. A real battering for Leicester but you can only race what's put in front of you. Oh, and ease stop quoting Gavan. I have the drunkard on block and his ramblings are an embarrassment to the sport.
  3. I had a great night, you can only beat what's put in front of you.
  4. well my £85 was wasted on a hotel, they're like Leicester .... no refund offered, i'll think twice before going there again.
  5. Please stop quoting the twunts posts. I have him on ignore and his drunken ramblings keep popping up everytime someone gives him his little moment of fame.
  6. Well i'm leaving tomorrow for this one so I hope it's on !
  7. Adam missed out on winning the euro U21 by 1 point last year and was keen to do it again this year, especially as the final is here in France, less than 10kms from where he was born. No British riders were entered !!! just when our young riders need overseas experience this seems baffling.
  8. I can't understand the amount of grief Neil Vatcher gets from some quarters. He and his wife put in an incredible amount of work in the UK and all over Europe to help young British riders. I've seen him dead on his feet at 1am in the pits, collecting all the race bibs off the boys before a long drive home to wash them before he leaves for his work the following morning. The guy deserves a medal.
  9. Of course i'm proud of Adam, (as I am all my kids) but talk is cheap. I wouldn't like to think of the money i've spent over the years on speedway / grasstrack but at the end of the day it's Adams talent that has got him (and the other young riders) where they are today. There's quite a bit of money around the sport and I think (hope) that if the powers that be gave it a bit more thought and organisation it could be channeled into shaping team GB for the future.
  10. Drag the sport into the 21st century and understand that the internet exists, stop marketing it as a "family night out", promotors start promoting and not just preaching to the converted.
  11. Not sure what Gavan said as i have him on ignore but can't we just enjoy the fact that we now have several brilliant young riders coming through the ranks? If the BSPA get their act into gear and maybe the British companies that supported the Aussies and others could get some funding behind them, we could be challenging for world titles in years to come.
  12. It's hard enough to get youngsters into speedway as it is but second halves won't work. 5 years ago i'd drive to different tracks around the country with Adam, (bearing in mind we'd already driven over 1,000 kms in the first place to get to the uk) and curfews would kick in, sometimes you'd get three rides , sometimes two, sometimes none. We did it because it was what we wanted to do so the distance was a minor problem but I saw some parents say "sod this for a lark" and no doubt their sons are now riding moto X. Maybe a couple of youngsters per team on 250's riding one heat after every 4 heats ? they'll have the experience of racing in front of a crowd as opposed to two men and a dog, plus their last (of three ) rides would be a "heat 16 " so wouldn't drag on too late. If during the BSPA agm the ridiculous returning to the pits after every dodgy start was banned, meetings would move on more swiftly, everyones a winner ?
  13. Thanks for your help, not a bad night including two heat wins, just the overnight drive back to Stoke now. Onwards and upwards.
  14. Not signed as such, just doing a meeting, we'll see how it goes. Just wanted to follow the meeting if possible.
  15. Can anyone point me in the direction of a link to follow league racing in Denmark?
  16. I haven't spoken to Adam in depth since the SWC and this is my own personal view. Speedway in the UK will always be the poor relation, The NSS track was based on European sizes and produced great racing on saturday night, crowds flocked in, riders loved it, speedway as it should be. In the last 40 years or so we've seen massive leaps in terms of machinery, riders equipment, availability of bikes /frames /supplies etc… It's probably never been easier to get started in the sport, the problem is that tracks are still stuck in the 60's / 70's in terms of organisation / presentation etc and the sports abject failure to move with the times in terms of social media exposure and advertising . 40 years ago the likes of Rye House, Lakeside, Eastbourne et al, were quirky little tracks that pulled in the punters week in week out; However since the (apart from the introduction of air fences and track suffices which become unrideable if it's spitting with rain) nothing has changed, nothing ! The whole world has moved on in terms of sport / entertainment and what people expect in terms of value for money but British speedway is still stuck in the land of Buddy Holly and the Dave Clark 5. There has been a massive failure to move with the times when there was money floating around and the reason that British riders struggle isn't that they don't get to race on European tracks enough, it's that British tracks don't resemble european tracks at all. Foreign riders get to race every week on big tracks and Brits get to ride at places who's biggest claim to fame is that they provide the best fish & chips in speedway. in the past there was a lot of money in the sport, unfortunately seemed to make some people very rich while failing to reinvest in the most basic thing needed… the tracks. Get those right, provide the most basic standards of hygiene in toilets ( not rocket science), provide some decent ambience to go with the racing and for god's sake learn how to use the world wide web to promote.
  17. I was over last week and i'm over in a few weeks time too. Unfortunately work gets in the way sometimes.
  18. That should be the end of the thread, i'm jealous as i'm over a thousand miles away. Hope everyone has a good one and GB get a medal. ( obviously hope Adam gets a ride too but there you go)
  19. All this bitching, moaning and complaining is …. well, just bitching, moaning and complaining. It's the kind of thing expected of ten year olds, i'm sure the people doing it will go up to the riders on Saturday and tell them face to face exactly what they think of them.
  20. Don't quote me on this but I think the offer came from Belle Vue, plus the team wasn't announced till Saturdy so 48 hrs isn't too bad to get stuff sorted. As I said the other day, Rosco doesn't seem bothered, the guys who were there didn't seem bothered. It's only a few on here who're getting flustered. No wonder most riders steer clear of this site.
