  1. Because of this site and social media etc, you tend to hear about the injuries more . In "the good old days ( where TWK et al live) by the time the carrier pidgeon had brought the news of an injury the guy was back on track .
  2. Many riders arrange a mechanic to meet them at the track, only the well sponsored ones can afford to pay / have their mechanic paid for by the club. Adam got the call late the previous night and had to drive from Birmingham back to near Wimbourne, get up early and clean his bikes , suit etc before setting off again at lunchtime. He put a shout out on twitter and a mechanic was arranged, nothing unusual in that .
  3. the bike took out the first panel, he took out the rest, a bit sore but he'll live
  4. Maybe i'm being naive but for a club that closed last year, surely getting the word out there through as many means as possible ( whether it's "official " or fan based ) is a good thing ?
  5. where would you sent the brits who are quite happy to live on the dole and ponce off the state ?
  6. i love the "bloody foreign scroungers " threads, they just conveniently forget that there's more brits claiming benefits abroad than "foreigners" claiming benefits here. Not forgetting of course what wonderfully honest hard workers all the brits are, who would never claim benefits they weren't entitled to etc …. Although this has nothing to do with speedway the usual subjects do seem to pop up and take over with their "opinions"
  7. i've noticed a few other clubs, Eastbourne, Mildenhall to name a couple have raised the money through appeals to fit out the riders with matching kevlars. Is this the case too for the brummies ?
  8. kevlars for the team provided by the club …… this is national league we're talking about ?
  9. Domestic speedway could learn a hell of a lot from lots of sports on how they're packaged and presented, but we all know that's a long way off .
  10. getting popcorn out and sitting back to watch the fallout on here in the next few days. should be fun !
  11. this x 1000 I find it amazing that sponsors seem to be able to be "found" for foreign riders who basically steal places from British riders. There have been a few FT riders this year who should be in the main body and some who really would benefit from another year in the scheme. Meanwhile foreign riders are being "given the chance", sponsors found to help pay for good equipment, and the Brits are being left behind whilst at the same time being told they're not good enough. As a parent of a FTR it pi$$es me of to see all the names of british companies on foreign riders suits when there's no effort from the powers that be to direct some of this funding / help to young British riders. They grab the glory of a British world champ while doing nothing to help the guys on the bottom of the ladder . rant over
  12. Harvie is a good moto x rider and has done some training over here . I know his dad very well and he's a good kid. He could turn out to be a surprise signing .
  13. Saw a lot if riders wearing Go pro cameras Didn't the FIM ban them last week?
  14. I don't normally get involved in discussing Adams finances, but before this descends into a lot of posts on the subject I can assure you it's not about the money !
  15. maybe Adam should have taken french nationality ?
  16. maybe, but he's not going to lakeside for sure
