  1. KKS will be on here soon. He/she supports most clubs in the EL.
  2. A red hot summer was also predicted this year Orlovski!
  3. Was he wearing purple chino's? If he was it may have been Gater1. Oh no sorry, he switched allegiances this season
  4. When it matters most blueboy, Batch is found wanting. Maybe I have been spoilt in watching the great Leigh Adams when he led Swindon. Whenever there were crucial races to win or last heat decides, Leigh would deliver. I can't remember Batch ever doing it.
  5. Probably referring to the fact that there was a good possibility that the Aces would have increased their advantage in heat 15?
  6. I personally find it sad to see the decline of such a high class rider. Hopefully if he returns we will see the old 'Fast Freddie'.
  7. Agreed, and having attended both the first and last meetings at Smallmead, I will confess to having a soft spot for our 'noisy neighbours ' Apologies again. ER.
  8. Yes sorry I came across poorly there. I guess I'm getting a little frustrated with the situation. No offence intended.
  9. I sure do think you are being negative. Yes I sympathise with you and what happened at Reading. I for one used to thoroughly enjoy my trip down the M4 to watch the Robins (in the last few years) give the Racers a spanking with half the crowd being Robins fans, but please don't continue to bring your negativity to this thread. There is enough concern from Swindon fans that this historic club may not feature next season thanks.
  10. In terms of sheer effort it has to be Starkey. In regards to pure entertainment, Endeavour, and breathtaking speedway (especially at the OTA) it has to be Charles Wright for me.
  11. The bogs are staying in place Sid. The new stadium is being built around them.
  12. Pretty good shout OldTimer. Starkey has more often than not ridden at least 6 times per meeting all season. And whilst it's good for the bank balance, it does take its toll on both rider and machinery. Nice to see you posting positively too!
  13. MNormally agree with you Grach, but the Aces to win the title? No chance whatsoever. As I've always said, the Pirates are far too strong for any side over two legs.
  14. Have to say it's great to see the Robins in the play offs again. What a record Rosco has getting teams into the play offs. Isn't it something like 8 times in the last 9 years? Despite the predictions from some that Swindon would be cannon fodder or even wooden spoonists, once again the Robins have been in the mix. That said, sadly I can't see any medals this year. Last nights performance, whilst appreciating it was a 'dead wood' meeting, was an example of how Batch can look very ordinary and he often looks ordinary when it really matters. It is occasions like the play offs that teams need a proper number one. I reckon we may beat Belle Vue but Poole in the final will be a bridge too far.
  15. This isn't the best Poole side of more recent times, but it's good enough to win this league. Over two legs, a very difficult side to beat.
  16. How can you say that? If North was on his best machinery, who knows, Holder may have had some gremlins, or someone else may have not been at their best. Furthermore, Batchelor could have scored more or Kildemand may have stayed on his bike and won that race. All 'ifs buts and maybes'
  17. Leigh ADAMS was the best I've seen. He team rode with almost every riding partner given the opportunity. From memory, there were classic examples of the art by Lee with the late Lee Richardson, Mateij Zagar and Simon Stead. I even watched in amazement as he rode almost elbow to elbow with the likes of David Ruud, Travis McGowan and James Wright. More recently Darcy Ward and Maciej Janowski have great natural ability in this skill.
  18. Every team will get beat by Poole. Easily the strongest side.
  19. Too late for that mate, 'diving' in speedway has been here for years.
  20. Starry is not a bad lad. He's a closet Somerset fan really, he just needs to come out!
  21. I recall him beating Leigh Adams fair and square a few years back.
