  1. Blimey confers, the Bakers Arms at Badbury? I've seen better bogs on the back straight at Blunsdon!
  2. Bachelor has proved to be a loyal servant for the Robins. However, he hasn't developed as well as expected. Often in pressure situations, he doesn't deliver. If I were Rosco, I wouldn't hesitate in bringing in Ward for Batchelor. The revenue for the club would improve considerably with Darcy in the side, moreover, the entertainment will undoubtedly increase!l Come on Rosco, now is the time.
  3. It's probably been said before, but if there is any way possible, Ward should be shoe horned in. At Poole, they are simply ruthless and make changes when required. Ward would be an absolutely massive crowd puller, and with Swindon still in with a shout for the play offs, surely efforts should be made to get him in. Sure, some sacrifices would need to be made, but in the position the Robins are in, then there is no room for sentiment. Ward will quickly return to Poole next season, but I am sure there will be room at the 'The new Blunsdon' for either Holder or Janowski.
  4. Swindon fans used to refer to him as a 'bottler' as he would enevitably fail to deliver at the business end of the meeting. Eventually Rosco rode him at number two so as his last race was in heat 10!!
  5. My error, completely mis read your post. I meant the British final in which Louis senior scored a 15 point maximum!
  6. What was awful about the conditions HKP? I was there but don't recall any issues.
  7. Not many gaters in the Somerset side, so Newcastle must have been sluggish from the gate! Wright, Starke and Kurtz regularly miss the start and rely on their ability to come from the back on a regular basis. Often leads to superb racing at the OTA though!
  8. I genuinely think that he wasnt bright enough to understand the prompts from Pearson and Tatum.
  9. This time of year the scrumpy is particularly strong! Starkey's aim is to get into the Rebels main team this year. His recent scores suggest it won't be too long before he does!
  10. When was the last time Harris was decent at Poole? Can't see him scoring more than 7 or 8 personally. A poor replacement for NKI.
  11. Wolves is always a tough place to go and win. Most of the Robins seem to be in decent form at the moment so things look good to get something from Monmore. Always good racing at Wolves and with Kildemand and Morris in our side, tomorrow will be no different I am sure. If the weather stays kind, I predict a two point Wolves win.
  12. Having predicted an easy home win, I have to say that the Diamonds provided the Rebels with a much harder task than I thought. Credit to Kerr, Henry and Lindgren who all battled superbly. More often than not these three outdated the Rebels. Furthermore, on two occasions they were either first or second when first Lindgren, then Kerr came to grief. Kerr's crash looked particularly frightening after he clipped the back straight fence whilst chasing Starke. He lay stricken on the track for ten minutes receiving treatment before hobbling back to the pits (and getting a terrific round of applause from the Somerset fans). He showed real grit by coming out for his final two rides and continuing to mix it with the Rebels riders Once again another superb nights racing, and although witnessed by a somewhat modest crowd, once again it is the stay away fans who don't come because they don't like the look of the make up of various teams, that miss out. Great racing at the OTA is guaranteed!!
  13. It's the absent fans that also miss out on the superb racing which is almost guaranteed each week.
  14. Or you could even say that Swindon were without their number one (Kildemand or Meidzinski) and their second top rider Batchelor was under the weather. All ifs and buts and maybe's. Fact is, Swindon gained 3 points, Coventry 1 point. Probably both sides would have taken that before the meeting. Looking forward to our traditional 3/4 points at Brandon though!! There has always been a good atmosphere between Cov and Swindon fans. Similar actually to that of the relationship with Poole fans. Thank goodness we have a sport where we can stand with opposing fans rather than the meat head sport that purports to be our national game.
  15. Makes no odds to me who was right or who was wrong Coombers. Healthy debate is always good!
  16. Thecoombdog biased? You must be having a laugh! I spent half the Robins championship winning season debating the value of Simon Stead being worth his place in the team!
  17. Heat 14 against Rye House was pretty special too. There seems to be more passing and re passing this season. The recent heavy home wins certainly don't reflect the standard of racing. I think he also enjoys being the "pantomime villain" He was smiling broadly as he received his traditional booing from the Somerset faithful on parade.
