  1. Surely if Kent are closing move the show to Eastbourne and open next season.
  2. Can’t see a threat to the meeting. Heavy rain today will pass for a most dry wi dry day tomorrow, and a day day Tuesday with sunny periods.
  3. Of course it’s not ignorance. It’s friendly banter. I could have said perhaps Nessy will be in the crowd for extra support or I am looking forward to a deep fried Mars bar washed down with some Irn Brew. With an och aye the noo thrown in for good measure. Most would see it has harmless banter and nothing more. Surprised we haven’t all been called Dorset Knobs in return. Scotland is a beautiful country and I love to visit the Highlands. But it seems it’s best to avoid the main cities where the welcome isn’t as friendly as the folk who live in more rural areas.
  4. So Scots don’t do a bit of friendly banter. I understand. Hope we stuff ‘em out of sight like we did Edinburgh.
  5. It was clearly a bit of fun/banter. If you take offence at nonsense like that there’s no hope.
  6. Fingers crossed it all goes ahead as the price of changing the flights is probably more than the original cost. Going to be 30 hours no sleep as it stands. The weather here has been mild, with 15 C about as low as it has got. Seeing Glasgow as single digits means bringing a proper coat. We haven’t had a cold night this autumn so far, so a shock to the system is on the cards. The problem with flying nd having no base is that we have to cart everything around with us. Not great. Ideally we would have. Hotel at a fair price and a mid day return flight so no panic getting to the airport. Hope at 7 am Wednesday morning I am not thinking, why did I come all this way for no sleep and a 26 point defeat? (I know that won’t happen)
  7. All the team are on good form. We are not carrying anyone and if a rider has a bad meeting, then we have a good reserve. However, Ben Basso has not ridden at Glasgow so will take 2 races to get used to it. I do expect Glasgow to take a lead to Poole. But will it be enough?
  8. They are giving Monday and Tuesday mostly dry. Rain Sunday. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcuvz3bch#?nearestTo=Glasgow (Glasgow City)&date=2021-11-02
  9. Well there are 25,000 visitors in town for the big event. Restaurants could be very busy I will check it out thanks.
  10. If we can’t make it for the ladt bus to the airport at 10.30, we might just go for a curry and beer in the city before grabbing a taxi to the airport later. So what are the good curry houses or place to get a beer. Not Wetherspoons.
  11. For those Poole fans who didn’t make the press conference after the meeting, here it is in all its glory.
  12. Just looked up Kelvingrove museum and art gallery. Right up my street. Here’s a question. The stadium to Buchanan Bus Station for the last bus to the airport at 10.30pm. Walking approx 45 mins. Bit of a hike. Are there buses from the stadium, or better to call a taxi?
  13. Thanks. I wear a face mask as a matter of course and courtesy to others. Never would enter a building without one. Only COVIDIOTS wouldn’t wear a mask.
  14. Is this how Glasgow fans treat visiting fans, with threatening undertones? Happened a few times on this thread.
  15. There must be a shuttle to the city centre from the airport, and back after the meeting. The seats in the airport are our b@b Tuesday night, with a 7 am flight back to Gatwick arriving 8.30 am. Saves a hell of a lot of driving!
  16. Not much talk from Glasgow fans on the subject of the meeting. Are they afraid to bring it up? I will make a prediction.Glasgow will need a 14-16 point lead to be champions. If it’s 10 they still have a chance but need a rider to step up and score who hasn’t done too well at Poole in the past. Less then 10 and Pirates have every chance to be Champs. Well me and Rob have decided to fly up after all. 9 am from Gatwick to Glasgow, giving us most of the day up there before the meeting. Is there much to see in Glasgow? Or better to zip over to Edinburgh? I am not interested in walking around Primark or a shopping Center.
  17. Hopefully the club can be built back bigger and stronger.
  18. Fans are important, hence the reason the meeting was moved to next week. First of all, the biggest 2 meetings of the season just 48 hours apart is ludicrous and would hit attendances as fans would have to fork out twice in a week. And secondly, Poole finished top. Why take the first leg of the final, and if we win it, celebrate in front of 8 supporters in Glasgow when the club can celebrate, should we be successful, in front of thousands? The reason for the allowance to ride in November is simply because the season started late because of covid, and also because a couple of clubs, (not Poole who haven’t had a single rainoff this season) decided to postpone important meetings because of THE THREAT of rain. This delayed meetings and put playoff clubs back a week or two. Poole have every right to demand the second leg as they finished top. Otherwise what is the point of the league part of the season if the team finishing top of the pile has no reward? As for not racing next Wednesday, as has already been pointed out, AFC Bournemouth are at home. Many fans support both clubs and it would affect the size of the crowd by a few hundred. Also, with Glasgow being 478 miles from Poole, to expect riders to leave Glasgow at 10pm, get home, sleep, clean bikes, get to Poole and race in the most important meeting of the season is pushing it. Give them a days grace and everyone will be raring to go. Fingers crossed for better weather next week and an exciting end to the season. Let the best team win.
