  1. For those Poole fans who didn’t make the press conference after the meeting, here it is in all its glory.
  2. Just looked up Kelvingrove museum and art gallery. Right up my street. Here’s a question. The stadium to Buchanan Bus Station for the last bus to the airport at 10.30pm. Walking approx 45 mins. Bit of a hike. Are there buses from the stadium, or better to call a taxi?
  3. Thanks. I wear a face mask as a matter of course and courtesy to others. Never would enter a building without one. Only COVIDIOTS wouldn’t wear a mask.
  4. Is this how Glasgow fans treat visiting fans, with threatening undertones? Happened a few times on this thread.
  5. There must be a shuttle to the city centre from the airport, and back after the meeting. The seats in the airport are our b@b Tuesday night, with a 7 am flight back to Gatwick arriving 8.30 am. Saves a hell of a lot of driving!
  6. Not much talk from Glasgow fans on the subject of the meeting. Are they afraid to bring it up? I will make a prediction.Glasgow will need a 14-16 point lead to be champions. If it’s 10 they still have a chance but need a rider to step up and score who hasn’t done too well at Poole in the past. Less then 10 and Pirates have every chance to be Champs. Well me and Rob have decided to fly up after all. 9 am from Gatwick to Glasgow, giving us most of the day up there before the meeting. Is there much to see in Glasgow? Or better to zip over to Edinburgh? I am not interested in walking around Primark or a shopping Center.
  7. Hopefully the club can be built back bigger and stronger.
  8. Fans are important, hence the reason the meeting was moved to next week. First of all, the biggest 2 meetings of the season just 48 hours apart is ludicrous and would hit attendances as fans would have to fork out twice in a week. And secondly, Poole finished top. Why take the first leg of the final, and if we win it, celebrate in front of 8 supporters in Glasgow when the club can celebrate, should we be successful, in front of thousands? The reason for the allowance to ride in November is simply because the season started late because of covid, and also because a couple of clubs, (not Poole who haven’t had a single rainoff this season) decided to postpone important meetings because of THE THREAT of rain. This delayed meetings and put playoff clubs back a week or two. Poole have every right to demand the second leg as they finished top. Otherwise what is the point of the league part of the season if the team finishing top of the pile has no reward? As for not racing next Wednesday, as has already been pointed out, AFC Bournemouth are at home. Many fans support both clubs and it would affect the size of the crowd by a few hundred. Also, with Glasgow being 478 miles from Poole, to expect riders to leave Glasgow at 10pm, get home, sleep, clean bikes, get to Poole and race in the most important meeting of the season is pushing it. Give them a days grace and everyone will be raring to go. Fingers crossed for better weather next week and an exciting end to the season. Let the best team win.
  9. Yes Carlisle or perhaps a bit further south so we don’t have massive journey next day. Reckon a three hour drive south from Glasgow would be a good stopping point. I am ok as I have a camper van but Rob will need a travel lodge. See how knackered we will be. The hotels are taking the pee. Was going to fly from Gatwick, at £75 return, but can’t get a hotel so either sleep or doze at the airport before a 9 am return flight, or just drive and be our own captains. 8 hours drive plus stops so leaving around 8 am. Easy drive but just a very long way. Couple of hundred quid of fuel I should think. Just hope the weather is set ok. A long way to go for a rainoff.
  10. Well me and Rob have decided to come up for this one. Got oxygen tanks in the van as the air is a bit more rarified up there, and bringing an air rifle incase we get attacked by an angry herd of haggises. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to learn some of the lingo. Gonnae no' dae that really. We have to drive straight back as hotels are up to £1000 a night! Not Mad wae it, see how far we can get back before finding a travel lodge. If you see us in our Poole jackets, cone and say hello. We don’t bite!
  11. Just got back from a great nights speedway worthy of a final. Track in top notch shape. Well Don to Terry (trackerman) riders liked it. Pirates just too strong for Monarchs who gave it their best shot. Poole’s strength in depth proving too much. Only 4 heat winners all night tells the story. For Poole: worrall excellent. Only dropped a point Al night in heat one. Danyon battled for his points. Rory unbeaten and on top form. Paid 15. Retiring a season or two too early imo. Cook battled and improved. Unlucky to be swept up in heat 14 when just about to take the lead. (See earlier posted video) King only dropped one point. Kennedy did his job. Better than expected. Well done to him. Basso was struggling for speed but changed his bike and rattled off two straight wins. For Monarchs: Masters started well but faded Rowe struggled Thompson was not in the pace and not near a point. Pickering disappointed. Expected more from him. Better here last time. Worrall had a couple of great battles with King and his bruv. Kemp as expected was hit then cold. Fair play to the youngster. Edwards found the going a bit too tough. So the Pirates win the KO Cup in front of a noisy and large crowd. I didn’t see any Edinburgh fans but if there were few there, I am sure they wouldn’t have been too disappointed. Next up Glasgow. Looking forward to it already.
  12. A great meeting. Commiserations to Monarchs who battled hard but Pirates too strong.
  13. Just been announced if weather looking dodgy then the second leg is next Thursday for playoff final.
  14. Track is excellent. Brilliant race with King Worrall. Well done Trackerman!
  15. Of course it is. It’s Rob McCaffrey with his usual anti Poole diatribes. He despises us and his past rants in the Premier section were quite amusing but for the fact he meant every word. No one on this thread or any other Poole thread has been boasting, being intolerable, or anything else for that matter. A bit of banter, well it is a sport, but little else. Heading down shortly. Will Chuck up some clips of track/pits/parade etc. later on my Twitter. @steveshovlar
  16. Friday looks a dry day after early morning rain. A risk of a few showers in the morning to leave a dry afternoon and evening. Season should be done and dusted by 10pm Friday.
