  1. I have to ask. Has Janowski been nobbled? Not made a start since when he was leading the series by a mile. It’s ridiculous that he hadn’t made one start in 4 GP’s. Beyond comprehension. The guy is one of the best riders in the world. Everyone can see he is trying during the race.
  2. No not at all. The machinist would be on around £8-£10 a day if they are skilled. Could be made in Vietnam.
  3. Then it should be remade from the sweatshops of Thailand. I would buy one. Probably £100 ish.
  4. Agree with others. Get a few riders who are not in the actual meeting to ride lots of laps to make some racing lines. Gate 4 a dead duck as Madsen and Zmarzlik have just show . 50 laps between 5-6 riders would turn the track into something all riders could race on. These first 4 heats have been great for riders who drew the inside but unfair to those out wide. No fan of Either Zmarzlik or Madsen but come on, not fair.
  5. Easy Pirates win. If it’s R/R for Jorgensen it could be Poole v 7 rides Adam Ellis.
  6. Rotten luck for Plymouth. Would have probably won if Worrall hadn’t knocked off Bjarne in heat 13 forcing him to withdraw.
  7. I would be more than happy to pay for a stream of Redcar v Poole as would many other speedway fans.
  8. Because Poole pay their riders on time. Fuel expenses are put against his tax bill, and sitting in a can for hours on end are part of the job. Most of the Poole team travel to Dorset for home meetings. Rory Schlein from Coventry, Basso from Denmark overstaying at Middlos, Worrall from Cleethorpes, King from near Peterborough, Neilsen from Beccles, Hume from Aylesbury, Ben Cook at Middlos.
  9. Why would they not run the meeting in the next month or so? This cancellation would have been the last thing the Poole promotion would have wanted, smack bang in the middle of the holiday season and the weather set fair.
  10. Not going to get into your spat but Zane Keleher was the worst rider of 20 there by the proverbial. Regardless of the behind the scenes issue he would have been out by now from his on track riding.
  11. They are lease holders. They don’t own the stadium. They cannot submit plans to build houses as they don’t own it!
  12. But it’s summer holidays with lots of people in the area. These people swell the crowd and the club make a profit. Running the meeting mid Sept means a smaller crowd and lost opportunity to swell the coffers. It’s pretty disastrous to be honest.
  13. Felt sorry for the lad who was leading heat 2 against Poole and in for a point against Plymouth before falling. Good luck to the lad and glad nothing is broken. He will be scoring his first points for his club soon.
  14. Terrible news. Had a few minor spats with Phil over the last year or so re: brexit but didn’t even know he was unwell. Condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P.
  15. https://poole-speedway.com/news/view/2021-08-09-POSITIVE-COVID-TO-STADIUM-STAFF-CAUSES-POSTPONEMENT-FOR-THE-PIRATES
  16. What an utter pain in the ass. Summer holidays big crowd expected and a few stadium staff get covid.
  17. I heard yesterday that Newcastle can only used British riders due to Brexit. The promotion cannot bring in foreign riders due to the business being less than 1 year old. New brexit red tape.
  18. With Pirates now up to second in the league after our win at Newcastle yesterday, we move on to Wednesday and the visit of Redcar to Wimborne Road. Weather looks settled and warm and it might be the chance to see Poole go top of the league, depending on the Kent v Glasgow meeting tomorrow. Rumour has it we will see the return of big hitting reserve Ben Cook after his leg injury. Poole. Schlien Guest Worrall Neilsen King Cook tbc Hume. Redcar ? Should be 3 points but no complacency.
  19. Not quite. The track was very wet for the Poole meeting and more or less perfect for the Plymouth meeting. Some riders preferred the wet conditions while other riders, the home team, excelled when the track was more consistent. As for the haves and have nots, yes Poole is always built to the “haves”. It means wins and a strong following. Crowds at Wimborne Road have been very good for the last two home fixtures and with ~Redcar visiting on wednesday it should be another big crowd. Winning means bigger crowd. Very pleased Newcastle bounced back from a mauling to win the second one.
  20. Newcastle were abject against Poole earlier but showing Plymouth a clean pair of heels Us Poole fans wont be home until 4 am and some have work if any left earlier good for them!
  21. Really? Looking at raintoday.co.uk I would be surprised to see it clear away in 40 minutes. But stranger things have happened.
