  1. As soon as riders stand around they go into non race mode and don’t fancy it. Seen it so many times. One or two can sway it for the majority.
  2. Seems it’s being showed delayed or Premier sports are doing a Eurosport and will join half way through heat 7.
  3. Sportsmania has all Sports channels except NSport. Been a member for years. Virtually every sports channel you can think of and catchup as well. Can’t fault it.
  4. Was just about to renew goldvod for the Polish league but luckily read Premier Sports are showing it. Must admit I enjoy the Polish commentary. Very excitable and prefer that. But well done Premier Sports for having the savvy to pick up the feeds.
  5. While we wait for some live action, let’s take a look at this great meeting from 19 years ago. Recently put up in YouTube. Very exciting meeting.
  6. This meeting is too recent. What about showing some classic league action featuring Trick or Loram? The Poole v Coventry league meeting where Loram and Hamill are literally bashing into each other? The Cegeilski meeting wall of death v Coventry? What about Poole winning away? There’s enough to choose from.
  7. Coventry acted appallingly and their promotion were a total disgrace. Trump nearly got his club thrown out of the league and was rightly banned for life for any involvement in the sport. Their underhand tactics of using Pawlicki only occassionally stunk the sport out so they had a ringer at reserve for the final. No wonder most other promotions, with the exception of the Peterborough promotion, who latter realised their mistake, we’re against them. The following year showed them up for what they were, chancers, as they finished rock bottom and Poole went on to clean up the league and playoff final.
  8. Don’t forget, the greyhounds do not own Poole Stadium. They are leaseholders from the council. Should the greyhounds go pop, the lease would return to the council. The land also has a covenant on it that it was given to the council for the sole use of recreational sports.
  9. A very sad loss. Such a nice chap. Hopefully a lovely tribute to Gordy will be coming when speedway returns to Wimborne Road.
  10. Terribly sad news. Gordie was a genuinely nice chap and I always enjoyed talking to him. A real loss to the club and speedway in general. Held in high regard by many riders who visited. RIP.
  11. I recall this. So many Poole fans made the trip up, possibly outnumbering the locals. Some good racing as well if I remember. One to watch.
  12. No we are just fine as we are, the biggest club in the sport no matter what league. Other fans must have a team to aspire to and want to emulate. That goes for all sport. Mind you I haven’t noticed us acting as “big time Charlie’s” since The club was taken down. Perhaps the professionalism of the club makes us look that way?
  13. Have yet to see a club put on a home defeat. The clubs are playing to their own fans and rightly so. I am enjoying the Edinburgh videos and Redcar as well. Some good racing.
  14. How weird. Surely the Poole videos are for the Poole fans and if we have been basking in our glory that is what our fans want to see. And boy do we have a lot of trophies to show for it! The most successful club in the sports modern era by the proverbial mile. No other club comes close. Your dislike of anything Poole is frankly hilarious. As for the meetings that other clubs have been showing, some are good some are very poor, like Ipswich v KL snooze fest on Thursday. The IOW meeting videos are good quality but the racing is marginally above dire. Not sure what meeting Poole will show on Wednesday but pretty sure it will be another good one for the Poole fans. You are not forced to watch it.
  15. Shame both legs can’t be shown. Though I remember what John Cook did to the Lakeside track that night. Paid off against Swindon in the semis but Middlo was wise to that trick and the riders were ready for it.
  16. Thought it was great racing with loads of passing tonight. Wolves just not at the same level. A young Freddie Lindgren showing his potential, Lindback showing brilliance, with Bjarne showing why he was so popular for Poole fans.
  17. Streamed last night and a very enjoyable meeting to watch as well.
  18. Never been away. Just nothing worth commenting on.
  19. Sorry to read this news. Just like The Doctor, I remember Mark from the speedway mailing list years ago. RIP
  20. There’s two hopes of getting a home Premier league match ticket for AFC Bournemouth. No hope and Bob Hope. Bob has left the building. Any empty seats seen are season ticket holders who have not turned up. The system used to get a regular ticket for Bournemouth home games makes it almost completely impossible due to the points system in place. Touts possibly the only bet to get inside the ground. Believe if Bournemouth had a 25,000 capacity it would still be full.
  21. Season ticket is not a good deal. I am away at end of April for two weeks in Italy, again in June for two weeks in eastern Europe, with a further two weeks pencilled in for France in September. Seriously £20 inc program to watch second div racing is not value and people will think twice about coughing up to watch certain teams that don’t set the pulses racing. I am fortunate in that I can afford it but there are many who will give it serious though whether to bother watching the likes of Newcastle, Berwick etc.
  22. So we save a whopping £1 on last years prices for second division speedway? Terrible. A more realistic price would be £14.
  23. I will give it a chance. But I am expecting crowds to be down. Happens in all sports. Crowds drop the lower the league.
