  1. You won’t in the final either. Swindon are going to make Ipswich a new one. Swindon fans are of course being cautious and rightly so but being neutral and not caring who wins, it’s a final that’s very easy to predict. Is there anyone who actually believes Ipswich have a proper chance? I would really love Ipswich to be able to take a lead into the second leg but this is not realistic. Iversen is not a threat to Doyle in the U.K and going through the teams the only advantage is Allen at reserve.
  2. Never understood Matt Fords call to not bring Adam Ellis back to Poole. A likeable rider who did well in the season he had with us. Thought it was a mistake at the time and Matts error was certainly Swindon’s gain.
  3. Wolves are certainly missing a PK, Sam or Corey. But then most clubs are in that boat. Shows how the sport has dived in this country.
  4. The form of Masters was always going to be an issue. He badly let his Polish club down in there playoffs, poodling around at the back while riders like Klindt and Walasek were busting a nut for the cause. A bit like Holder was for Poole at Ipswich. Perhaps when the going gets tough some Aussie riders go awol. Wolves should do all in their power to keep Douglas and Becker. Both showed great improvement through the season. First names for next year? Both Thorsell and Morris were poor. Doubt Morris will be invited back. Thorsell is a long way from that guy who smashed everyone at Monmore. That injury has taken away the edge he had. And he can be poor away from home. Schlein and Howarth? Schlein did try but he is now in the twilight of his career. Howarth has got as far as his ability will take him. Decent second string/good reserve. One of the bigger issues seems to be the team manager. Peter Adams lack of enthusiasm shone through like a beacon. He is well regarded amongst riders and fans but is he now living off past glory? I want to see my team manager motivating the riders and showing passion. Perhaps it’s time for Adams to move aside and bring in a younger more enthusiastic manager, possibly an ex rider who has connections with Wolverhampton? Depending on league structure I wouldn’t be suprised to see Thorsell, Schlein, Howarth, Becker and Douglas return. Morris and Masters released.
  5. One thing I did notice. When Ellis rides with Doyle he seems more confident. His starting seems better and he is fast and gone. But when in a heat without Doyle he seems less confident. Do Swindon fans notice this? He has continued to improve and seems to be close to becoming third heat leader. Just a little inconsistent.
  6. Well done to both teams for making the final. But unless something utterly dramatic happens this will go down as one of the most one sided finals in the history of the top flight. I hope Ipswich can somehow come away with some kind of first leg lead to make it a bit more thrilling than the last semi final, but I am not holding out much hope. Man for man Swindon are stronger in virtually every place. Current weather forecast is for showers in the afternoon and evening but it’s too far away to be accurate at the moment. 42-48ish.
  7. Stop being more of a pillock than you already are. Poole will not be in the CL.
  8. Who is turning their back on their club? Not me. I am a home and away supporter and will continue to be so. I have been to every track this season and will visit every track next season. A proper Pirates fan who actually attends meetings supporting the team. Not a pretend fan who follows from speedwayupdates or twitter.
  9. Expect exactly the same next week. An fairly easy win for Swindon at Ipswich followed by a 58-32 type scoreline next Thursday.
  10. A wolves fan whose team has been squashed with no fight and a manager who would rather be in McDonalds. Well done to Swindon. All too easy. Same again next week though. Ipswich are not a good team even though in the final. Expecting it to be similar.
  11. A decent race at last though Schlein waived him through for some unfathomable reason on the last lap.
  12. Adams should fall on his sword after this. Failed to motivate his team at all. The whole 1-7 showing the same apathy. Where’s the pride? All teams get well beaten at times but normally there’s a couple of riders showing some grit.
  13. They are a good team. The changes made with Jensen coming in made a huge difference and changed them from potential playoffs to clear favourites.
  14. A team takes its lead from the top. Everytime the camera has been on Peter Adams he is chewing gum and had a blank look on his face. Did he have a labotomy recently? A passionless manager who has gone well past his sell by date. And his grit and pride has rubbed off on his team, half of who can’t even manage 4 laps. Absolute, utter rubbish. Not Swindon’s fault but Wolves have turned up with a white flag attached to their handlebars.
  15. Wolves pathetic. They are showing as much enthusiasm as their manager. Swindon blowing Wolves away as they will next week against Ipswich. Only one team interested here.
  16. I Apologise but seems a few have had great joy chucking insults in the last 24 hours.
  17. No I use something called the internet which has sites which show where the rain is in real time. http://www.raintoday.co.uk
  18. Why, do I have to be? The radar has just been updated and Blunsdon has just dodged a bullet with a heavy shower from the north of Swindon to Gloucester. There are many heavy rain showers over South Wales. Hopefully they won’t make their way along the M4 corridor and we can watch some decent racing after the horrors of last night.
  19. Rain is close. Looks like the track could be wet again but earlier than last night allowing time to fix it.
  20. Just got in to read this thread and have a good chuckle. To be clear. I am not a fan of second division speedway. The top flight is bad enough and has tested my resolve this season. I am not interested in handing over money to watch lower league racing. I won’t be the only one who has this opinion. Crowds have dropped in recent seasons as the top flight has watered down. Less top riders equals smaller crowd. Fact. I don’t believe Poole will drop down. Hopefully the any tv deal will be decent enough for clubs to remain secure financially. But rather no deal and no tv than BT getting a free ride to the detriment of the sport. If fans want to watch league racing they need to come along and watch it live. Alternatively a tenner a meeting to watch the stream. But only for fans living outside a 30 mile radius. The sport would do far better with no deal, unless the money offered was close to what Sky were paying.
  21. I am more of a Poole fan than you will ever be. Following speedway updates doesn’t constitute being a Poole fan. Where were you at Poole this year? I was at every meeting except when I was on holiday. Didn’t see you at Ipswich either. I am not a fan of lower league racing. The premier league is bad enough as it is. I don’t want to pay to watch wobblers in the PL. I prefer watching the best riders. But at least I watch the riders live rather than sit on updates.
