Well for the first time in 30 odd years Speedway is taking place at Poole and I won’t be there. Only meetings I miss is through being on holiday but tonight I just can’t be bothered to attend. This season ended at Ipswich and will be looking forward to next season, in whatever form it takes.

I am a far too busy to waste time and effort in a sport. No proper money in it. Why waste time and effort in a sport where what you do is scrutinised by idiotic people who would never dream of putting their hands in their own pockets. Matt runs his business to be self sufficient. Cloth is cut accordingly. Possibly the worse thing to happen to the sport is Sky TV. The money allowed for the best riders but as soon as Sky left the crowds vacated as team strengths plummeted. In the long term it did the sport no favours at all. BT costs clubs big time as they pay nothing and empty the terraces when in town. Best bet is streaming where the clubs benefit directly. Tenner a meeting, geo blocking local areas. Money there to be made.

Though Swindon was the next week. Poole should move to Sunday afternoon then!

This should be moved to Thursday.

Wednesday clashes with Poole v Kings Lynn. A far more important fixture. Seriously what was likely to be a pretty dire crowd will now be down to probably the worst ever crowd in Poole’s history. Better to change to Thursday now. For the Poole meeting

Well the rain is going through very early so fingers crossed there’s enough time to fix the track. Yesterday it looked like a no hoper but Bob Hope has got a cab back to the arena! Track might well be very heavy. Batchelor will enjoy the conditions.

Result was never going to be in doubt. Ostrow number one about a Gorzow second string.

This meeting looks like it’s got two hopes of being on tomorrow. No hope and Bob Hope. And Bob has left the arena.

We agree on something! Madsen is clearly the best rider in the world at this time but injury cost him this year.

One thing for sure. The old guard has finally been completely blown away.

Put your money on Madsen for next year. Reckon he will romp it. Won it in faultless style tonight.

What a genuine guy Madsen is. One of the first out to congratulate Zmarzlik. Proper sportsman who gets unfair flack.

I believe it’s been overwatered tonight with the guys who come out the heat after watering at a disadvantage.

Been a very good GP and gone further than expected before Zmarzlik has got there. I like Tatum and Pearce. No issues with them at all. Both enthusiastic and it comes across in their commentary.
