  1. Rain is close. Looks like the track could be wet again but earlier than last night allowing time to fix it.
  2. Just got in to read this thread and have a good chuckle. To be clear. I am not a fan of second division speedway. The top flight is bad enough and has tested my resolve this season. I am not interested in handing over money to watch lower league racing. I won’t be the only one who has this opinion. Crowds have dropped in recent seasons as the top flight has watered down. Less top riders equals smaller crowd. Fact. I don’t believe Poole will drop down. Hopefully the any tv deal will be decent enough for clubs to remain secure financially. But rather no deal and no tv than BT getting a free ride to the detriment of the sport. If fans want to watch league racing they need to come along and watch it live. Alternatively a tenner a meeting to watch the stream. But only for fans living outside a 30 mile radius. The sport would do far better with no deal, unless the money offered was close to what Sky were paying.
  3. I am more of a Poole fan than you will ever be. Following speedway updates doesn’t constitute being a Poole fan. Where were you at Poole this year? I was at every meeting except when I was on holiday. Didn’t see you at Ipswich either. I am not a fan of lower league racing. The premier league is bad enough as it is. I don’t want to pay to watch wobblers in the PL. I prefer watching the best riders. But at least I watch the riders live rather than sit on updates.
  4. If Poole went PL I would do the all GP’s again plus some Polish Extra league instead. I am not interested in the PL.
  5. He isn’t going to get a ride there so needs to be in the third tier to start.
  6. They got lucky with the conditions. Poole would have had 60+ had it not rained and played into the away sides hands. Ipswich are zero threat to Swindon in the final. Two easy wins, just like tonight was for them.
  7. Well what a load of rubbish that was. I was a complete neutral here, and didn’t care who won. But it was dire. Yes the rain caused mayhem and made the trickiest track even trickier than usual. But Wolves had the drive and enthusiasm of their manager Peter Adams, who’s passion was clearly absent. Clearly he has had his day. Well done Swindon. All very easy. Wolves had no fight whatsoever, other than young Becker and Schlein.
  8. If I had won by 10-14 points away in the first leg I would 110% be celebrating making the final. It would take the chokiest chokes of chokesdon Hill for there to be an upset. Considering Swindon haven’t been beaten at home this season and have a huge lead, I think it’s safe to say the title is in the bag this season. Ipswich are no threat whatsoever.
  9. 5 falls on the same bend. When will they learn? Becker has fallen twice there!
  10. Terrible call. Ref is having a shocker, as is Adams who seems resigned to defeat. Why not on the phone to the ref? If I am honest he looks like he has had his day but Wolves fans will be up in arms over that.
  11. But he isn’t the rider he was. Injuries have taken their toll on him. Game over for Wolves. Track conditions, just like Poole at Wimborne Road, took away any home advantage, and they needed all the help they could muster tonight. All very easy for Swindon and it’s already “in the bag” which makes it exceedingly dull for the neutral.
  12. As I said after heat 4, Swindon will win both legs and smash Ipswich in the final.
  13. You think Ipswich will be any opposition? It’s going to be a one sided final like when Poole took on Birmingham a few seasons back.
