  1. Just got back after being detoured through the bloody new forest as the A31 was shut. Credit to Swindon for a very good strong performance tonight and we couldn’t live with them. But really we should at least got close to a point had our number one showed up and Brady hadn’t gone into the tapes. Two points from Holder is not good enough. In heat one of all his meetings it’s either 1 or 0. If I get time I shall go back and check but he gets beaten by riders he should be beating in heat one every week. Decent sized crowd but expected it to be bigger than that. This will probably be the final as well so we need to sharpen up. Too often we we left standing at the tapes but the ref did allow some huge rollers, one from Ellis and heat two from Perks the obvious ones. But no complaints. Beaten by the better team who now have the label of clear favourites going into the playoffs. For a change we don’t have that pressure on us or the expectation. As for the track, far superior to the old race circuit. Plenty of passing tonight.
  2. A couple of seasons ago he sat in front of us lot in the grandstand at Poole. Rather than introduce himself he got all huffy, then stormed out after heat 13 with his tail between his legs after Swindon were thumped. Hilarious stuff.
  3. So far down? If he came back only Doyle would be above him. He still scored well for Toruń this year and though past his best would still be a top man here.
  4. Most thoroughly enjoyed last nights meeting. You are in the minority.
  5. I think we will be fine. If we get a point it will be ok. A win at Ipswich next Thursday has to be the target though Ipswich won’t be as poor as last week. We don’t have the fire power in 13 and 15 so an 8 point gain is almost guaranteed. No silly falls or dropped points at reserve and it could be close. I am hoping for a classic. ‘By the way is Gavan banned yet again? Thought he would have been on saying how well Swindon did last night and they are clear favourites for the league blah de blah....
  6. It’s actually 70 miles from my house. But faster to go Winchester, A34, M4. 97 miles but 8 mins faster.
  7. Should win at Ipswich. Wolves are good at home and might get a point but will be hard. Should beat Ipswich at home.
  8. Newman had three rides. He had to come out in heat 14. He was swapped out in heat 8.
  9. No way Lynn will make top 4. Their away form is pretty rubbish.
  10. Should be the Battle of Blunsdon on Thursday night as the Pirates head the 68 miles up the road. So far this season Poole have come away with 2 draws. We have riders that go well there and there’s no reason why this one won’t be close. Certainly Doyle will be virtually unbeatable and Batchelor is showing some of the best form of his career. While we don’t have that type of firepower we do have good scoring reserves. Lets hope the weather is OK and there’s a big crowd for this one.
  11. Bewley needs to get away from BV for a season and build his confidence. Not progressed at all this year. I know he had a bad smack but seems to be staying still.
  12. It’s easily good enough. This is dirt track racing not road racing.
  13. Yes we are enjoying it thanks. A good race circuit again now it’s fixed.
  14. What you eating? Sour grapes? Beaten easily regardless of final score line.
  15. A good meeting tonight, perhaps not as good as the one two weeks ago but still entertaining. Track was nicely watered with no dust, meaning some good flat out racing. The track improvements really helping the riders go for it. After Swindon’s performance last week at Ipswich I expected them to turn up and rip us a new one but after a tense opening two 5-1s on the bounce more or less settled where the win was going to go. I would have used Josh in heat 15 but Middlo thought otherwise. Klindt chose tonight to have his worst meeting of the season. For Swindon I thought Doyle and Batchelor excellent but the rest were hit and miss. No reserves is Swindons bane. And no T/Rs allowed in the playoffs. We don’t have the top end firepower of Swindon but we do have 6 riders giving their all. Now well clear at the top. Top 4 still wide open with Wolves win at Belle Vue. Very pleased after that. Return on Thursday should be another cracker.
  16. If the track is the same as it has been since the work was done it should be a good meeting.
  17. The racing could be great tonight but I would put money on certain posters slagging the track off.
  18. I haven’t played the underdog card or said we are going to lose. I said if we get beat it will be because Swindon have a better top 5 who are currently on form. Nothing wrong with that.
  19. No surprise at all using Kyle. Obvious choice given rider availability. Perhaps he is not riding as well as he was 3 years ago but still knows the track well enough. The Swindon team have certainly clicked recently and all are showing good form. Same can’t be said for us but if we are turned over then fair enough. But we are at home and hopefully Josh’s bike issues will have been sorted as we can’t carry anyone. Same goes for Klindt who has been suffering in his last two meetings.
  20. Well done to Lindgren. Well done to Madsen in pulling out a 6 point lead while quite badly injured.
