  1. Well there might have been gypsies in the car park or bulldozers so better to report nothing going on than something more sinister.
  2. Ok I turned left to the stadium. Dear oh dear knitpicking. There was a white van parked in the stadium and wooden giraffes at the country store/garden centre at the roundabout opposite tgi Fridays . The underpass is now open at the pain in the butt roundabout when heading towards Warwick. Proof enough? Lol!
  3. Just got back. From Brandon. I had some business today in Grantham and came back via Leicester, Coventry, M40, A34, and found myself at the tgi Friday roundabout at the bottom of Binley Woods. So I turned right and went a mile up the road to have a look for myself. The place is completely closed up. No one home. Barriers to car park locked up so couldn't see anything. Thought I would pass on this completely useless piece of information.
  4. Starman I really don't understand your problem with Belle Vue's NSS. It far superior in every aspect to every other track and stadium in the country. You come across as bitter about it. Not sure why. The track is the best by the proverbial mile with brilliant racing most of the time. The main stand is top notch. You can park right outside with no issues. If you could be bothered to visit you would be very impressed unless you went there with the sole intention of looking for faults. I went to the SWC and enjoyed in thoroughly. I went to the Poole A Fixture and although we lost the racing was pretty spectacular. We are lucky at Poole in that the racing is mostly very good, but the BV track is bigger and faster with loads of passing. Stop trying to slag the place off. You haven't been there to experience the racing.
  5. Terrible news but not unexpected. Considering Brandon Estates hide themselves away in Jersey with no named spokesperson leaves one to the conclusion that Sandhu and Brandon estates are one and the same. The argument and disagreement could well be a concocted smokescreen just so speedway is brought to an end and the place demolished for houses. By causing so much vandalism Sandhu has made sure its game over. This latest news of 'moving on' backs up the story. Have to feel sorry for the Coventry fans who deserve better than this.
  6. Yep but the good thing is I don't have to read the trolls posts except when he is quoted. The troll doesn't know how to debate, just post poison anti Poole venom at every given opportunity. Don't know how you can be bothered to read the same old same old same old, day after day after day. Incidentally I get on very well with Neil Watson and have known him for years. Good honest bloke.
  7. Sounds to me Hemsleys still in charge with a stooge promoter like last year. No change at mill.... Says he's standing aside (has to) and the guy running it is the same bloke as last season. Reasons to be cheerful? Well they are running I guess is one, er..... not sure after that. As jchapman says, a big missed opportunity. The club desperately needed a big new broom to sweep out all the filth and clutter at this club. Instead they got the same dirty old mop.
  8. So really no change at Leicester. A co promoter becoming sole promoter. A shame its almost, 'as you were'.
  9. Hi Neil, ok thanks for that. Hope you are well. What problems are at Poole? Sorry please explain seem to have missed this news.
  10. Because there really should be contact between promotion and fans. To leave them completely in limbo is not good enough. Perhaps thats why you have to harp back to ancient history of so many years ago.
  11. Then why hasn't this been reported by Horton? As promoter surely its his job to keep Coventry fans in the loop.
  12. The Bradford Bulls have said the liquidator would not accept the offer on the table. But they are going to form a new company and run next season in the championship with a 12 point deduction. From 5 live.
  13. So day three of Hortons tenure. Whats been announced?
  14. What Poole fans post negative thoughts and gloat at clubs in trouble? I am on here most days and haven't seen it. You can't write that on here. Stevebrum will be outraged. However, Horton is now in charge and has the keys so why no statement? Day two of his tenure and counting......
  15. End of the day fake outrage from Stevebrum to score some browny points, or is it brown nose points? My post was completely honest and upfront, responding directly to a post by a Coventry supporter. Rather than jump on my post and state the bleeding obvious that Coventry have problems, there would have been no harm in actually debating the issue of social media in building up a support base. Many sports use this method, including Poole who seem to be pretty good at it. But rather than discuss this area of the sport which could be improved on, Steve Brum faked some outrage to try and look like he was defending Coventry by throwing crap at an honest post of mine. Made himself look very silly. Glad some others can see through his crap and stated there was nothing wrong with my post. Just see that Gavan the Poole hater has jumped in with his usual spew. Quite hilarious. What the hell are you "outraged" about? Me responding to a Coventry post about social media? Ridiculous!
  16. Actually it wasn't. It was a direct cut and paste from the Poole website. And I agree the Poole website is functional but dull. Years old and needs a big revamp to bring it into 2017. I personally rarely go there unless there's a big announcement.
  17. Who says Poole are still looking for a sponsor? A deal could already have been struck for all you know, and as usual Matt Ford is waiting for the right moment to announce it in the press for maximun exposure. If the pattern follows then it will be a large deal on 6 figures a season and won't be Dave's Pet Foods or Heather's Poodle Parlour. Oh but wait. More Poole chat on the Coventry forum! Shock! Horror! Probe! Steve Brum Should I have waited several weeks before answering to not upset Coventry fans? Lol!
  18. How can it be poorly timed when its replying to a Coventry supporters post? What you expect me to do? Not reply to it for a few weeks so that the post is not relevant anymore? You couldn't make it up.
  19. So Stevebrum and the self righteous see themselves as some defender of the "right", while none Coventry fans are now not allowed to post on a Coventry thread unless its to wallow in self pity. I have every right to post on this thread as others have to post on the Poole thread. My posts were not gloating, just responding on topic to to a post from a Coventry fan about social media. If others don't like debate and the topic of conversation then don't reply. Its simple. To say my post was wrong about having a successful website and online presence is frankly laughable when using the argument that Coventry might not run. My point is relevant regardless of club, sport or business. I am fully aware of this having owned websites in the past with over 250,000 unique visitors. A day. But in speedway terms not a bad score. Rarely go there myself.
  20. Why should I apologise for the crap way their club has been managed over recent years? Seems to be a Coventry thing. Their football team is just as badly run. May as well shut down this thread if no one is allowed to post unless its to placate Coventry fans. We all hope everything is sorted out so they can run, that's obvious. But to be moaned at whilst I am posting on topic is laughable.
  21. Lol! This started because a Coventry fan was moaning about the lack of an online Bees presence, and I responded to the post by stating what Matt Ford had posted just the day before on the poole website. It was a direct response to the post and bang on topic, yet its jumped on because its a success story and that can't be allowed on a Coventry thread. The point being that if the Poole website can have 100,000 hits week, so could Coventrys with some serious work. But success has to be frowned upon, right?
  22. Fundementally the whole shambles was the Belle Vue promotions fault. Did they know there was a serious problem with the track before the opening meeting? Yes. Did they open the gates on the opening meeting in the knowledge that there was a chance the riders might refuse to ride? Yes. The whole debacle was the Belle Vue managements fault. Not the fact there was an issue with the track but the fact that they decided to run a meeting knowing of this issue. Thousands of people wasted hundreds of pounds attending a meeting that should have been postponed. Totally the Belle Vue promotions fault.
  23. Chapman stated the bleedin obvious and what 99% of the rest of us thought. The blame, 100% of it, was down to the Belle Vue promotion. The whole shocking day was their fault. I recall making a post a couple of weeks before the opening event, where I said that I hope track testing is being carried out before the meeting, as the last thing we need is the track to be unrideable. The response was that the first time the track is going to be used is heat one. I was shocked and said so on here. The whole sorry mess could have been completely avoided but the BV promotion dived head first into oblivion. Their lack of experience came crashing down around their heads like a stack of cards. They just didn't have the finances to promote Belle Vue in their new home and I guess they knew this very early on with crowd numbers nowhere near the required level to sustain the sport in the new stadium.
  24. I don't think so. Think Matt would rather leave it blank than undersell it. But pretty sure we will have a team sponsor in place before season starts. Anyway as this is a Coventry thread when are we going to hear some news from Horton?
