  1. Not really a good enough stadium for a GP imo.
  2. Think the final will be Doyle, Hancock, Holder and Zmarzlik.
  3. He will struggle to get a ride. Pretty sure he has been looked at by Polish clubs but the youngsters over there are like rocket ships out of the start and he would be left for dead over the first 20 metres then left chasing shadows.
  4. The playoffs have been the best thing to happen to speedway in many years. Whilst Bv, Poole and Wolves might have kept their crowds up , Swindon and Lakeside would have been also rans and crowds would have dropped at these venues. A team at the top always has big crowds, as Poole have. It runs completely against the trend for BV to get tiny crowds when top of the league. Something is going on here which is seriously wrong. A new stadium, a top of the table team and no crowd. Ridiculous. Put that stadium in Poole and that grandstand would be heaving every week. We would love Wimborne Road be developed into something like BV but the fans still turn up here in our dilapidated stadium. I hope BV get a new promotion this winter. They can't do a worse job that the current people in charge.
  5. Seems to me that most people DID enjoy last nights meeting. Loads of passing and good racing on a well prepared racetrack. Do you remember a few years ago when Kings Lynn had a decent track that used to have passing? Perhaps Buster can have a word with our track man and get a few tips on how to prepare a track where riders can overtake.
  6. Nothing to do with complacency. More to do with riders making a statement.
  7. I don't think that has got anything to do with it. 2.5 million people live in the area. 30,000 got to old trafford, 40,000 got to Etihad. (the other 40,000 that make up old trafford are out of towners) So lets say 110,000 out of 2.5 million. Not many is it. You have the rugby and small football clubs but not everyone likes football. There's a massive opportunity to get just 6000 inside Belle Vue. But when was the last time Belle Vue actually had a promoter who promoted? If they thought the crowd was going to be small why didn't they run a discount promotion? 500 @ £17 is £8500. Not enough to cover anything. 1500 @ £10 is 15000. Plus the Sky money. Posters out stating a discount and to bring a friend etc.
  8. The junior section is further down the main page. Suggest you head over there.
  9. Because, believe it or not, the 8 day rule does not apply to the home team.
  10. Just block the troll. Makes the forum far more pleasureable.
  11. Just watched last nights meeting back on Youtube and have to say it was very entertaining regardless of the score. How can anyone say it was a snooze fest is beyond me. Loads of great racing all evening. Mind you we are spoilt at Poole with a very good racetrack that allows passing off every bend. Have to say I agree about Lambert. He was abysmal last night. Gifted two of his points last night with an ef of Tungate and no Holder in 15. Last night should have been a meeting he would have thrived in. A proper race track with loads of racing lines but he was awol. A young lad should be up for it every meeting. Following him this year Ellis is catching fast. A far better gater, has track craft and is also a youngster. Just needs to learn how to adjust his gear when the track slickens off.
  12. Was superb at Wolves and funnily enough superb at Belle Vue. I for one am more than happy with his contribution. Not everyone is going to be a world champion but Kyle always gives 100% to the cause. Cant understand fans slagging him off.
  13. The league favourites Belle Vue have got the perfect guest in Hougaard who boosts their team strength somewhat. Hougaard is certainly better than Fricke around BV as anyone with an ounce of speedway knowledge can see. Just waiting for Palm Toft to come in now to replace Richie Worrall. It really does seem this Gavan chap is determined to make a pillock of himself on every single Poole theead. Admire his determination to do it though.
  14. The promotion here just don't seem to have a clue how to promote. Mondays meeting is massive. The place should be packed. Are there flyers plastered all over the city? Radio ads? Newspaper interviews leading up to the meeting? If not why not? Get out there and promote the bloody place otherwise Belle Vue will be knocking on next door asking if they can come back!
  15. Stefan Neilsen breaks a finger nail and Palm-Toft guests.
  16. Thought they were big hints in the program notes otherwise Matt wouldn't have said a thing. Dudek for Hans and Milik for Buk would do.
  17. Doesn't count as Poole use him first then his home club. Would be different the other way around I guess.
  18. Swindon need to be completely fired up and try to win at Belle Vue. They have done it once, time to do it again. Rosco needs to make sure his boys have their best gear over.
  19. Poole return to EL favourites Belle Vue a couple of weeks after their first visit, this time with a bit more knowledge having finally ridden the track. Tungate guests for Poole as he does the following night at Kings Lynn and I hope he rides better than he did tonight for us at Wimborne Road. Matt Ford has said there is an opportunity to bring in a new rider before the playoffs so we will just have to wait and see on that front. Poole's second strings seem to be riding well now. They have been misfiring all season but Brady and Adam have scored well. Holder is flying. We just need two more heat leaders. Perhaps Matt will book King as a guest for Hans. Belle Vue should be full strength unless something happens between now and Monday.
  20. Entertaining meeting regardless of the scoreline. Well done to a PL journeyman who showed up the whole of the Kings Lynn team. Paid 14 out of 29. The Kings Lynn riders should hang their heads in shame. Palm Toft did this at Belle Vue and he did it again tonight. Some excellent races and some gate and go ones but as always at Poole the racing is good. If neutrals didn't enjoy the racing they should find another sport. Of course you will always get the anti Poole brigade on here praying for a snoozefest but they are looking for a dull meeting. Sorry they were let down. Some interesting talking points. Batchelors demise as a decent heat leader. A shame but something has gone seriously wrong with his career. Lambert. A long way to go before he can be classed as a big talent. Gifted a win through an ef and gifted second in heat 15 when Holder was rested. Expected more from him. No excuses as Palm Toft found passing easy enough. Harris shouldn't have taken the booking full stop. Not helping anyone taking a booking when injured. Silly, and it robs the paying public. The rest are not worthy of mention to be honest. As for The Pirates it's hard to tell what our form is like with opposition which would rather be elsewhere. Interesting program notes from Matt Ford stating there is a window of opportunity the week before the playoffs to make team changes. Watch this space. Rumours were going around Wimborne Road that Belle Vue are in financial trouble. Hope its not true after finally moving into a new stadium. Next up Belle Vue V Poole. Should be a cracker. Hope there's a big crowd.
  21. Well done Eddie Kennett. Never lets us down. This is better than the average meeting served up by Sky. The scoreline doesn't reflect the racing. Well done to Palm Toft anothrr good meeting around Wimborne Road. Just been announced Darcy Ward has passed his driving test. Congrats DW. Batchelor has completely lost his racing ability. Rather than just slag him off the guy clearly has issues with his racing and has lost it ala Davey Watt. He has been a very good ridr but to see him like this is not right. Hope he gets his mojo back in the future. In tonights program Matt has stated there is a window for changes a week before the playoffs.
