Kings Lynn V Poole Ela. 11/8/16

Alternatively, employ good mechanics who do have the experience to make the correct changes during a meeting. If Lambert had the ability to get out the starts quickly he would be up there challenging the very top boys. Has he been picked up by a Polish club yet? -

Well as I said earlier Kings Lynn is the furthest EL track from Poole and it feels it! The trip to Manchester is quicker. Having said that I left Kings Lynn at 9.50 pm and walked in the door at 1.20 am so 3.30 mins wasn't too bad. Roads were clear all the way. I thought the crowd last night was pretty good, considering many on here were saying they were not going. They were very quiet though as they had nothing to cheer. The 8-1 was met with a little cheer but that was it. Not suprising I suppose as Poole were completely dominant. Middlo got caught in traffic and only got there a minute before heat one. The body language between the sides was obvious. Poole looked like defending champions as they chased every point. Very little in the way of passing though. For Poole. Holder rode well for little reward. Discovered the inside line wasn't the fastest way around. Ellis just goes from strength to strength. I would stake my house on him being a top British rider for years to come. Improving all the time. His battle with Lambert was brilliant and there was no way he was going to lose that. Made a cockup of bend three in one heat when on a 5-1 to allow Rose through. Nearly got him back. Buckowski started slowly but was flying in his last two rides. Kurtz rode well in his first but like Holder found the inside was the place not to be. Andersen had one of his best meetings this year. Chose the inside in his first and found both Lynn riders going around him. But it was called back when Buckowski was clipped and fell. In the rerun drove out into mid track to block both Lynn riders passing around him. Had a great battle with Lambert in heat 15. Bjarne probably scored his easiest 12 point max for ages. Got the nominanted but missed it. But he had done his job by then. Newman solid as usual. For Kings Lynn. Batchelor was good announced as rider of the night. They don't do away riders here. Schlein was better at Poole than last night. Poor for a heat leader. Basically outgunned. Poor Morley was canon fodder. Hope he was paid a wage was never going to score. For Lambert read Harris. He is so similar it is frightening. A crap gater and a racer, just like a young Harris. Exciting to watch, but if he doesn't improve his starts he will end up having a similar career. In comparison Ellis is a better gater. Be interesting to see who has the better career in the sport. With all the fuss about Lambert young Ellis's rise has somewhat passed under the radar. Don't think there's much between them to be honest. Lambert and Ellis are certainly the future for team GB. Jakobsen was poor. Scored a couple at the end when the result was known. Rose battled all night and was decent value. So Poole close the gap on Belle Vue to just 5 points. Leicester away up next, next Saturday. 4 points again a must. A much tougher challenge than last night but if the team rides just as hard it can be done. -

Poole have three meetings on Belle Vue. They are 5 points behind. Belle Vue have to visit Poole once. Poole are yet to visit Belle Vue this season. Poole have one visit to Monmore, one to Leicester, one to Swindon, and one to Kings Lynn. We have to target wins at Leicester next Saturday, Swindon on the following Monday, and Belle Vue on the 29th. If we win those and beat Belle Vue at home we can finish top. Not easy but possible. -

Against all the odds poole pick up 4 points against a tough Kings Lynn outfit. Seriously, only five points behind favourites Belle Vue with three meetings in hand. Next stop away to Leicester. -

Yesterday I was in Cheltenham then went on to Watlington, near Oxford, before heading back down the A34 to Poole for last nights meeting. I was very unfortunate to witness the pile up on the north bound side of the A34 in which three children aged 11,11 and 13, along with a 45 year old woman were killed instantly. I passed the scene about two minutes after the crash and I can say it has disturbed me quite badly. Only today I heard that theee of the victims were kids my daughters age. As a grown man I can say I shed more than a couple of tears after hearing this. God bless their young souls. -
Poole Reaction To Tai

Starry is not posting on here at the moment. Anyway from what I can see Poole gave made no comment whatsoever about the signing of Woffinden. But why should they? It is a legal signing under the current rules so I cant see why it wont be ratified, even though I personally think he should be assessed to eight. -

Coventry fans were saying exactly the same. Many stayed away. Coventry won it on the last bend. The sport is many things but predictable it is not. Think it will be quite close. -

Well i have got here. Sitting in pizza hut having an early dinner before trundling over the the stadium. Roads are dry and its a bit breezy not no risk of a rain off. Hope we can get a win for a change but take nothing for granted. The boys need to be right up for it to get a result. One glance at Lakeside v Poole shows what can happen with a little complacency. -

A 4 point win tonight will bring us to within 5 points of Belle Vue with three meetings in hand. -
Just before the playoffs? And Bjarne is hardly Woffinden. You will have to do better than that. Anyway said what I think. Off to watch some speedway.
-
Holder was in his prime when the Coventry airfence failed to do its job. Are you Gavan in disguise? Haven't you read earlier posts? Hancock replaced a badly injured Holder. I did say it was my opinion. Sure it is inside the rules. But it still stinks the place out. He said he didn't want to ride here, but then comes into the Wolves team and the move basically decides the outcome of 2016. As he hasn't ridden here for 2 years he should be re assessed to an 8, which all GP riders come in on. His old average should be junked.
-
Of course riders with genuine injuries should be able to be replaced during the playoffs. Cost Poole a title when Darcy got beaten up. Agree a deadline of July would be good to stop this happening. Woffinden can't be arsed to do a full season, only coming in when it suits his diary, but his presence of coming in at the death will have a saying on the whole season. Great for Wolverhampton, but it turns the whole EL season into a cess pit.
-
One thing is for sure. If Wolverhampton make the final against Belle Vue I shall be cheering on the Manchester mob. They have stuck with their 1-7 and said no to Woffindens advances.
-
And what reliable source is that then? A mate down the pub? I would have thought the Belle Vue promotion are far from happy with this as well.

Perhaps you need to get in a decent promoter rather than one who is happy with an "also ran" team. -
Hancock came in to replace Chris Holder who was smashed up at Coventry. He didn't come in to replace a lesser rider.
-
For the very badly injured Chris Holder.

True fans support their team. I have been to every Poole meeting this year bar Lakeside which I hugely regretted missing. A win tonight is far from guarenteed. Poole haven't travelled very well this year. You Lynn fans need to get behind your team. Worse than bleating Coventry fans. -
Well this signed turns Wolves into playoff semi finialists to clear favourites over Belle Vue who must be gutted after all the hard work they have done in 2016. To Stick with the same one to seven all season, only to see another club bring a ringer in at the death to take the title away must irk. Pooles chances of reaching the final now have reduced dramically. It's in the rules but is hardly within the spirit of the sport. Personally bringing in ringers for the playoffs like this should be against the rules. Just my opinion.
