But what if Poland suddenly had 10 of the best 15 riders in the world? Wouldn't make great viewing figures outside of Poland for BSI!! There has to be a nationality selection process, with a couple fo extra places available for riders of ability to slot in as well, which is non dependant on nationality.

Well the streaming lasted for me all the way through. hardly worth watching though. Track ultra slick and suited the guys with big fast engines. Plus of course it was Walaseks home track! For 2009: Bjerre Walasek Ulamek N Pedersen Crump Adams Gollob Nicholls Holder Andersen Hancock Jonsson Lindgren Pavlic Saifudinov wild card Time will tell of course.
-
Have to agree. Both Ulamek and Bjerre not likely to do a thing. Walasek only slightly better in that he is good on the large tracks. To be honest all three are poor qualifiers though. best news is Sullivan blew it though. At least it means Noddy is likely to be offered one of the wild cards, which has to be good for the series.
-
Well Sullivan is 3 wins from 3 and almost there. bad news but from a selfish point of view at least noddy can concentrate on Poole in 2009!
-
Looking at the time its likely to die on me shortly too. Normally at 6.10 it starts to sieze up then starts buffering before nada.

http://www.itvp.pl/player.html?mode=2&...;video_id=20416 Agree Frigbo Pavlic is being made to look like a youngster. Good move by Iversen in one heat and walasek in the last. Looking like a race out between: Sullivan Walasek Bjerre Ulamek Iversen

Bad news for Holder and the GP series is that Sullivan has won his first 2.

NOt being shown at the moment

Can anyone actually watch the whole polish meetings all the way through? They always start OK and then after 30 minutes freeze up and eventually i have to give up as the fail completely. I am with BT business broadband, and between 6 and 11pm the amount of bandwidth I get is reduced. ( BT say it's due to the amount of broadband users. personally i thin BT have a automated switch which limits the amount of broadband received. It's not a gradual process and clearlt defined by time) The result is I can't watch the streaming. Do others have a similar problem or just BT users? I have 2Mb connection ( The fastest possible for me here in the sticks)

Worst thing that could possibly happen for BSI is for Sullivan to quaify. A rider well past his sell by date who is getting by on his gating in league meetings. It will also end any chance Holder will have of getting a wild card place. Holder or Sullivan? I know who the majority of fans and BSI would want in to liven up the series. Hopefully Pavlic, Bjerre and Zagar will get in.

Chris Holder For Gp
Steve Shovlar replied to kaybtee's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Whilst Holder may have a similar average to the three above, I think its very obvious he has the potential to go a lot further in the sport than any of the above, who are now riding at their best ( injuries beside) Holder is far from the finished article and is destined for the top of the sport. easy to see as it was with both Crump and Adams in the early stages of their careers. I doubt Holder would struggle as you make out like KK or Bjarne or Iversen. In fact I woould feel sure he would qualify top 8 for the following year without too much trouble at all. -

Bydgoszcz Grand Prix

What a disappointing final with grinning mug Hancock stealing it. Never mind. Pedersen sews it up in two weeks time and Gollob entertained all the way. -
A poor lineup and nothing there that inspires. Whoever goes through will do nothing in 2009 to liven up the GP series. I hope and pray old hands don't make it though.

It must be for replays after the meeting. My broadband won't allow streaming of the meetngs. It keeps stoping and freezing, so I go back and watch it after 11pm when speeds are good. However tonight it won't let me watch. Looks like they are being sucked dry on their broadband and have closed it down to Poland only, which is a shame for all Poles in the UK who are speedway fans!
-
Looks like ITV.PL have banned people from watching the streaming speedway from outside of Poland. You get sound but no picture. "Dostęp do tego materiału nie jest możliwy z terytorium kraju z którego się z nami łączysz." Which basically means , "you are not in Poland so clear off". Oh well if anyone knows a workaround let us know. We have to fool their server into thinking our internet connection is in Poland.

Chris Holder For Gp
Steve Shovlar replied to kaybtee's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Todays echo. Holder: World can wait By Phil Chard CHRIS Holder believes he won't be ready for the Grand Prix until 2010 at the earliest. Pirates' chiefs Neil Middleditch and Matt Ford have been publicly promoting the young gun's cause to be awarded World Championship status next year. But the modest Aussie has played down talk he should be given one of four seeded places for 2009. Holder, however, admitted he'd love the chance to pit his wits against the best as a one-off wild card. It's just the 20-year-old Poole Castle Cover rider, who Ford tipped as a future world champion two years ago, genuinely doesn't believe he's ready for regularly GP racing. Holder, who has boosted his chances of receiving a wild card this year by producing a storming debut Elite League campaign, said: "It's alright to beat a GP guy now and then, but they go up to a different level in the GPs. "It's not easy racing regularly at that level, and I'm not interested if I do or not at the moment." As flattered as he is by Middlo's and Ford's comments that he is ready for World Championship action, Holder added: "You need to spend a lot more time and money to be competitive in the GP and I don't think I'll be that competitive yet. "I might win a couple of races but I don't think I can spend all that money. It's probably better to wait a couple of years and hopefully get in it then. "If they wanted to give me a wild card I would take it. I'd snap their hand off. But to do the whole GP would be very hard because I still don't have a set up to do that." Holder, who showed Swindon's Leigh Adams his back wheel at Poole on Wednesday, is flattered by Middlo's and Ford's comments that he is ready for GP competition. But he's determined not to get carried away, although his long-term aim is bound to become individual world champion. With that in mind, Holder confirmed he would defend his Australian title over three rounds this winter. He said: "I'm definitely going back to race in the series because you have to finish in the top three to get into the GP qualifiers." Holder, who won all five Aussie rounds last winter, said: "I don't think many people realise how hard the Aussie title can be. "There are a lot of home track specialists who are so good around their tracks. "Freddie Lindgren didn't make the rostrum once in the five rounds last winter. Just because people don't know some of the riders' names, it's not easy. "It's not as hard as some championships but it's still tough." -

With all due respect to Woffinden he is obviously not yet ready. He needs to move up and do a year in the EL. If he manages to average around 9 then he is worth putting in the gPs. Holder on the other hand is a bit of a one off. He has adapted to the EL like a fish to water, is going around equalling track records and would be a serious threat in the GP series. Far too early for him to win it but he wouldn't be a straggler either. His current ability could even se him make some semis. Nationality shouldn't play a part but it does, due to the TV audience. With Australia not taking the GPs live, I doubt he would stroll into a berth, but BSI are not blind and do want the best riders in the world taking part in their show. Holder is more than capable of kisking the butts of the bottom half of the field. It would be a travesty if he isn't one of he permament wild cards in 2009. -
Its the Poole effect. Same as Zorro is tonight crowned Swedish Champion!!! Well done to both!!

Bjarne Is Out Of Tonight Danish Championship!
Steve Shovlar replied to Zetters's topic in International World of Speedway
Glad to see Bjarne resting and putting his club first. -
Game over. Pedersen has this in the bag as I predicted in the winter. he is a class above the opposition. Pretty crap GP overall IMO with a couple of decent races near the end.
