  1. What weather forecast are you looking at? Giving dry in Poole from midweek onwards. If Wednesdays proves damp, forecast for Thursday and Friday is dry.
  2. It’s extremely easy to send to my smart tv from an iPhone with screen mirroring. In fact it couldn’t be easier.
  3. But not a realistic one. Clubs signed up to the playoffs. Without a final there will be no champions.
  4. If they don’t refund it would be illegal as no service has been provided. If you had purchased a ticket and the event had gone ahead, then you might be struggling. If they don’t refund you, and I am sure they will if you contact them, contact your bank and ask for a refund.
  5. Yep agree, we should have the playoffs and final half way through the league season.
  6. It really is no surprise it’s off to be honest. But with Howarth out, and Leicester rightly wanting the second leg, it was likely this could happen. The rain yesterday clearly enough that a whole, dry sunny day couldn’t fix. Feel sorry for the many Poole fans who have kept today clear so they could all go up to support their team. Hopefully they can re-arrange so that they can go next Saturday. So we are back to Wimborne Road on Wednesday where at the moment the forecast is showing it as dry. Fingers crossed it stays the same next Friday and Saturday.
  7. Pretty disgraceful from Glasgow to be honest and they should be heavily fined for failing to participate.
  8. The Leicester promotion are being sensible. What if Poole had won by a big score (not going to happen) in the first leg? Crowd would have been nothing special. By taking the first leg, the Leicester fans know they need a big lead. Big crowd. All to play for. Financial sense. Only downside is the second leg on a weekday for travelling fans.
  9. Pretty obvious it was going to be called off with the forecast for tomorrow. Very unlikely to dodge what is coming our way and if anything the forecast has got worse as the week has gone on. Leicester will get a massive crowd on Saturday with local and travelling support. A 14-16 point win for the lions could easily be enough so it will be a classic meeting not to be missed. This two meetings are going to be far better than the dross served up with BV v Sheffield.
  10. So if it’s rained off Friday, that looks likely, Saturday goes ahead at Leicester. It’s a wise move as three full coaches and at least the same again in cars will boost the attendance no end. Put the second leg back to a mid week date and probably only one coach, meaning a couple of hundred less fans coming up from Dorset. £4,000 in lost revenue.
  11. Closer to the date, more accurate the forecast. Fingers crossed the showers dodge the stadium.
  12. Latest forecast is now worse for Friday with heavy showers and the Der storms for 7pm. Think Saturday should go ahead at Leicester with the following Wednesday at Poole. Makes sense and geb]berates the most in one for both clubs.
  13. Today is not a race night and would affect crowd far worse than going up against the Cherries. Friday obvious choice. Depends whether the showers hit or miss. Sundays forecast identical to Fridays.
  14. True they would be guaranteed a big crowd for the first leg. Hundreds of Poole fans making the very long trip. We will certainly be making some noise!
  15. Friday is forecast heavy showers. Saturday a dry day in Leicester. Hmm. Could Pirates get the second leg after all, or will Leicester cancel Saturday if we are rained off on Friday?
  16. The Poole v Leicester meeting on the 26th should guarantee a very big crowd if Pirates win the Playoff Final.
  17. I think Ben Cook will be our third heat leader.
  18. I always used to chat to Phil when he was around the leagues and found him to be a thoroughly likeable bloke and very approachable. He is what you see on the GP circuit and when he tells a rider they are out for an infringement he does it in a way he is on their side. Losing his wife at such a young age must be devastating but I am sure Phil will stay strong for his daughters and support them through this dreadful time.
  19. Baring any injuries we will be there or thereabouts again. The club is run with our fans expecting success and that will never change. Regardless of what the points limit is, we can almost guarantee that opposition clubs will have to raise their bar to compete with the Pirates. Matt and Danny know the fans won’t accept mediocrity and only once or perhaps twice in Matts tenure did the team completely fail to deliver. The club is not run on good enough. It is run on expecting and demanding 110% and the riders thrive on it. Not meant to sound as blowing our own trumpet but other clubs need to rise to the challenge. And the more that do so, the better the league and meetings.
  20. Terribly sad. Wishing Phil and his girls very best wishes at this terrible time.
