Berwick V Workington (lc) Saturday, May 2
Django replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Comfortable home win I would imagine, I'll go 50-40 with a similar home win on Sunday. But Berwick do have some guys who go well round Derwent Park so it could be different -

Dave also went on to explain why there had to be microphone silence as Rusty was on monitoring equipment, even when Dave explained this he was told quickly to be quiet again as it was interfering in the treatment. Rider welfare is the most important matter -

I think there are two reasons why not many supporters have been on here, firstly it was quite a good win and there isn't much to moan about and secondly the injury to Rusty totally overshadowed the evening. Rusty's crash looked terrible from where we were sat in the grandstand, I really hope he makes a full recovery and can ride again this year, it would be such a sad way for his British career to end. He's a Comets legend and lovely guy and an adopted Marra. As for the meeting I thought there were plenty of positives for us, Kenneth looked better on his new engines and Kyle continues to impress, he is maturing into the rider we hoped he'd be last year, I'm glad I was wrong on that one, well done also to Nathan for beating Sedgman to a paid win. As for Edinburgh I'm glad they got beat as some of the pre meeting comments on here were unnecessary and showed a lack of respect to the lady who saved your beloved Monarchs 2 years ago. Lastly, anyone know why they put a rope out to block riders taking a short cut to the start line? Seemed odd -

Thanks for that, makes for a long tail now unless Longtrack Erik gets dialled in straight away which is entirely possible -

Why is Wolbert missing at Workington tonight? -
With the season now underway and the inevitable and regrettable injuries kicking in, what changes would people make to their predictions? I think the top 4 will be Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ipswich and Somerset with Rye House, Peterborough, Newcastle, Sheffield and Workington scrapping for the 2 remaining playoff places

It baffles me why anyone would want to be a speedway promotor - throw a load of money at it to get nothing but abuse and criticism in return! Let's at least give this side a chance before calling for changes, we've had 1 home meeting for crying out loud! Kenneth made a comment on the Facebook page that it his machinery and not his injury which is troubling him and that will be sorted this week. He was fantastic around at home against Newcastle, a real entertainer that got the crowd involved. As for yesterday some of the decisions didn't go for us but no complaints from me about the overall result. I'm sure Glasgow will hand out plenty of beatings around Ashfield this season. I think it will be closer when we come up for the league match again. I'm looking forward to returning to see the continued improvements that are being made, its certainly looking good and a vast improvement on what was there

I'd love to share your optimism Jenga but I can't see Cookie or Masters getting beaten tonight. Wolbert will probably find his new engines as well and a healthy beating is on the cards. All I can hope for is no injuries and a bit of fight from our lads for any brave supporters venturing north. -

Palovaara guests in place of Greaves who is not right after his fall at the weekend, makes us stronger, might get 35 points now! -
Workington Vs Redcar 28/3/15 7pm A66 Trophy

First meeting of the season at Derwent Park sees the second leg of the A66 Trophy against the Bears Comets will line up - Hansen, Wells, Bach, Harrison, Howarth, Barrett and Greaves. I think this team will be strong at home but may struggle away at time, big responsibility on Kyle, Rene and Ricky to push on this year. I think Kenneth and young Nathan will be exciting to watch, lets just hope for some decent weather on Saturday nights!!! Roll on Saturday

Genuine question here, how did Masters and Sedgman get back in the country? I presume they had an existing visa with Edinburgh's old sponsor licence number on it, that however was surrendered and a new one granted only a few days ago with surely a new number making their visas invalid, it was my understanding that new visas could only be applied for once the new sponsor licence was granted. Which part have I misunderstood?

Air Ambulance Rescues Speedway Rider
Django replied to peatbog's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The meeting that abandoned was the Edinburgh meeting. Over an hours wait for a road ambulance, no air ambulance required for a suspected broken ankle. Mills was riding for Glasgow and had suffered potentially serious chest, neck and back injuries hence the need for an air ambulance -
If Josh signs for another EL side they will have priority. Priority goes to the league where the rider is owned
-
I was watching it, looked like a painful fall, he was riding well as well, beating Brady Kurtz amongst others in the process
-
If Josh comes out and says he didn't say it then fair enough, I'm sure he would say something if his former employer was making things up about him. I think you should accept the facts until otherwise proven
-
There are quotes direct from Josh in the article, I'm sure if he hadn't said that he would be the first to say. I've no problem with him wanting back to Somerset just don't string people along. Maybe Somerset offered a better deal, who knows, but he is still a nice guy and I wish him success with his career
