  1. Tungate was shocking, Fisher a much better guest but the Comets were unstoppable tonight. No one in the league would have beaten Ricky or Kenneth round Derwent Park tonight. Some really good racing. Only downside was the lack of music again, too many long gaps at times. Well done to Ryan, on the pace, kept Tungate behind him for 3 laps and when he fell he got up straight away and carried on, good to see a Cumbrian Comet again
  2. Good to see Ryan get a chance, hope he does well
  3. As Jacko says on the website our task is whole lot different to what it could have been. Can't see our lads getting anything from this, 52-38
  4. I understand what you're saying in the way Heat 10 panned out but at the point of slipping 10 behind Kurtz would have been the best bet followed by Worrall then Wright as a preference for a Tac Ride All ifs and buts anyway
  5. Surely he had to play the odds in that situation, it was a fair bet that Ricky would win that heat, which he would have done if he hadn't encountered mechanical troubles while leading. It would have been a 3-3 with Kurtz in the next heat with the easiest 5-1 ever on the cards Another point on the abuse, it was only so noticeable from the handful that were doing it because the stadium was so quiet after the crash, the majority were respectful
  6. A bit of crazy night. The 'fans' that abused Josh should be ashamed of themselves, do they honestly think he would try and injure his best mate? It was racing, it happens. Garry May cost Somerset the win by giving the TR to Wright when he was up against Ricky as opposed to waiting to the next Heat when Kurtz was up against our reserves! Speaking of Kurtz, he's a fine young rider who's destined to go a long way in the sport but that move he tried to pull in 15 was one of the most reckless and dangerous I've seen in a long time, worst thing about it was he didn't need to make it, they needed a 4-2 and they were on a 4-2, he just needed to hold position instead of wiping Rene and Worrall out. Can't imagine Richie is too chuffed about his bike being written off!
  7. See Witches fans! If your in need of a home win just let the Comets come to town!!! I think this is the end for Rusty, as nice a guy as he is, he's clearly struggling since he's come back. It's the Ricky and Kyle show yet again away from home. What has happened to Rene? He's lost his nerve totally, never goes to the outside, looks slow, seems content with his 7 point average and not moving on
  8. It'll be a 15-20 point win for the Witches. As much as the team tries they just can't do it away from home and that's why we will miss the playoffs Please prove me wrong for once this season!
  9. Thought we would know the guest news by now, but who is going to let their number 1 guest the night before the 4s?
  10. I would say anyone who doesn't own their own stadium will be struggling. Doesn't leave many - Glasgow, Somerset and Rye House would be the only safe ones in my mind. Even Redcar who own their own stadium are down to the diehards, can't survive on that. The fight to be the best has led to this, overspending on riders coupled with spiralling external costs are burying the clubs. The riders are demanding more money as they want the best equipment and fancy van. When was the last time anyone saw a rider come with their bike on a trailer being towed by a car? I see them at Northside when I go there but even some of these young lads have loads of equipment, how do they afford it? In football if you want the best equipment it will cost £100 for boots, if it's cricket or golf it's £500, in speedway it's £2000 for a bike minimum then kevlars, spare parts and the van to cart it round in! It's become a spending race
  11. Kenneth Hansen take a bow, that was top drawer entertainment. Had it not been for Ricky and Rene's mechanical problems it would have been far more comfortable, but a good meeting nonetheless
  12. It'll come down to the reserves, I think the Panthers will take this
  13. I think Kurtz is the best rider in the league at the moment, just shading Cookie. Strong favourite for the PLRC I would think
  14. As someone who has no love lost for Josh Auty following the incident with poor Kenny Ingalls I've got to say that Tungate could have avoided him pretty easily. He did wind it on into him in my opinion. Auty should have gone in the original race though. Tungate should have been thrown out of that meeting
  15. How incredibly frustrating not being able to get anything from this. Another away match and again nothing from it. No chance of the play offs. Just hope to be entertained for the few home matches I'll get to before the end of the year. Hope we will be back next year.
  16. We should get something out of this but with our away record being what it is I think it will be a 12 point defeat. Tricky Dicky and Summers will have too much for our lads. Love to be wrong though!
  17. He'll no doubt end up at one of the big boys who'll pay more than Rye but it won't do them any harm
  18. This rule was altered slightly this year so a Premier League guest could be used instead of a National League 3 pointer. It's already been utilised by Newcastle when they went to Sheffield and used proper guests for their 2 Swedes. Where it stays the same as last year is that if the rider isn't riding in his home country - Worky fell foul of this when Hansen was riding in Sweden and we could only use Luke Crang at Redcar. It's probably not a bad move by Rye considering who would be available, a lot of riders would be on the continent during the week. Ellis has the local knowledge and by giving Wilson-Dean his Premier debut they're putting themselves in good position to sign him next year
  19. It'll take a big cheque to get him away from Worky
  20. Won't be Max, Belle Vue have got Josh G and Cookie already doubling up
  21. Couldn't have been closer with my prediction sadly, unfortunately our away performances are very easy to predict this season. On the plus side we are one of only two unbeaten sides at home this year! Still won't make the play offs though!
  22. All depends on Hansen, he hasn't gone well at any away track this year but if he likes this one it could be close with good support from Ricky, Kyle and Rene. If he has problems it'll be a 20 point home win, no pressure Kenneth...
