  1. bit like 4th winning the league....think oldies wont like it, modern day fans might..or is it a coincidence crowds dropped since then?
  2. Denmark and Sweden consistently get 2 rounds, Poland now has 3 plus the gp qualifier, so I don't think brits getting 2 rounds is much to expect
  3. absolutely, even if a 2nd round only attracted 6,000 it would still top other gp attendances surely having the world champion should carry a bit of weight as well
  4. how about a plus 10 for the winner? you wouldn't settle for 2nd then in the final
  5. hes winning the title within the rules given. can be annoying not seeing riders race at times, but hes doing everything right
  6. kildemand wont get a wildcard. if theres 3 Denmark qualifiers, hes got no hope. lindback surely will due to no swedes. not ideal selecting riders through nationality over quality
  7. Cardiff not in this country?.........(point taken though).....on the swc final front, it would be fantastic at belle vue, but can anybody see England (gb), seeded direct to the final? it wouldn't be right for a team outside the previous years final surely?
  8. if Britain had same race night, just maybe, our standards would rise once more...but with greyhounds and stockcars, it could never happen!
  9. im quite happy to answer this. I am no longer interested in Ipswich speedway after being a fan of 40 yrs 1971-2011.. but for you I will be totally positive, john Louis was plastered over every inch of my wall as a child, I saw john win at Hackney, div 2 riders championship, superb baptism to speedway..highlights of his riding days, the pair victory with tony Davey, his team riding with mike lanham, ron bagley..I still have the cutting from the paper when he returned to foxhall with Halifax. headlines "tiger back at foxhall and trouble", the night tim hunt put him through the home straight fence..loved the way he beat john cook in heat 4, as it was the first visiting rider I shouted for!....unfortunately he couldn't get near sigalos that night, great golden helmet wins over phil crump, leathers were probably best leathers in speedway, could praise him for ages, as a rider, a legend at foxhall
  10. think you prob right with best league track, but after watching pit area in Sweden/Poland, and their stadiums, wolves would appear rather 2nd rate visually to the tv audience
  11. probably last of the crowd pullers..excellent style, but a rider any marketing firm would love to work with
  12. doom and gloom or what? moaned bout weather in Manchester, ticket prices are too high, built in wrong area!!! the amount of hoops you have to jump through with planning permission/noise constraints etc, this should be best news on this forum..im sure cradley fans wouldn't be moaning ig they had a stadium built!
  13. on a business front, which after all, bsi is, lindback seem the obvious choice too...
  14. kings lynn LOST, against one of the worst teams in the league....but good to see belle vue back in a big occasion, I started watching speedway in the 70s, when the mighty aces were always a big draw, with mort/Collins/pusey/sjosten etc
  15. Sweden is a nation that tends to rise to the occasion in world cup finals..david ruud had a stunning performance a few years back when ricko pulled out and went on to win the world cup, I think (maybe wrong) peter ljung also in that line up
  16. I would actually prefer watching bomber than hancock...no doubting gregs ability, I just find him boring, just like jimmy nillsen..bomber is watchable "when" his equipment is up to speed
  17. saw gollob/ricko team ride round many tracks, pushing it to the limit, but in a way was pointless as opposition were 50yards behind!!
  18. dave Morton, ted howgego, soren sjosten, tony gillias!!
  19. simply has to be a swede...that's one guaranteed slot taken...world cup champions yet no top 8 rider. how many chances can jonsson be given?..with 2 gp rounds, its clearly going to be a Swedish wildcard.....Hampels record stands out, and the fact Poland have 3 rounds with capacity gates, it looks obvious he will be back
  20. with that result im sure hampel will be one wildcard, would guess lindback for the other especially with no swedes, and them getting two gp rounds....personally would like lindstrum myself
  21. im not particularly bothered bout king riding or not, more surprised a certain rider taking part who should be banned....if the bspa found him guilty (hence a 21 day ban), why no fuss about him when Auty missing out on a big day?? I know the 21 days are up (obviously), just highlighting a lenient punishment!
