  1. absolutely, really really dislike this rider sharing, a team must be a team, not mix n match. the last attempt at promotion/relegation was farcical, sky never took any notice of it either! and get the ko cup final this time of year, school holidays, it just seems obvious, but the people that run this sport just seem intent on killing it!
  2. said exactly the same for ages.. play offs at top, relegation battle at bottom would keep season long interest. promoters wouldnt just let the season drift that way. the leagues have never been closer, so this COULD work, and would give the sport, just a bit, credibility
  3. just judging by the past, im not sure riders like cook, worrall, barker. king riding in prem lge helps, hunger, ambition, and top flight should be their intentions. dont recall our world cup champions in 70s cosying up in the 2nd division
  4. its not that i disagree with it, its just clutching at straws with no substance.. he intends (if report is true), to use Ryan Rhodes gym, for fitness, at start of season with get together of 10 riders plus 5 top youngsters...thats about all it says!......lovely "plan"!
  5. anyone read rosco 5 yr plan in todays daily star????? omg!
  6. clearly i didnt say that, and eastbourne are not bottom....you are talking one/two at most, riders that edinburgh would require..yes it would cost them a bit more, but is speedway gonna be kept in a time warp? or is someone gonna grab this sport by the balls and make it respectable?..its ticking over, and ONLY JUST ticking over..all im saying is, the leagues have probably never been closer..there should be an incentive to end in higher position possible as well
  7. eastbourne? there crowds? i dont see a large gap in crowd difference, nor standard, of bottom e.l. team.....the real problem is the stupid rider sharing merri-go-round
  8. the last attempt was a disaster..it wasnt taken serious, and a typical half hearted attempt.. not sure why they "dont want to, or cant run" in another league..think you would find clubs who WANTED to stay up, wouldnt just see out the season. if you want big crowds at end of season, im sure a meaningful relgation battle would draw them in
  9. if you had promotion/relegation, like proper sports, the interest would be there for bottom clubs..if your bottom of E.L., the finance cant be that much different to those at top of prem lge..teams running in elite on around the 600 mark cant be much different to that top of prem pay scales
  10. quite agree, for the fans its sport, for the promotion, its there business, to make it a success. i dont go along with the theory of extra revenue. attendances are down all over the place, clearly the product isnt right..the play offs for edinburgh fans must be dragging on, they clearly just waiting til october, hence, i would imagine "some" edinburgh fans are missing games all over the summer as they are just waiting for the REAL stuff...so what they gain in october, is only what they are losing now
  11. bruce penhall white city bruce penhall, los angeles coleseum
  12. with all due respect, thats codswallop.....i personally went right through my schooling. every thursday night, theres not one iota of proof that effected anything..
  13. worky, berwick away, plus edinbugh home and away, not easiest of tasks for newcastle imo
  14. totally agree, but at least harris has won the odd race at this level, not great rider, but with what gb has, he would of had to been selected, imo...in all honesty we are in the same boat as the usa, with just one automatic selection
  15. a match need to be sold to the public..take the hype of a boxing match, it has to have edge, an "event"..take ipswich last match, right upto race day, no-one knew whether or not the no1 richie worrall was racing or not....nothing came out to the public..surely thats basic?
  16. john earrey. never to be beaten, truley one off
  17. poor selection those two, as stated before the start..rosco claiming the forum moaners were wrong after k.lynn, think again.....we knew those two especially couldnt do it, the weakness of the kings lynn round was a fake impression..italy? only hancock for usa, no holder in aussie team? yet rosco had a pop at this forum...the trouble was, cos they scored well against weaker sides, did rosco believe gb really were that good, or didnt he have the guts to drop the obvious two?......im unaware if bridger was/is injured, but clearly riding in poland must be a "slight" more equipped, granted other selections wouldnt of been obvious, what was obvious, was those two wouldnt cut the mustard. its not a after statement either, i said this weeks before. Rosco knows full well k.lynn gifted him a great debut result, but the harsh reality has hit now
  18. edinburg somerset workington berwick scunny pboro
  19. this was my exact point, before rosco started having ago at the "doubters" on this forum..i prdicted 4pts from stead with king being out of his depth. i stated this way before i saw the line ups..having seen kings lynn match, the italians were no hopers, a one man american side and holder missing from australia..come this world final with proper squads, my point is proved..
  20. just what does england have to do to get the wc final here? constantly biggest gp, best support for world cup qualifyers, current world champ? yet poland, yet again fails to deliver!
  21. your 1st line is totally wrong.....just like the rest.... had you seen any other post, you will of seen i think you should be champions, as im not a play off fan, you will of also seen i think lynn is a great race track (but not so much lately)..i did ask, was there a response from the current promotion over this?..water should be given, if needed free, just like in nightclubs..!!!!
  22. in the days of ringing up clubs to check weather, you would think todays world would be up dated instantly
