  1. Connor Locke has signed as one of the reserves after being released as Kents number 8
  2. its only a pound, its been £12 for 3 years, and under 12's still free, so unless the "whole family" are over 12 then it shouldn't really be too much more I can still take my 2 kids and they will get in free, programme staying the same price? if so it will cost me an extra pound a week to take me and my kids, not going to break the bank I don't think Kent always do things right, but not going to criticise them over this one
  3. I agree with you that an old head around the place can work wonders, but it's different from before, we have Clifton and Bowen, and Ayres is no spring chicken. Ideal if you have a young team, and he's hardly on a bargain average
  4. I wasn't at the meeting but saw enough of Verge last season to know he won't progress much further than where he is now, similar to Shepherd and Couzins Shame, as he is a local lad, but there are plenty of young lads out there looking for a chance to impress and I believe he is taking the spot away from one of them, but no doubt if they are any good they will sign for Eastbourne over Kent anyway.
  5. You can "dress it up" that way but the other way of looking at it is that he only finished ahead of Widman and Tedham all night, and that is on his home track. He wouldn't have scored that many if there were not so many retirements in his races, and to compare him to Shanes? probably one of his worst performances over the season. I'd rather of had Basford back then any of the other 3
  6. The fact that was by far his best performance of the season speaks volumes
  7. Can't believe that only about 2 or 3 months back the reality of watching elite league speedway at Central Park was still very much alive yet we get this team. Bowen may well be a great number 1 in this league but to bring Mason and Verge back show little imagination so much for it being a league to help young riders progress, we have swapped a great young number 1 for an old timer not good enough for the premier league and added Mason and Clifton, we might as well get Armstrong and rename our team Dads Army
  8. Can't say the name rings any bells either, but good luck, probably what Kent need after last season Got to be said though, that should National League sides be allowed to bring in riders in their 30s as reserves at the expense of young riders Though Kent aren't breaking any rules by doing it, wish him all the best
  9. Good news he's back, surprised he hasn't been chosen as a PL 3 pointer yet Would be a great number 1
  10. Maybe if Bjerre is returning, Kings Lynn should try to sign Leon Madsen to partner him, seems to work well in Poland
  11. Thanks for the update so he is unavailable for 2016 as well? wow that's a long time out
  12. I am looking at going to Torun this year for the first time, will the polish season still be running on October 1st or will it be play offs by then? any tips from any regulars of Torun? Thanks
  13. What happened to Cameron Woodward? I know this is probably not the place to ask, but was he not named in the Coventry side last year before he was injured ? sure his injury was not too serious, but have not heard of him since, did he retire?
  14. Surely there are plenty of decent non GP riders about who could ride as a heatleader? Vaculik, Dudek, MJJ, KK, Pawlicki senior, THJ, Smolinski, Ljung, Protasiewicz, Kolodziej, Milik, or even some lesser established poles could come in I understand GP riders wanting to give it a miss, but would have though some riders want to ride
  15. I get my internet through bt When I switched about 3 years ago I signed an 18 month contract and they gave me bt sports for free When I was coming to the end of my contract they contacted me and I said throw in the bt sports for the length of the contract again and I will sign up again Will keep trying the same, anyone with a bt contract that is expiring, tell them you want free bt sports to sign again, they will agree
  16. certainly no arguement from me that Kolodziej and Protasiewicz are past their prime, but the same could be said about AJ I would have picked Kildermand, Hampel, Lindback and either Dudek or Vaculik still, it is what it is, and i think next years series does have most of the best riders in, bar Saifutdinov
  17. It's obviously all about opinions, my opinion would be that AJ is in to fill a quota, he is not one of the best 16 in the world, he would struggle to make top 20 If you are looking for riders who are better , and have not already qualified, you can only look at last seasons form, and not judge it over 3 or 5 years M Vaculik, P Dudek , J Kolodziej, G Laguta, P Protasiewicz , and even P Przedpelski have performed better in the last 12 months just a question, if Harris had not qualified via the official qualifiers, would there automatically be a second brit ?
  18. How is KK sorted for next year elsewhere? Could be wrong but i thought he finished last season dropped by his swedish/polish side? he has no GP's, if he was only riding elite league I don't see how his overseas commitments would take priority Lets not forget what a class rider KK can be, finishing second in last years GP series, his commitment and form are obviously questionable only asking the question, not actually saying Lakeside should sign him, but if he can discover a bit of form, which he has to do for his own career it could be a shrewd signing
  19. Yes, I agree Harris is in fairly and squarely Jonnson however had the opportunity and wasn't good enough Kildermand. Hampel and Lindback I agree with Would like the best riders in it, not quotas, but the decision has been made
  20. Was just looking for the thread and couldn't find it Now there is definitely going to be a Lakeside 2016 who's in and who's out? Aj is a cert Reckon Kim Nielson and Kennett could return, Lawson and Bech could go. Ellis to Poole? So maybe North in return Everyone else linked with Doyle, would he fit? how about AJ Kennett Doyle Nielson North +2 What is the Lakeside rumour mill suggesting?
  21. It is possible, but that is just an opinion and not a fact, I don't think Redcar would go to Eastbourne and beat them with over 60 points, but again it's just my opinion When I was growing up watching Exeter, not many sides, even the mighty Poole, would come to Exeter and dish out a thrashing and that is a fact, Exeter used to ride annually against Poole and Swindon and they were always tight, class riders like Phil Crump, Steve Schofield or Craig Boyce always done well, but were still on the losing side sometimes even if the home side do lose, its nice to see different riders, I would rather see Kent lose at home to Poole than I would watch Kent lose at home to Mildenhall
  22. I like the idea, would like to see national league teams as well would need to be seeded so that the first round would be national league teams at their home tracks against the bottom half of the premier league teams, and the top half of the premier league to be drawn at their home tracks v the elite league, all done over 1 leg only, unless its a draw and a replay the lower league side will always get home advantage unless teams draw each other from the same league the lower league side will always get use of and "shared" riders Whilst their might not be massive interest from the elite league sides, how about giving something back to the rest of the speedway supporting public, nothing I would like to see more than some of the big boys coming down to kent, win lose or draw, would be good just to see them why can't there be upsets? happens in every other sport
  23. Ennis is massive favourite, Hamilton won it last year, Andy Murray is one of the favs , Chris Froome, Mo Farah and Wayne Rooney make up the top 6 in terms of bookie odds (bet 365)
  24. Yeah, just checked, Lewis Hamilton received over 200 000 votes last year, don't think there are that many people in the Uk that have even heard of Speedway Would take everyone that went to Cardiff, to vote 5 times for him.
