  1. not the greatest meeting, but Kent won, Adam Sheppard looked better after his lay off scoring 7 although could have been more to do with the opposition, Morley was a class act all night, Shanes had an average meeting for him, Ayres and Baseby looking good too Really only Halsey and Mountain puuting up much opposition
  2. You seem to know more than me as I have no idea what you are talking about
  3. I may be wrong as I had left exeter by the time exeter speedway closed but I can guess that part of the money was used for haldon whilst the rest helped to get plymouth started, with the view at the time that some speedway in devon was better than no speedway in devon, I don't know if fans of exeter ever made the switch to supporting plymouth as most I knew just stopped going with a few going to somerset This was my understanding based on what I had read, but I could be wrong
  4. Not sure this is anything more than a couple of fans desperately wanting a team back at Exeter, fair play to the fellas, but not sure how far you can go with no money I really hope they get something going, I would be interested to hear what Mr Lethbridge has to say, I really hope he will be involved in one way or another.
  5. Holder 50 less Doyle 50 more THJ 50 more Pedersen 50 more sorry, changed my mind, edited before start
  6. I attend Kent and Lakeside Don't have a preference for either, I am central to both despite living in Kent, lakeside is actually a bit closer But if I was choosing Kent for £12 or Lakeside for a fiver, I would choose Lakeside. There is obviously more than a few, else Kent wouldn't have cancelled In my opinion, the main difference (the standard of racing apart), is the way one club tries to look after its supporters and one club does the opposite and takes it fans for granted For me, speedway differs from any other sport, You wouldn't get many football fans watching say Spurs and Arsenal, but speedway fans just want to watch speedway and will travel to see it, I know people who go to Lakeside, Kent and Rye House
  7. when he wins a race at Kent he has been known to stop in front of the main stand literally park up, and start revving his engine whilst cupping his hand to his ear , my kids love it Great entertainer and obviously not unique, but different, riding style, the brightest spark of Kent's season and has been worth the entrance fee alone on occasions. and a Kent asset to boost,
  8. All the fuss this year has been about Wajtknecht and Wilson Dean, and rightly so But at 18, Shanes has gone under the radar a bit, but has been equally impressive in a poor Kent side, one for the future for sure, hope he can get on the draft list next year
  9. Listened to this on the radio and can't help but think the mangers choice for heat 15 could have cost kings a draw tonight, not saying ellis and zach are easy for anyone to beat, but why not pick either of your 2 top scorers?
  10. the only thing I don't like is when they show the guy who is half a lap clear at the front with no one near him but totally ignore the battle for the race for 2nd/3rd happens more on Swedish to be honest
  11. Any reason there is only the 2 matches tonight? has one been called off?
  12. is it straight 20 heats or is there a final?
  13. and why would they, their doing such a fantastic job
  14. Sorry if I'm not making myself clear, but for example take Poole, their team is Holder, Watt, North, Gomolski, janowski, Newman and Starke, they then approach as an example, Thomas H jonnasson, as a reserve heat leader, Michael Palm toft as their reserve second string and Ben Morley as their reserve reserve, all 3 are all ready earning a living from speedway, for them they get a minimal retainer, i'll say as an imaginary figure £500 for the season, they then only get paid if they actually ride, and as point 1 says we are having all our elite league speedway on 1 night, there will be no fixture clashes of course all of the above is just an example of how it could work, and I'm only throwing a few suggestions about, I'm not exactly expecting the BSPA to do any of it
  15. 1, my thinking is, if you allow riders to double up there will be no fixture clashes 5, you only pay the riders riding, maybe some small retainer for the services of non riding riders and you would be allowed to select track specialists for certain tracks if that rider is in your named squad, wouldn't really cost more than a guest 6, obviously just an idea and the financials would need to be worked out but extra numbers on the gates of the smaller clubs helping grass routes and maybe some separate tv deal
  16. my 6 1, 1 night per week for elite league speedway, premier and national league teams can choose when they want to ride as long as it's not on the elite league night. 2, Scrap the tactical double and replace with tactical substitute to be used when 6 down, and as many times as you like as long as you are -6 3, keep the draft but your number 6 must be under 25 and your number 7 must be under 21, also introduce to Premier league, top 5 draft riders each year must be fit into the main body of the team the following year as a number 2 or 4 but on a protected 4.00 average 4, Introduce ride on music for each rider, sounds daft, but each rider comes out to his chosen tune, red first, then blue, then white and yellow, each rider becomes synonymous with that tune, and gives the crowd time to cheer or boo in Nicki's case each rider, it has done wonders for the darts, and as soon as the race has finished the winning rider does a lap of honour to his tune, and as soon as he has cleared the track and the results are given the next race build up starts, except of course for track grading or a short break if a rider has 2 on the trot, this may sound trivial but keeps the meeting flowing and as a dad who regularly takes kids, i'm sure it would go down well with the little ones as it helps to identify riders 5, Squad systems, 10 riders, the same 1-7 system, but with one reserve heat leader, I reserve second string and a number 8, teams chosen riders must still fit to a points average, but cuts out R/R and guests, riders can still double up as nights are different 6.Reintroduction of a cup, (similar to old bspa cup?) seeded and open to all teams in all leagues, yes, there are going to be some hammerings along the way, but if it was seeded that say national league teams were seeded in a 1 legged competition at home to premier league clubs and premier league clubs seeded at home to elite league clubs there could be some upsets along the way, I'm sure fans of national league teams would love to have the chance to see the likes of Lambert, Morris, Kurtz etc at their home tracks, and i'm sure some of the top premier teams would be capable of upsetting the big boys with it being a one off home match Again I expect people to tell me none of that will work, but you never know
  17. Think it's a mini tour as they are definitely at Kent on Monday, no mention of any riders yet though
  18. think I saw quoted that it will be a 7pm start with a 9-30pm curfew, but i'm not certain
  19. You can also try "Joe screen v Swist and Hamill, a fine race however not the best quality footage someones took the trouble to put together "the best speedway races ever" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL252kNh4mo Not watched it all but its an hour long and that's only part 1
