  1. You can assume all you like, this forum is full of assumptions - many of them wrong. What are you expecting as a response..... If the SS news is put back a week....its put back a week. At least we all know its put back a week.........we will have to wait a bit longer.
  2. Thanks for that Mike, good to hear Darcy.....he sounds so positive, which he needs to be. I hope his fund raising meetings are a success.
  3. My apololgies, the question I asked is not pointed in the right direction, so I will re-phrase Before the 2016 season ie NSS opening, does anyone know what the relationship between Dave Gordon/Chris Morton and BSPA was in reality??
  4. Before the 2016 season ie NSS opeing, does anyone know what the relationship between Dave Gordon and Chris Morton ws in reality???
  5. Not necessarily so, his withdrawal leaves 3 to choose from, maybe the choice of 2 or even all 3 is so close it taking time to think it out.
  6. Thats a lot of money to be owed. I wonder if there are other Swedish teams in trouble, or maybe Danish teams. We know one or two Polish teams have their money problems (How much was Emil owed) The face of speedway could be changing dramatically, and it doesnt look good for what comes out of it.
  7. Longtrack racing demise is a sign of the times, back in the 70's and 80's long track was very competitive and thriving..... so was speedway....... look at them now though.
  8. I dont know the guy not the work he done for speedway, but all the comments I hear on this forum are all good..... so I really hope he has a long and happy retirement, sounds like he deserves it.
  9. If they did "fly around europe" looking at tracks then they did a cracking job - the track is a race track 110% Maybe because Manchester City Council was stumping up the money they ruled the roost, its a large powerful council, and maybe they were more dominant then Gordon and Morton on certain issues.Who knows. No one knows what went on, no one on this forum anyway, so its all guess work, and in the process of guessing the reputation of innocent individuals could be tarnished.
  10. Maybe in the first week of March the weather is more predictable in Gorican then in Manchester.
  11. I had just told you, pressed the like button by mistake, I was looking for the quote button, so I took back the "like" (cancelled it) and then pressed the quote button and replied to your post re crowds not liking the facilities at the WTC at Belle Vue.
  12. Pressed by error, was after the quote button, "the like" has been taken back.
  13. I attended the WTC both nights, in the extra stand erected on bends 3-4 and was absolutely fine. Yes, it could have been better for toilet facilities but it was ok, better next time probably.
  14. Well that should shut up more then a few on here who have strongly condemned Gordon and Morton for carrying on with the Peter Craven Memorial meeting whilst knowing there was a problem on bends 3-4. Clearly there was a FULL practice session lasting SEVERAL hours with Aces, Colts and others taking part. They were happy with the track giving it a and followed by Mark Lemon saying "all problems were sorted and the track was good to go". There is a lot yet to come out IMO, but will it.
  15. delete a thread started by me

  16. i must lead a sheltered life..... whats going on?
  17. Probably correct, and thats why the BV National Speedway Stadium will be open for business in 2017. Tomorrow, 3rd Jan, is the first working day in the new year, wheels will start turning, meetings arranged for sooner rather then later, and a news statement issued...... we wait patiently. I hope an announcement is sooner because as someone said a few posts ago - riders are wanting to know where they will be next year.
  18. Hi bw double, would you mind putting full stops in all the places they should be in your next posts. I was interested in what you were "saying" in the above post but it took me at least 3 reads to get the jist of the post, and of course I still may have guessed wrong. The part I highlighted in RED, I not heard that before. I had heard the contractors laid a membrane upside down. Fitted correctly, this was to allow water to pass through downwards but not allow water to rise. Fitted upside down meant the track was not draining at that place. That was why more then 75% of the track was fine but bends 3-4 had to be dug up and the membrane fitted correctly. The membrane problem was only noticed when the track was being dug up. Can anyone (with sense) confirm what the problem was due to??????? Some interesting and thoughtful points there
  19. If Freddie did what he did on an engine being developed, and I no reason to disbelieve it, then he did really really well. It is very reasonable to think that the developments would be put into production models asap, so that means those being purchased now have all the development mods that proved +ve during 2016 incorporated into them. Of course, riders still have to be able to match the capabilities of the engine, whatever engine that be.
  20. If you think BVs problem completely centered around the failure of one night then IMO you are wrong. It was a contributing factor obviously, but I think there was much going on that forum members in general dont know much about. I recognise that some forum members are much nearer to hearing truths then others, but I dont think any on the forum are at the "centre" of truths and some like you, SS and I, are far from it. I just think that there was a lot going on that "we" may never get to know about but to say all that went wrong could be blamed on one days event and all due to the fault of the promoters and it "they" had listened to you 2 weeks before the Peter Craven meeting then all would have been ok is, IMO, rubbish.
  21. When I was reading this my thoughts continually went to "thats what the 2016 promoters were doing" ie Gordon and Morton. They were passionate about the venture - thay had worked for years to break away from the dog track, with passion. There were faults with the stadium that were a direct result of the council/contractors action or lack of it. We still dont know, probably never will, the detail of any financial handling that may have added to the problem. They did assemble a team that topped the league table (but robbed of the important play off win). But maybe the problem was your last point.....were/are Gordon and Morton buddies of Chapman. I do remember on that fateful Saturday night back in March when the Peter Craven meeting was cancelled (which we are led to believe was a faulty track - council/contractor problem), it was either that night or the next day that a quote from Chapman was posted on the forum thread that blasted the management of BV.... I remember reading it and thinking he opening his mouth before facts are known (which is never good). It just seemed to me very in appropriate but at the same time....is there a dislike of BV success (ie getting a brand new stadium built from council funds) and was there some joy at its failure on the first meeting.
  22. How has the OP title "2017 Admission Prices" come to be "Touching Tapes" - its amazing how threads go off track.
