Emil Sayfutdinov 2015OveFundinFan replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Lets face it - all riders would love to be able to gate like Greg Hancock. Current youngsters on the gp scene are even getting lessons/advice from other successful gaters on how to do it on a regular basis - and still dont get it right all the time. Its an acquired art, and because Greg has taken the time and effort to perfect that art , to me, he is deserving of praise. As for his riding skill, again what he does is smooth and skilful. Sure his arms and legs are waving about like they dont belong to a body, but he wins races and got the off track charisma to make him a very saleable commodity. The reason he probably cant pass from the back as esily as others is probably due to the fact he is usually up front and doesnt get too much practice being behind others. lol Yes, I have no doubt he will be missed when he eventually hangs up the leathers. But at the moment he is still top of his game so probably another couple years yet - who knows. Could he get to 50 and still be at the top? Hope so. But we are a long way off "Emil Sayfutdinov 2015"

Riga Gp Tickets 2014OveFundinFan replied to James 12345's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup That track should have been ready for racing weeks ago, and had a meeting or two - not just a few riders having a go. It was a bit like Brazil and the world cup, finishing off at the last minute - rarely ever good management.

Love the charicatures. Thanks for those.

Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned SubstanceOveFundinFan replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions Saw yesterday the bank invovled in the Ecclestone matter has refused to accept £20 million settlement - so be interesting where it goes next.

2014 European Speedway ChampionshipsOveFundinFan replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway Who amongst us grumbles about paying the TV licence? The alternative to TV licence is advertising, after all someone has to pay for the programmes. Having been starved of speedway since the early 80's I just glad I get "free" access from Eurosport (ok I pay Sky for the "general" programme package which includes BritEurosport). I dont mind too much about the adverts - they mostly come when the track is being graded anyway so whats the big fuss about. Interesting meeting when the inside line was much faster then the wider line (generally speaking) - maybe Smolinski could have been a winner last night (had he been there).

Emil Sayfutdinov 2015OveFundinFan replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Dave the Mic Did you not read my first post on this point "If I could I would give him the 2015 Cardiff wild card (cause I am going but I know it can't happen)" then after you commenting I made it clearer still - did you not read "If I could I would give him the 2015 Cardiff wild card (cause I am going but I know it can't happen)" notice I highlighted in bold that "IF I COULD" I would give Emil the wild card "BUT I KNOW IT CANT HAPPEN" and others have already commented that Chris harris was GIVEN the wild card in 2013 irrespective of the British Championship - whats to stop it happening again? Back to Emill - good meeting tonight and Emils bike really was going well.

Emil Sayfutdinov 2015OveFundinFan replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Love to see him in the GPs next year, but the little I have seen of him this year seems to show he is not riding at the level he was for the first half of last year. I just wonder if that crash that took him out is playing a major part of his lost of form, or is he earning so much money this year that he doesnt need to be showing top form ?

Emil Sayfutdinov 2015OveFundinFan replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Dave the Mic, I said re Emil.... If I could I would give him the 2015 Cardiff wild card (cause I am going but I know it can't happen) but that will already have a name on it and yes, if the powers that be want more then 1 GB rider at Cardiff then the obvious choice is go for the current 2nd best rider in GB and that isChris Harris, nuch as it pains me.

"Once Boris found out that speedway bikes produced noise and were powered not by pedals but an engine he would campaign for the sports banning". Cycle Speedway could do with a big boost as well.

Emil Sayfutdinov 2015OveFundinFan replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup So if he has decided to do the qualifying rounds that means the earliest on the GP scene will be 2016 and that is not a certainty ie he has to keep injury free. Its not as if he can have a single GP wild card as GP's dont go to Russia. If I could I would give him the 2015 Cardiff wild card (cause I am going but I know it can't happen) but that will already have a name on it

Does anyone know the plans of Emil for 2015 re the GP's.? Is he going to contest? is there a way for him to contest?

My comment you highlighted in red was a bit tongue in cheek. I have my views on the matter.

The refs NEED to stop that. Same in the televised Swedish league racing tonight. Too much delay between races.

Apparantly it is legal in Germany, the sum you pay is dependent on what you have - in Bernies case the sum has never been as high. After all he is a multi BILLIONAIRE. Buying your self out of a trial does not imply you are guilty or not guilty - so now we will never know, and of course, it would be wrong to speculate.

Cant believe it - I have booked a b&b and Millenium stadium seats for wife and I for next years Cardiff Gp, all of eleven months in advance. Never done anything like that before - just love the place. The b&b is about 20 minutes away, got to do that to get the price reasonable, but we drop into Cardiff for the Sunday night when prices there go back to sensibility. I am going to predict the winner (barring injuries) as NKI

Message To EurosportOveFundinFan replied to Big Al's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup That "jack bloke" (Jack Burnicle) is actually a very good and professional commentator. Tune in when motorcycle racing is on ie British Superbikes, and you will recognise he's been around a bit and knows his stuff. Having said that, he did make a few "gaffs" on Swedish speedway on Tuesday evenings but he made me chuckle, probably because I knew he is bloomin good but speedway was not his forte. He is still on British Superbikes and commentating very well.

World Cup Final 2nd August 2014OveFundinFan replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Great meeting, some really good racing, I really enjoyed that. Man of the meeting for me was Jason Doyle. Last year I was routing for Poland, this year I was routing for Denmark. Just didnt like the advantage Poland had in the first 4 races - as if they knew how the track was prepared. When the others caught on and got the machines set up right then the real meeting started. I dont like the Joker, but it proved its worth this time - the right team won, pity Australia didnt finish second. Low crowd, love to know what is really going on in Poland as to why they seemed to have turned away from speedway - especially meetings like that.

Thats what makes Greg so good. He seems to expend little energy as possible to get the most points. Spectacular? Maybe not but h gets the points - 40 of them in two world cup rounds, and 3 of the weaker riders were on his team so he didnt score easy points beating them. (apologies to Gregs 3 team mates - they did a great job)
-
Just watched the meeting from start to finish. What a good race track Bydgosh (spelling?) is. How disappointing a cracking meeting could not attract a good crowd though. Hats off to Greg, 6 races, 6 wins, pretty good stuff, and even more so at 44 years old. Other riders would give an arm and a leg to be able to gate like him, but he came from the back in the race he was led. Definitely a legend in his own lifetime IMO As for THE incident between Nilsson and Krchmar, that was a tough decision on Sweden I think. Looking at the slow motions, you can see Krchmar saw Nilsson on his inside and had plenty time to shut off and avoid a self made disaster IMO. He is young and showed his inexperience but hey! Krchmar, Bentzen and Millak have good careers in the making and I look forward to seeing them for many years to come at the top level.

Not seen the meeting yet. Got it recorded so going to make time today hopefully. Sounds interesting.
