Now we get wingers going on about something that has not even happened.

Too many negatives popping up, seems as the British way of speedway is in the dumps all other nations should be dragged down as well. The "smaller" speedway nations need developing, it has been said on here for some time. Individual riders need developing. I was glad to see and event that has brought 15 nations into one competition, for sure it was expected that the current dominant nations would predictable dominate. But did they? Some "minor" nations surprised the top guns, at least giving them a run during a race though may not be beating them to the tapes. Who was not surprised at Luke Becker scoring 19, including 3 race wins....that is more than any other rider in Semi-final 1. Or the exciting rides from Timi Salonen and Marko Levishyn. Who was expecting those rider in SF1 to perform like that. In SF2 Milik showed form that he can still race, he scoring 19 along with Woffy and Berge. Who would expect Paco Castagna to race as he did and get 17, a lot more points then Robert and Dan put together. Who was expecting Matic Ivacic to show the pace he did. Can you see the enthusiasm this must have put into the young riders in these "minor" countries. The success of riders in Vojens must create enthusiasm with potential sponsors in those countries. There were sure signs progress can be made, the efforts of riders in the last two nights really was exciting. Not all efforts were turned into points, but the potential was clear to me. The crowds were poor, did the organisers see that coming? We dont know. Having 4 meetings in 4 days would mean supporters virtually spending a week in Denmark. Can many afford to do that. For sure there was a couple of supporters from GB there the last two nights, maybe others as well. Perhaps the organisers should have seen a low attendance coming, especially for three rounds, and could have said "we wont televise it", then there would still have been grumblers. I happy to see what has been on so far, the effort put in by organisers and riders (especially riders) will see something better in years to come. For the few riders from the last two meetings that will be riding tonight I wish them well and they dont get any injuries, a fewer numbers will be racing on Saturday in the main final as well, 3 meetings in 4 days is impressive.

I had gone back a few pages, obviously not far enough. Sorted now, thanks I enjoyed that. The format is good, 2x 7 teams gives underdogs a chance as we saw tonight. Impressed with Luke Becker and Marko Levishyn, and Timo Salonen too. No adverts on Discovery +, which means they not relying on adverts to pay for coverage, they after subscriptions. The choice is adverts or not, some grumble about adverts, but we cant have it free of adverts and not pay some other way.

All I want now is Discovery+ to take on MotoGP/2/3 and I can kick BT completely into oblivion.

Discovery+ has British Premiership speedway, SPEEDWAY gP’s and SofN. this week there will be 4 speedway meetings, tonight Brit Premiership, We’d &Thurs the SofN semis and Saturday the SofN final. At £60 per year (offered for £30 at beginning of this year), it works out at £5 per month. This week alone the 4 meetings are going to cost £1.25 each. Plus I can see WOrld MX gp’s, and British Superbikes. Whats not to like.

It was a good meeting. I was impressed with Tom Brennan. He is improving nicely. Enjoy his presence whilst you can, he will be riding regular Poland within 3 year. I was also impressed with Josh Pickering. He rode really well.

What injuries has Dan received, looked an horrendous crash which he didn’t do any wrong, just the wrong place.

Reflecting on Saturday nights GP, overall it wasn’t bad, the set track produced some, let’s say, interesting racing, but as lines developed it turned into something better than an ok meeting, but I wouldn’t say it was a very good meeting and far from brilliant. Dan and Robert seem to be developing nicely. Dan has turned himself into a good gater, much better than last year. Both seem to be holding back when close to someone, like they have straight line speed, get to a corner and seem to shut off a bit. It’s inexperience. Laguta used to do the same, but something changed in him last year and took him to a new level. Would love to see Madsen or Lingren become world champ this year, but it doesn’t look it will happen. Due to injury/illness I think the chance has passed them. So, my hope is on Vaculik. He knows how to race, and race fast. He can take it to Zmarzlik as he showed on Saturday. Given he has fast bikes, if he can keep injury free he has a good chance of doing it.

Top 8? Only top 6 are guaranteed for next year. Plus top 3 from GPChallenge, winner of European championship, wild card for every meeting, and 5 for organisers to pick.

Predicament with the GPs at the moment is that 2 of the top riders over the last 5 years are carrying injuries/illness and not as strong as before….. Freddie and Leon. The big spoilers, including Janowski, are not consistent enough to take the final each meeting, and the upcoming younger ones…. Dan and Robert have the speed, especially Dan, but not the experience (yet) at this level. So it’s Zmarzlik title to lose. Pity Vaculik didn’t start the year like he is now.. 15 points behind with 5 meetings to go is very doable if everything goes right, and he is probably the one who could take it from Zmarzlik.

It can be difficult to see the other end of a grass track oval…… other than smallish images that you know are riders. Does not take away the spectacle of grass track racing.

Not being disrespectful, but the same things were said about him in 2019. I actually like his riding style, but would much prefer a younger rider be able to have a go.

Kolodzeij best GP days were at least 15 years ago. He was in the GP’s 3 years ago was it, he won a round but most of the time was well down the order. He is a bit like KK or ALindback.

Everyone in this years world championship number 1-15 qualified by what they did last year. first 6 in last years championship qualified by being top point scores in the previous years GP series. (was it 8 rounds, usually 10ish) first 3 in last years GP Challenge final last year this qualifies for this years GP series, they have qualifying rounds too.. first in last years European championship, run over three rounds. 5 riders are selected/qualify at the organisers discretion taking into account their performance and injuries etc in the previous year. no 16 is perhaps the only one that doesn’t need to qualify, and that is arguable. that’s how I see it. This years gp is not some closed club to some riders, each and every one has qualified in some manner. Ok, occasionally someone gets through the system and gets into the GPs but he has had to work at it. I loved the one off world final, the atmosphere was great, but also love the current GP system where the best rider over the season is world champ. Not only has the winner needed to ride each different track well, he has had to select the right engine/setup for different tracks.

With fuel costs rising as they are, just on that consideration, could be big loss of tracks at the end of year. Tracks will have to get into streaming quickly if the want to survive, couple with something new to them…… promoting an event well.

Years ago I had a mob that took me and a gasman into the kitchen of a restaurant. It was disgusting. We were offered a cup of tea, and we refused that.

Excellent racing, if I said anything different I must have been typing in my sleep.

I just sit back and enjoy the racing.

Must be amazing to race on it, and spectacular to watch it.
