  1. I would accept after 20 heats the rider with the most points being declared the GP winner. In the event of a tie the GP winner would be decided on who beat who when they met. However in the event of a 3 way tie I am stuck. Would be easy to sort if all three et in one race. After the 20 heats, there would be 2 semis and a final, just like now, for extra world championship points AND for viewer excitement.
  2. I. Don’t know it’s size, but 350 yards sound much too big and 262 yards sounds about right. It was called a frying pan not a wok
  3. I am ok with Pearson (and Tatum). If you think Pearson is bad, be careful what you wish for....... there are plenty below him, you might end up with one.
  4. Nowt wrong with the points system as it is. Points win prizes..... either a GP win or world 1-2-3. Leave the system as is.
  5. Top 4 sort themselves easily, same with some middle and end ones, but potentially some movers.
  6. Zmarzlik, Madsen, Emil, Woffy, Doyle, Janowski, Lindgren, Vaculik, Iversen, Hancock, Dudek, Laguta, Fricke, Zagar, Lindback Not in any order within each 5 Movers could be Janowski up to level 1, Doyle down to L2 Hamcock and/or Iversen could go down to L3, Fricke and/or Zagar could go up to L2.
  7. Togliatti GP......I feel about of depression coming on.
  8. I think those are 3 key points. Without asking the accused for a statement, written or spoken, before a judgement is made is out of order. If, after reviewing all points available, the decision is “guilty”, then the two former highlighted points should be taken into consideration.
  9. I remember him riding at BV in 1962, bit of a joker involved in centre green antics in the interval.
  10. But thats not the current rules, so that argument is ruled out You just dont like him, thats ok, just say so, no problem.
  11. I'm ok with Smektala, actually I think he is a better racer then Drabik. This year was an unusual year that gave Lambert a massive opportunity to ride a full season - was only an injury that stopped that, and Fricke also got a good number of meetings on the trot due to injuries of others. Always a possibility of a very quiet year for series reserves.
  12. GP's give me a buzz alright, especially on a track that allows racing of the highest order. Its British speedway that is flat for me, for the opposite reasons. I know all tracks cannot be like BV, but preparation for racing is lacking at most.
  13. I think that sums it up. The likes of Zagar, Iversen, Vaculik can win a GP at any time..... just like Kolodeiz did this year...... but they cannot do it regularly. But they would be a loss to the series if not in for 2020. Lambert early on this year got to a couple of semis, but couldn’t do it regularly. And that’s the thinking I have at the moment with the likes of Drabik and Smektala. Against other under 21’s they look amazing (and they are), but can they do that against the more established senior riders? Sure they can on occasions and on certain (gaters) tracks, but not regularly. Even on a big track like Pardubice for the under 21 WC last Friday, when those two were gated they were sometimes not as dominant and even being passed by some of the others ie Cuganov in the final, and Lindsey was a challenge to them. This year Lambert got the pick of first series reserve. Why him and not Drabik or Smektala? They are better then him, must have been done purely on nationality. Too many Poles in the series, even up with the possibility of a Brit, or even an Aussie (Fricke). When they got the chance, Fricke seemed to have taken hold of the opportunity more then Lambert, and IMO was clearly better. Plus, Fricke performed well in the Challenge final, Lambert was carrying a big injury. I hope Fricke can build on that, get the sponsorship to invest in the equipment needed for a GP season, and move forward. IMO, Lambert will benefit immensely by Not being in the 2020 series. It was tough for him this year, injury as well. He can go out confident in the fact he can race at that level, now needs to develop the consistency to do it. Perhaps couple years time he will be back. Re. Michelson, if he is as good as those who wanted him as a wild card say he is, he to will prove it in 2021. If he had finished higher in the Challenge then either Zagar, Iversen or Vaculik, then maybe his claim to a spot this year would have been more valid, but he didn’t. If he can progress in 2021 then may be he qualifies or wild card in 2022.
  14. Never gave a thought that Lindback would get a wild card.
  15. You may end up with 3 riders who really shouldnt be there. Fresh life will be breathed into the competition when riders are good enough to qualify. Maybe top 4 in the Challenge go to next years GP, and only 3 wild cards.
  16. So they would never watch or attend any event where a competitor has the same number all season. What a complete and utter crackpot statement to make. So stupid a statement I can only think your mates were of the ilk they didn’t want to be seen different from the gang. Hopefully they will grow up and be able to debate.
  17. Forgot about that, love to have been in the pits to hear what went on.
  18. I wouldn’t dismiss your claim, but he has to prove it by winning the top trophy. Of the three, the one that stands out clearly to me is Madsen. He is carrying an injury that affected him badly for a couple meetings, sadly the results in those meetings robbed him of being champion. He has proved, to me at least, he not just a hater, he can race. He has a great personality too.
  19. Equally interesting is the 4 series reserves. Say that because this year Lambert really got used, and Fricke didn’t do too bad for meetings. So who are the 4 for 2020. If Lambert not in the full 15, does he have another pick for 4 reserves. Smektala, Michelson, Thomson, Woryna possible.
  20. Other sports may not be numbers..... Snooker it’s names.... “Hurricane “, “Rocket”, “Whirlwind”. Other sports, apart from numbers, it is colours to a massive extent...... in MotoGP Yellow is synonymous with Valentino Rossi, Red with Marq Marquez. Combine the yellow colour with 46, the orange with 93, and at the GP’s you see a sea of yellow46 flags, hats, jackets, banners, and orange93 similar products ..... all in the tens of thousands. Jorge Lorenzo is 99, Andrea Dovitsiozo is 04..... the list goes on....... they are all big money spinners, massive. The new popular number to watch in Moto GP is 20 - Fabio Quartararro - just see how that number goes massive in the next few years. Back to speedway, those who watched the under 21 world championship from Pardubice last Friday.... did you not notice sections of the crowd were wearing clothing in the same colours as their idol - Bartosz Smektala, - and they stood out. Smektala will be in the senior world championship sometime soon, The money machine is already working hard.
  21. My mum and dad used to go on about how good Jack Parker was, often referring to how long he was match race champion.
  22. A better track for 6 riders per race. Most races were a bit strung out tonight. Jaimon did really well. If he keeps progression up he should be in the top 5 next year. Kuberra bottled it a bit but being in it next year he should be in the running for top 3. Chiganov will be there next year, could have been champion this year, so I expect him to be up near the top next year.
  23. The light show at the current World Championship Athletics from Doha is what is needed at Cardiff, spectacular but on a “quieter” level then Pittsburgh as shown above.
  24. Well, all that in the books etc about PC is news to me BUT if that’s what was going on, then that’s what was going on.
  25. Gather you not a favourite of gardening and adjusting chains etc. Don’t think many fans are, but what fans think don’t seem to matter too much these days.
