  1. Another one living in a fantasy world. Football is awash with huge television deals and corporate bigwigs. Speedway does not have that luxury. Coventry have not got got the money to fund restoring the stadium and no prospect of making any money at all even if a miracle happened. Likewise, Wimbledon have not got the money to secure a site, or prospect of turning a profit even if a miracle happened their either. Coventry and Wimbledon are finished. Accept it and move on with your life, cos they ain't coming back.
  2. But they will not get money back from it. This is what im saying if you bothered to listen. I will confidently say that no speedway tracks will open or reopen in the UK any time in the near future. It. Is. Not. Viable.
  3. Exactly. Time. Not MONEY as there is none. They've got no chance
  4. They would not give them a lease because it wasn't viable! Wimbledon aura had long since vanished, hence they dropped out of the top league in 85, closed in 91 and then struggled after reopening in 02. As for Coventry, the last time I was there was towards the end of 2016 and the place was virtually empty Im very sorry to burst people's bubble, but the facts are that speedway in the UK is not viable financially. No businessman with any credibility would touch it with a bargepole because they will never get it back, no matter how much half a dozen supporters jump up and down. There will never be speedway in Wimbledon again. Ditto Coventry, and the sooner these people accept it and move on with their lives the better. British Speedway needs to prioritise what it has left, not waste time chasing list causes. Harsh yes, but true im afraid.
  5. Those crowd levels will not keep paying it with the rising costs in the sport. I reiterate, there is no money in speedway and this fairy tale of Coventry reopening and now Wimbledon reopening is pie in the sky. Wimbledon was not viable in the 2000s, hence they pulled the plug when the sport was in a far better state than it is now. Brandon will cost multiple millions restore, and the group trying to rescue it don't have that money. They have NO chance
  6. And that's why there's rumours Oxford won't be running next year. Forget this fairy tale of clubs like Wimbledon, Swindon and Coventry reopening - it's a fantasy. There's no money to do it and not enough interest in the areas. Speedway needs to keep the ones it has open.
  7. Its realistic. There is no chance of any new track opening now. It will cost millions of pounds and this lot simply cannot afford it and will never get the money back. Sorry but you are absolutely deluded. Speedway will never return to Wimbledon - accept it and move on.
  8. Until the locals find out and block it. Another pipe dream im afraid

  10. Definition of dumbing down in speedway - a second division standard rider winning a GP
  11. Sadly many similarities between Ward and Moran. Both talented, but extremely unlikable as individuals
  12. Amazing how much carnage happens in a track when Lindgren is about......
  13. I went to Cardiff once in the first year and I walked out after 5 races - loads of others did as well. It was pants. Rubbish track, stadium barely a 1/4 fulI. i wouldn't bother with any other of the joke venues we have in the UK even if you gave me a free ticket
  14. No it doesn't. The only thing speedway fans are interested in is the racing. Nobody cares about the build up, having meals or what museums are in the area. Belle Vue is the only place in this country worth watching speedway in 2025. The previous venue was a total embarrassment between 2001 and 2024. End of story.
  15. Thank God. The damage that dump has been allowed to do to British Speedway is unforgivable and will take years to fix. Thankfully the healing starts now while the Cardiff sycophants cry into their dinners.
  16. 24 hours to go before Belle Vue begins to repair the damage done to British Speedway by the miserable hole in the ground in Wales. Can't wait
  17. Seems to be the Cardiff apologists who are begging for the Belle Vue GP to fail. Shame on them.
  18. Exactly. There is optimism and then there is delusion. This group fall into the second category. Its gone for ever. Accept it and move on
  19. Nothing because it's never going to happen. The site is not for sale as has been clear by Brandon Estates and even it was, restoration will cost millions- money this group simply doesn't have. Coventry Speedway is finished whether people want to hear it nor not
  20. The guy must be wondering why he bothered given the shambolic way Birmingham Speedway has been run since Tony Mole retired
  21. The guy must be wondering why he bothered given the shambolic way Birmingham Speedway has been run since Tony Mole retired
  22. Yet most fans i talk to that have been to Workington say the track is rubbish.
  23. Can't get why anyone would want to see Harris riding in a GP again. He's had enough chances over the years.
  24. Watch the last race of the British Final. Boring Glasgow (or any other track in the UK) couldn't put on anything like that if it tried.
  25. It is at Belle Vue. All of the other tracks in the UK is wouldn't bother with even if I got a free ticket
