Wolves -v Belle Vue 10th/11th October Ko Cup Final
R87 replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Jimmy Nilsen in '89 I think. -
Unless rumours of his imminent departure to Perry Barr are to be believed. Bit of mischief making I think though. Cannot see PA leaving Wolves.
-
Have heard whispers that CVS is taking a step back from Wolves due to poor health. would be very surprised if Pete Adams pitched up at Birmingham though.

Premiership Grand Final 2nd Leg - Wolves Vs Swindon 4 Oct
R87 replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Congratulations to Swindon. Always thought it would be a tall order even with a lead to defend. To lose it by a point is a real kick in the privates. -
Have a feeling Cradley could be the big doubt rather than Birmingham if I'm honest

Doubling up has to go. However, because it's been allowed to mutate to this level of jaw-dropping idiocy, the only way it can happen is gradually over a period of two or three years. There simply aren't enough riders to go round who WANT to race in Britain now.
-
Sorting out the ludicrous amount of matches where teams arrive with riders missing has to be the priority over getting the top riders back. British Speedway is hardly in a position to chastise other countries over rider availability when we have so many clashes with the other two leagues in the UK.

Wolves - Swindon Followed By Wolves - Kings Lynn 4.9.17
R87 replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole have already been to Wolves and won and pushed us close in the second meeting. If it's a Poole Wolves final, I certainly don't think it would be a formality. -
Cradley fans have previous for cheering the opposition at Monmore (Just as some Wolves fans often went to Dudley Wood and did the same thing).
-
Steadily pulled away now. Belle Vue running out of steam.
-
Masters clearly nowhere near fit.
-
Decent meeting and we were always going to be up against it with a four man team and Schlein off form, though his exclusion in heat 12 was a joke.
-
Slight snag to the idea. The Poles will not even attempt to cooperate with anyone, be it Britain, Sweden or Denmark.
-
Wolves season in real danger of grinding to a halt at the moment. Have to big up some major points at Kings Lynn and Somerset. Tonight was always going to be a big ask, but bitterly disappointed at the capitulation.

Monster Energy are the main backers of the series. Think it's a cert he would get picked

Baffles me when I hear people say we should ditch Cardiff as its too expensive and then contradict themselves by saying they should take it back to Wembley.........
-
In fairness he's not the first to do that. Tony Rickardsson quite often did a lap of honour after being knocked out of a GP. Woffinden didn't get as big cheers as in recent seasons though. Personally I think he's allowed himself to get a bit distracted by the dispute with the BSPA
-
Personally I thought the crowd seemed slightly down on recent years, though lots of people got to their seats later than normal - maybe due to the searches and that they ran out of programmes and people I heard had to wait while they quickly printed some more off. I thought the racing was pretty good, though I still feel 2010 was the best racing we saw at Cardiff. However, the track held up pretty well, which the time for heat 18 as quick as heat 1. No sign of any blue groove appearing, which shows they are finally getting the temporary tracks right.

Not seeing out a win at Poole and failing to advantage when we went Swindon are other results which could bite us. there is a very real chance we will miss out on the play offs

Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 17/07/17

I seem tof rememberJason Lyons having a crash like that in the same spot years ago. It was really nasty and Kyle is very fortunate to have escaped with just concussion - could very easily have been a season ending crash. -

Exactly. Pooles win was well merited. We know from past experience that being successful in speedway is often about being in the right place at the right time. -

No complaints. Poole deserved to win in the end. Too many of our riders didn't come to the party when it mattered -

Poole favourites for this now. Little doubt about that. -

How on earth he's got away from that with nothing broken is miraculous. -

Simply got boxed onto the line by the Poole riders and list control. Total accidenta, but a nasty one.
