  1. If Wolves want to be in the play offs, we need so much more from reserve. Howarth has been a huge disappointment so far
  2. Doubt many Wolves fans will be there given the team and the weather.
  3. Very big win for Belle Vue if the weather doesn't intervene
  4. Eventually a good win for us, after a spirited battle by the Bees. Excellent meeting tonight with some terrific racing. I've been a big critic of the lack of good racing in the last 5 seasons, but the last few matches at Monmore have been very good.
  5. Good that Bech and the club appear to have parted on good terms. I'm not all that sure about PK returning, as his form this year hasn't been particularly outstanding, though I guess it will help that he won't be expected to nag in 15s and 14s every week given our good form at the moment. Have to say it shows the stupidity of the regulations with averages that he will likely be a reserve on Monday (incidentally, his last appearance as a reserve in the UK was at Oxford on October 12th 1990!). Something the BSPA need to review again in the winter.
  6. Wolves have been bullied out of this tonight. 3 heat wins all night says it all.
  7. Track isn't the best, but Kylmakorpi showed you can pass on the outside if your brave enough. Need Masters and Bech to come to the party if we want to be in with a chance of nicking a point.
  8. Best meeting I've seen at the Green for a while. Pleased with the win though Kings Lynn deserved a point, taking advantage are of woeful displays by Masters and Howarth. In fairness they could have got more had some fairly strange decisions gone their way and the likes of Batchelor turned up.
  9. The track clearly needs a lot of work to rectify the problem soon before somebody comes away from there with a bad injury. Holder is clearly going through the motions, but good on him for speaking his mind about the track.
  10. Delighted with the win to put us back at the summit. My second trip to Leicester and I was curious to see for myself whether the standard of racing had improved. In fairness there were one or two good moments of racing, especially a cracking heat 13 between Starke and Kylmakorpi. By and large though, it was pretty ordinary. Have to say the crowd was really poor. But when te home teams struggling and the weather is poor, it's not a huge suprise. A real pity because it's a cracking little venue. If more thought had gone into the track, they could have had something really special.
  11. Not going to criticise too much as the weather clearly caught the Brummies out. I came out of work at 5pm convinced it was going to be off, so they deserve credit for getting the match on and avoiding the nightmare of slotting in a rearranged fixture. Saying that, it was arguably the poorest meeting I've seen at Perry Barr with not one single pass.
  12. Pretty straight forward for Wolves last night against a poor Leicester team. One or two moments of good racing as well, with a brilliant outside pass by Freddie on Watt. Sad that we used to see those moves several times in one meeting, but now so rare at Monmore.
  13. Bech's not got going yet, but I wouldn't lose faith in him just yet. He's been unfortunate to be in a difficult spot in the side as well as picking up an injury. But he does need to start performing better soon.
  14. Have to say that I've seen much better racing in two matches at Brandon this season than in any meeting for a good long while at Monmore. Never thought I'd type those words.
  15. Tremendous meeting with some quality action. Coventry deserved win though. Team line up shuffle has weakened Wolves with Howarth and Bech as heat leaders.
  16. Can only see a comfortable Coventry win at the moment. Track not suiting Wolves at all
  17. Just watching the Lakeside Belle Vue match back. This sums up exactly why people get so disillusioned with speedway. Constant delays with nothing happening and a meeting (league leaders against a highly fancied opponent) played out in front of one man and his dog with no atmosphere whatsoever.
  18. Clegg has been able to hide so far due to the other riders in the side scoring big points. Unfortunately Howarth having a poor night at Poole exposed him.
  19. Pretty much what I expected, though Howarth very disappointing. Nobody will touch Poole down there. Just hope people don't get disheartened. Losing at Poole doesn't mean we've become a bad team over night.
  20. No doubt older Wolves fans best memory of the place was the infamous sit-in of 1985.
